because the car has been in production since 2003 with basically no major changes

It's weird how they call it ugly. The design has aged incredibly well and it still looks relatively new for a car that's nearly 20 years old.
Same thing happened to the E60 5-Series; everyone called it ugly when it was new but it aged incredibly well.

Compared to the outgoing model and considering this was 2003 it was considered very brash looking. However as time has gone on it has aged very well, and looks relatively restrained compared to some cars!

You can't really compare the modern Phantom against the 2003 Phantom. It takes time for people to accept new design language.

It's fun to review old car reviews to see how wrong they got it sometimes..... Quiton is the kind of guy who went to private school but isn't really part of the elite and obviously still had a chip on his shoulder cause daddy just had an xj and the others got dropped off in rr..... Why on earth did he get a bunch of pretentious toffs in the car to say the styling was ghastly when they weren't rr audience they were targeting actually rich people. When it came out I remember most people loving the styling

Interesting take on this automobile. To view the psychological side of both owning or reacting from out- or inside the car is enlightening, but I think, if you have the funds to own such an excellent vehicle, it should not matter that much, what other people think about you, it's what you think and feel, owning and driving it.
To me, the massive front is a bit heavy, but all in all, I would buy one, if I could.

BMW is a company, famous with its driver oriented cars. Hence it describes itself "Ultimate driving machine". But RR is a PASSANGER'S CAR! Almost none of its owners drives it, unless they are Kardashians or rap singers!
I think its the fundamental part, where BMW sucks. Forexample, joystick is placed perfect, but its screen placed WRONG. My driver doesn't need to know my preferance or what I dial or type, unless I would inform! And Since I would sit behind a seat, as a rear passenger, why on earth that info screen is in the middle of the dashboard! BMW is a good investor, but a horrible patron to lead the RR. Sorry.

They all criticized Daniel Craig with his first take on Bond. Ffwd 10 yrs, Now he is applauded and embraced as the best Bond by many. The Phantom VII or VIII is the car to buy once you have really made it, Comfortable with style presence & a symbol the world over. The sales figures for BMW & Rolls are astounding and that is what really matters. Ugly by some, or not BMW have done a great job in bringing this marque from the brink of extinction. A good wine takes time to mature, so also the opinion of this Phantom.
