The Emperor's Shadow are one of Arcturus Mengsk's specialist units that I have not really played extensively at level 15. Let's see how well they perform.

Honestly Mengsk seems like the best commander out of all.
Best and fastest early game.
One of best late game potentials.
Arguably strongest call-in abilities with only 1 not being exceptionally good and all 4 being as spam-able as player wants. Seriously Contaminated strike is less effective than regular Earthshaker attack(Ignoring that it has infinite range compared to regular attack).
Versatile army roster with plenty of choices for either single unit spam or combined arms.
Probably best synergy with every other commander.
Best pushing and defending capability out of all commanders making his best teammate on every map. Mengsk can push and establish a new base in under a literal ingame minute before pushing more.
i agree with all other than contaminated strike being bad. look at it, it scares the enemy at higher levels and has infinite range + it gives vision upon use. im pretty sure you're meant to use it to get vision on something, then zerg or nuke e.t.c
if you use it that way, its really good
@@bobbiejohn1353 The problem is that at 75 range Earthsplitters can cover half the map from one point to another and most maps have the player at or near the center of the map so you can freely gain sight just with regular bombardment.
For 25 mandate it requires as well as it having a cooldown it completely underperforms compared to 25 mandate Dogs of War that just calls in zerglings.
Damage it does is minimal and CC fear effect lasts as short as it already does that it's worse at softening up enemy for your army than regular bombardment.
aha, but i didnt mention how it basically stops an attack wave thanks to the fear effect, has a small cool down, because of the mandate generation most mengk's will have, 25 mandate is NOTHING, allows you to fear an enemy force meaning less damage incoming to your army, can hit anywhere on map with no restrictions and can effectivly wipe zerglings and marines with ease, not to mention the sight it gives tho, if we do, that means you can call down a 100 energy dogs of war with enough generation

I got Mengsk yesterday, and I am having a lot of fun with him. Maybe that's just because I like blowing things up in sc2, but still.

Are emperor's shadows even good or viable to use in coop? I felt like they're the least used unit I've ever used when I was playing as mengsk so far.

Is there any reason to choose Royal Guard Imperial Mandate over Trooper/Laborer mastery? I think Royal Guards generate IM even without the blimp, but you may have to have a certain amount to out-generate two bases of Laborers.
Guards do generate but only 1 per rank. While whit the blip its 1 per laborer, you have more laborer than guard since you have them at the resource line and with the main army as trooper, I get a laborer mandate income over 250 easy while mandate with guard hit barely 50. The mastery give +30% so each laborer now give 1.3 mandate (2.6 with blip upgrate) Guard wont ever out generate the laborer, so no I don't think it's worth it
@@viktor9461 I hope Blizzard changes the Guards mastery to something more useful, like what they did before for the other commanders.
They should change both guard experience gain and guard support.
But what's likely to be nerfed is the double support blimp upgrade

He seems to use Terrible Damage when he's not planing on using much Royal Guard units, it's a smart idea since the damage buff is nice when you're not gas starved for making more royal guards.

Yeah 1 is enough since he has no cast time upgrade, but he wasn't paying attention to units much during the match so I guess he was just overcompensating incase they start dying out while he's busy doing something else, ex. see fight at 17:30 .

You floating quite alot of minerals this match,should have upgrade the weapon for the troopers,the rocket launcher probaly is the best for air hybrid

This is something that I was doing by level 6 the ghosts are really strong with their nukes and I can only imagine they get better with the channeling reduction upgrade

u need to try out sniping vikings their damge is so high they do 50x2 and they are super fast it s realy funn but u need a good ally to suppord u vs ground

Kerigan should attack mengsk in korhal again. Do you think she can still do it using these units against mengsk' empire in the campaign?
If Mengsk had Co op units, calldowns and Earthsplitters then the final mission would be impossible. Imagine a wave of 500 hp Marauders with 200% attack speed supported by invisble Medivacs, Thors that have an armor bonus aura, Battlecruisers with 1400 hp, 100 dps, 6 armor, triple shot splash 300 damage Yamato cannon, Vikings that move twice the speed of Mutas and can 1v1 Ultralisks on the ground, 14 range 14 sight Siege Tanks that stun and have improved aoe, all while being bombarded by 50 range artillery, radioactive strikes, random bunkers and 41 Nuclear Missiles.

and the game running in 3620×2036 (DSR) my monitor originally runs at 2560×1440 native at display port 1.4 VESA Certified
and it gives me 100 - 120 fps at max
when I lowered my res to 1080 it gives me 165 fps
so what res you running

There's just hardly ever a reason to use them, and never in big numbers.
this almost looks like random noob Nova tryhards playing Mengsk, but instead of screwing up like their lives, this one actually works
Mengsk needs to be nerfed way to many workers WAY to fast

AndyH 1 and Zagara, and Megsk really sucks against some of Amons armies
His top bar is really strong but most of his army is very underwhelming (I wish the Artillery had more range :( they are so fun)
