As a Pakistani, many many apologies to our Bengali brothers and sisters. Pakistan was a clear oppressor to you and still hasn't admitted. May you guys keep progressing and gain success.
its ok sir i guess, do i have to say sorry for my fathers crime? our ancestors ruined it or else we could even been the greatest nation, may the children of the next get the peace of their time unless we show them.

Bangladesh was literally one of the richest places on earth when the British took over and forced them to supply them with tea among other things. Also he didn’t even really talk about the fact that Churchill exacerbated the famine in Bangladesh causing more to needlessly die. That is unbelievably significant and should always be mentioned. Famines can start with natural disasters that limit food supplies, but often times it is the government policies that make it significantly worse. See also the British and the Irish Famine, similar circumstances.
Bengal and Bangladesh are two different things . India also has west bengal . Bangladesh is from east bengal
The Bengal Subah province in the Mughal Empire was the wealthiest state in the subcontinent. Bengal's trade and wealth impressed the Mughals so much that it was described as the Paradise of the Nations by the Mughal Emperors.

What lacks in this review is, the mughals were one of the best dynasties to rule in bangladesh to pioneer the socio economy, social structure , to implement the hierarchy chain in administrations and whereas the British were thieves who stole the money and sent it to England! I am not implying or saying that british rulers didn’t do anything but what they took was way far more than what they gave this county in return!
Sorry if i was offensive ☺️

Because Mughals looted india within and created mullas

@@catlover9865 That goes for the history books you learn. It is even true in Indian sources, Chinese sources, Pakistani sources ,Turkish sources etc. Even some western historians agree. And there's some British who are like "Here's ten reasons why colonization was good"

Bangladesh would've improved anyway without the British...even if we were under the British rule .... in Bangladesh wealthy Bengalis made hospitals, schools and brought electricity....not the British....they just gave permissions and that's what they did...

Sheikh Mujib was a socialist leader. So he implemented socialist policies like nationalizing oil industry, factories etc.

Very biased storytelling. British taught bengalis hygiene!!? There were times when kings in bengal/india did not like britishers who didn't even learn to properly clean themselves after pooping. 200 years of exploitation and tyrannies brought absolute devastation in bengal. Hygiene wasn't a concern for common when you don't have enough food.

Land of mango trees and paddy fields. Bengal paid the highest tax in Mughal and British era. It was the richest country when Bengal Sultans ruled, a heaven for knowledge seekers at Pala dynasty. But now 20 years old boy like me only read the glorious past in books and dream to get back our golden times.
The video was great. But, there was overt simplification in some places that might cause some misconception.
Suppose, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman can't be outright called a dictator as he was elected by the people but was killed just 3 years into his tenure, the reign of Ershad was a dictatorship, and both Khaleda Zia (elected PM 2 times) and Sheikh Hasina was elected democraticly.

the country may be improving but it still has tons of hardcore muslim people and people who blindly support their political party without questioning their ideas... we still got a long way to go to fix up the mess this country is in rn but there is hope
They are blindly supporting those extremist group and there's nothing much we can do unless they realize it on their own. Otherwise the history will repeat itself
@@Isnapthesky we got a leader who is improving the economy nd quality of life in this country but isnt a president but more like a dictator, and on the other side we got a opposition leader who wants hardcore islamic law.. we are fucked both ways, either this country will turn into russia or china or it will turn into mid east nd non of em r good options..
@@Isnapthesky what we need is to stop censoring media in this country nd educate the people, nd what we need the most is a perfect democracy with complete free speech rights and gun rights for the mentally stable, in this current situation only the criminals have guns, when we let the normal healthy public get access to firearms the level of crime in this country will go down rapidly.. we have to let the people have power, just like murica people will protect the democracy
I'm well aware of your concern since I'm from this place as well. We really need to educate people and need to hold a strong grip on population decline otherwise more people will make more demand which will be a curse for us since we're a small country with a little amount of natural resources.

The independence war of Bangladesh lasted for 9 months (25 march 1971-16 december 1971 ). 3 million people gave their lives and 2 lakhk (200k) women lost their dignity. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was our national hero because of him Bangladesh was able to achieve independence. On August 15, 1975, he and his whole family lost life in the hands of the anti-independence forces.

If not for India back then there wouldn't have been a Bangladesh. Don't think the present Bangladeshi people are thankful to India for that.
This is not just a cliché, this is inaccurate. India only intervened in the last thirteen days of the war, by then most of Bangladesh has been liberated from Pakistan.
Why should we be grateful anymore when india is doing the almost same kind of economical and psychological damage to us, read about teesta river and ganges river crisis, civilians getting killed in the borders(specially the case of a girl named "felani khatun"), talpatti island crisis in 1980 and 2003, border skirmish between BSF and BDR in 2001, and your illiterate leaders like modi and amit shah insults Bangladesh's sovereignty everyday by saying that Bangladesh will be part of " Akhand bharat" thats why almost every election time they heinously say Bangladesh will be attacked and forcefully be under of akhand bharat, now tell why tf should we consider india as our friend when your leaders will not feel guilty for a single moment before stabbing us in the back while we are not careful
We do acknowledge India's assistant during our hardest time and the one who studied the history is thankful for your help. However, there are some issues going on between India and Bangladesh and someone already mentioned it on the thread and if it is not fixed soon then the relationship might get a bit salty. Greetings from Sylhet!

Great info, but the music it too lively for a video highlighting the deaths, famine, racism, and war (for the most part).
British Colony decently broke the great Bengal. They knew if they want to control the subcontinent they should control the Bengal first. Because at that time Bengali nations were so
intellectually strong and emotional. So, the British colony made riot movements into them. They taught them to despise each other in the name of religion. Not only that, the British entrance door was Battle of Plassey and ruled 200 years and lastly they divided the East n West Bengal.
Yeah let's all conveniently forget what Muhamud Ghori, Mahmud Ghazni, Khilji, Auregazeb etc did to the native indians and come up with some nonsense unhistorical conspiracy theories.
