  • WEBINAR | From Agreement to Action | Harnessing local solutions for biodiversity: insights from recent global dialogues on nature, water and plastic
ICLEI Cities Biodiversity Centre has launched a webinar series titled “From agreement to action: the key role of subnational and local governments in the Global Biodiversity Framework implementation”, to keep the momentum going towards the next UN Biodiversity COP, that was displayed by subnational governments and cities’ achievements at COP15, and their commitments to contribute to the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and its targets.
The 5th webinar, organized on 28 June 2024, discusses the critical role of subnational and local governments in implementing the Global Biodiversity Framework, drawing from insights from recent events like the Oceans Conference and Plastics Treaty INC-4 Meeting. Discover how collaboration at the grassroots level can translate international commitments into impactful actions, from coastal management to plastic pollution reduction.
The webinar series is organised with support from partners United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity, International Union for Conservation of Nature, (IUCN), European Committee of the Regions (CoR), and Regions4.
