I am by no means a metalhead, but I do jam out sometimes. I don't really enjoy the parts where the singer is just screaming into the mic, like at 1:05, during the breakdown, but in the more melodic parts such as 1:31, I could headbang to that shit ALL DAY LONG.
Check out their newest album Magma, they dropped a lot of that intensity and went for a more melodic almost dream like feel. There's a lot more clean vocals in it too, so you might like it.
My comment was aimed at the Twitch viewer in Jason's stream who commented that the drummer of Gojira is "not human". I think that, while the drumming is phenomenal for sure, I wouldn't go so far as to say he's not human, since people like Matt Garstka exist.
The problem with Gojira for me is that they are so similar to Mastodon, so if i get bored of one i can't listen to the other. Even their progression is the same, they did the same changing of their music on the new albums lol

Gojira is miles ahead of mastodon. They are so technical. And their drummer is unreal. Mario might be one of the best drummers today.

Hi, I have a question, how does he gets the notes correct when he doesnt even strum? I'm new around here.
Transparent notes are tap notes and the notes with the glowing center represent either a hammer on or a pull off motion.
