    Dude you are awesome for posting those videos. A million thanks. I was scammed by the mechanics where i lived. I payed for engine service and they never even replaced anything apart from spark plugs brakes and oil. Now i can do everthing myself.

      Jim Mat Hi. Cub is a motorcycle that is very simple to maintenance. I learned that except for replacing the front brake pads, the plug can hold more than 8,000 km (but it is important to check and clean), the air filter is not replaced for over 22,000 kilometers (important to check and clean), so did the original Tires and the Rear brake pads. Even valves, after the running period, do not have to adjust every 4,000 km (but need to check). I change oil every 2000 km. So maybe your mechanic is right and your payment to the garage was mainly for the cleaning & checks. I'm not running to convince people to take care of their motorcycle. Mainly, because it may be very dangerous and end in death, and great technical knowledge is required. If you find my video useful, I'm very happy!!!. Thank you for all the nice words.

      Hi, Francis and thanks for your lovely request. I photograph garage work that I do on my motorcycle, my Innova. My Innova is a fuel injection model not a carburetor model. Maybe a day will come when volunteer viewer send me a crburetor assembl as a gift for photography? Even if I will have the time for it ,I currently do not have a carburetor that I can photograph. Some subscribers have asked me before to film and edit a video about the fuel injection system, maybe that will happen someday. This year I am full of videos waiting to be edited from the bearings replacement projecte, I've already completed some of them and I place them at my MASTER's Playlist. Sorry, and thanks for understanding.

      Mike Vafiadis Hi' and thanks. Do not tighten the plug under a given torque, there is another method. Be careful not to destroy the aluminum thread at the top of the engine. If you're not a mechanic, please leave the job to a professional.

    • @MyINNOVAMotorcycling
      @MyINNOVAMotorcycling  Před 6 lety

      If the engine is an "HONDA INOVVA" engine or one of the other ANF models, then the engine is the same and the torque moment is the same torque. Note that a torque handle tool is not a guarantee of success and is not a replacement for the hand of a qualified mechanic. The reason, for exmple, wrong use of the torque handle , by adjusting the wrong torque, which can cause damage.

    Please don't think I am trying to be a smart ass or a wisecrack, but I could not stop myself from commenting here. The crank case caps, that you ruined using a special screw driver and mentioned that an investment in tools will save unnecessary expenses @4.02:
    You were probably right on the money there:
    The caps were meant to be opened by suitably sized... COINs..!!

    • @MyINNOVAMotorcycling
      @MyINNOVAMotorcycling  Před 6 lety

      I did not find a coin in the right size, and the coins i was find were slidding and twisted under the rotation effort (the coin was benting, and destroyed the slot). These caps have a tendency to tighten tight, and are made of aluminum (soft metal). If you get along with a coin I'm happy for you. You can also take a large screwdriver(cheap) and design it to the required shape. A screwdriver slipping out of the slot would destroy it. It's easy to destroy those slots.

      where did you learn the right torque of each nuts? Is it included in manuals?
      Yes. It has taken from HAYNES service & repair manual book No 4926
      An excellent book that is recommended for any mechanic.
      As far as I understand, the British take the torques from the HONDA's book.
      I personally do not use a torque meter (I don't have one).

    I have some questions:
    I have a small tik noise sometimes at idle at neutral and some times at stops exhaust din’t sound correct. Is that indications for valve adjustment? If not what might cause this small amount of tik noise
    How to identify the torque spec required to screw the valve lock screw?
    Lastly, what is the torque spec for spark plug?

      It is difficult to give answers to problems through online chat. Maybe it's the timing chain, maybe the accessory that stretches the timing chain, maybe the main drive chain, and maybe something else. For an accurate diagnosis, please contact a qualified mechanic.
      Since valves are part of the motorcycle maintenance routine, one should check every 4,000Km, and adjust as needed. You usually do not need to adjust them.
      There is no torque to tighten the Plug , used Plug is rotated until it is arrive at the place, then add another 1/8 turn. New Plug you tighten and then loosen and retighten 1/8 turn (after it arrive to his place). Be very careful because the Plug is made of hard metal and the thread at the top of the engine is made of soft metal (aluminum). I do the tightening by what is called a mechanic feeling.

    • @MyINNOVAMotorcycling
      @MyINNOVAMotorcycling  Před 5 lety

      The test is under load. The sound of the valves is typical compared to the wrong condition. It's hard to translate it into a video, you have to know the sound, and know how to separate the noise from the valves. It's not a complicated subject, but it definitely requires knowledge of mechanics.
      If you take care the right process, success is certain, regardless of the test under load. Checking under load, this is for additional inspection, or for identifying a situation that requires an adjusted.

    • @MyINNOVAMotorcycling
      @MyINNOVAMotorcycling  Před 6 lety

      In the injected model, that may be a problem in the mixed tap which is working automatic. If it's a carburetor it may be a tuning problem. I would also checked valves clearance. The problem is common in the carburetor. In the injection has a computer that monitors the combustion conditions. In mountain passes, when the elevations diferent are greater than 500-1,000 meters, the carburetor must be adjusted. Stop safe, and tuning it with a screwdriver. I'm do not encouraged automotive mechanics, I hope you have the necessary knowledge. Without knowledge and appropriate qualification it can be dangerous and even lead to DEATH.
      Try to wait another minute, let the engine warm up a bit longer, and see if that solved the problem

      @tuna9919 Před 6 lety

      I have the injection version, and I live and drive at sea level. So it has to be a problem from the mix that the injector is making?

      I mean the mixed tap is making..

    • @MyINNOVAMotorcycling
      @MyINNOVAMotorcycling  Před 6 lety

      In general
      Maybe one of those factors? 1. Soot at the top of the engine causing the combustion chamber to reduced volume. 2. Engine too hot. 3. Early ignition . 4. Too high a rpm (in a comb). 5. Improper octane fuel. 6. The mixture is too weak.

      I don't think so,because a higher cam love would have taken in consideration the 0.10 gap,so it could life the valve more,if you let more gap,then that defeats the purpose of a higher camshaft,but you need to be carefull with the piston anyway

      I'm personally not a fan of upgrades. Increasing the volume requires adjustment in the ignition system. Higher volume (Not originaly) will increasing the load on the crank and other parts. So you might consider purchasing another motorcycle with a greater volume?
      People that like upgrades certainly will know to offer you a better offers than my.

    • @MyINNOVAMotorcycling
      @MyINNOVAMotorcycling  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi. It is recommended to check the Spark-Plug every 4,000Km, and replace it every 8,000Km. If there is moisture on the plug, most likly it is an oil residues and not fuel residues. Oil (or fuel residues) should not be appear on the plug in normal condition!!! If there are an oil marks on the plug, there must be a white smoke coming out from your exhaust. Burned oil quickly closes the catalytic converter, and if the catalytic converter goes clogged it will also lower the engine power. It is very difficult to give you adviceas and help you online, I suggest you go to the local garage, who will look at the problem closely, and will give you his opinion.
