I love all of your recent fragrance videos! The past 2 years in quarantine I have focused my attention on fragrance and skincare over makeup since I’m at home more often and am not wearing as much makeup. When he passed away, my brother left me his mind-bogglingly extensive designer and niche fragrance collection. I feel like a few of the Amouage fragrances he had fit this bill, though on the more mature side. Amouage Gold Man smells like a regal 50+ woman with incomprehensible wealth.

@@ErinNicoleTV Thank you ❤️ He made it his mission to buy every single 5-star fragrance in “Perfumes: The Guide” by Luca Turin and Tania Sanchez. If you’ve never read it, check it out! It’s an absolute riot of a read! There are a lot of laugh-out-loud savage reviews of bad fragrances, as well as some really intriguing descriptions of the better fragrances. It was published in 2008, so the profiled fragrances are more of the classics, but as someone who does a wonderful job of describing scents and the emotions and visuals they evoke, I think you would LOVE the book! I don’t necessarily agree with their reviews, but it’s a delightful read nonetheless.
@@sibyl999 Thank you ❤️ It is a floral in the spirit of Chanel No 5. If I didn’t know it was intended for men, I would never have guessed. To me it is quite feminine. I’m 34y/o and when I wear this one, I feel like I don’t have the gravitas and worldly experience to merit wearing it yet. It doesn’t smell “old”, but it does feel out of place on a woman my age. Definitely worth a sniff for curiosity’s sake, but I don’t think this one’s for everyone. When I saw Erin’s video, I thought of this one immediately.

Have not tried Greenwich Village, but my 17-year old daughter wears Bond #9 Madison Square Park since she was 12. It was a gift from her dad on Valentine’s Day. She won’t let me wear it. She said, it is her signature perfume.

The bond no 5 fragrance sounds so good! I’ve been thinking I want a perfume that really stops people in their tracks and BR540 really makes my head turn whenever I smell it on someone. Which makes me think, could you make a video on fragrances just as good as Baccarat Rouge?

Erin, not sure if you heard yet ( but I’m sure you prob have) that bond no 9 just came out with a Greenwich Village candle. I already received and with the lid off, my whole makeup room smells heavenly, without it even being lit!!

Loved this video Erin. Re bakarat, I smelled it in a shop here in Sydney, loved it straight away. But I thought of letting it sit on my skin while I visit other shops in the mall, on my way to other stores, I smelled the same fragrance on at least three woman passing by, at that moment I changed my mind and stopped buying Bakarat. Instead I invested in montale and they last whole day. Also dolce the one is my teenage fav, still fav in my 30s
Something about any Chanel fragrance - I just feel like a rich house wife! My favourite perfume house for sure.
I don't personally own any Montale perfumes nor have I smelled them but I have seen them around and honestly the aluminum makes it look like a cheap kitchy fragrance so I have never thought about purchasing 😕

Hello Erin , have you tried Montblanc Signature? Its a delicious cozy creamy citrusy vanilla and the white bottle is so pretty 🥰 I love Chanel Beige, PDM Delina, VCA California Reverie and Guerlain Angelique Noir as they make me feel special every time lol
Although a heavier scent that I wear more in fall and winter, I love 24 Faubourg by Hermès. It’s a ‘get close to me scent ‘.

Erin, listening to you describe the perfume is always a magic journey, this time, into the world of glamour, luxurious yachts, and Michelin star restaurants!!:-)) lol There is something engrossing and almost addictive in the search of that one special fragrance that will be yours only. It does not necessarily mean that you need to spend a 'million" on it, of course!;-I think that the journey, the search itself makes the hunt worthwhile and so exciting! Just think how many precious gems have you discovered on the way so far??!!:-) xx
Did you try the Puredistance perfumes? Those are definitely smells rich, elegant and wonderful. Mostly Puredistance White. But all of them are great from that brand.

So I just recently went in person to smell Greenwich Village and I just couldn’t handle its projection. I had a single spray to my wrist and it instantly gave me a headache. I ended up having to wash it off my wrist because it became nauseating. I was so very sad as I wanted to love it so bad. Just goes to show how different everyone’s noses can be lol ❤️

I would say Tom Ford Black Orchid, I live in San Diego and this was last September little cold outside I was feeling good that day, and this only perfume I repurchased it.
I was so excited to test Penhaligons favorite. Its a beautiful fragrance, but When I sprayed it on my wrist, I could only smell it for the first 10 minutes, and then it was completely gone. I think I am anosmic to this scent 😢
Penhaligon's The Favourite smells like Lancome Miracle but in Luxury version. It smells like Delina Exclusive mixed Miracle Lancome. But The Favourite is little bit stronger. I have these 3 perfumes. 💖
I did what you said most people probably do with Chanel No.5 L’eau when they’re smelling/trying it in the store 🤦🏼♀️😬😄! Hilariously, I have the smallest bottle of Chanel No.5, but I only wear it at very specific times BECAUSE it’s such a unique, “old” smell. Now, I’m going to try the L’eau version properly after listening to you explain it in this video! Thank you!

You get Montale Roses Musk cheapest as 70,48€ in Finland. I might order somewhere sample if I'm able to find it. Some of other of those perfumes as well.
would like a recommendation for an over 60 woman. widowed. going to a special event. looking for an understated, but memorable scent. not really earthy, but soft and with staying power. Something that anyone close enough to shake hands will notice and remember with a smile.
For me Tom Ford Black Orchid smells very rich people-y I have an imitation dupe & just with that I feel like I’m too much of an unworthy peasant sometimes. (I still wear it though, it’s my winter signature.)
So I ordered samples for the Rose Musk and Baccarate Rouge 540 Extrait. The Rose Musk was horrible, it has a funeral home scent that’s way too heavy. On the other hand I must say though I wasn’t swept off my feet by Baccarat at first (which could be because it feels like I encountered the scent on others before) and it didn’t feel the scent was strong enough, I kept revisiting it throughout the day. Something about the smell just draws you in. I’m just not certain about that price tag for a fragrance that not only everyone has but every company has tried to replicate. I hope I find my diamond in the rough fragrance soon 😩.

Gucci’s Flora Gorgeous Gardenia. I’m new to perfume, and I don’t have a lot of money to splurge, but I found a 50 ml and smelling it I was like DAMN THIS IS NEXT LEVEL lol. Also, when I got CK’s Euphoria, I told my partner “I love it but I don’t think I’m important enough to wear this” lol.

Baccarat has so many cheap copies, you can't wear it any longer and Chanel 5 is something mothers gift their daughters when they grow up. It's not exactly what you wear if you want to distinguish yourself from the commoners

I like Roja's Elixir, but the rest of these are too fruity, have too much aldehydes or too much amber for my tastes.
I'd personally suggest instead Vert Malachite by Giorgio Armani, Pur Muguet by Cartier, Love Tuberose by Amouage, J'adore L'or by Dior, Eau Rose EDT by Diptyque, Joyeuse Tubéreuse by Guerlain, Winter's Spring by Gucci, Jump up and Kiss me Ecstatic by Clive Christian and Eau Moheli by Diptyque for rich girl smelling perfumes.
Ikat Jasmine by Aerin Lauder and Gardénia by Chanel are honorable mentions.
I don't know what people have against feminine white floral perfumes? I'm so sick and tired of these sickly sweet and fruity gourmand perfumes and woody, spicy, ambery and citrusy perfumes they make for women now that smell like men's cologne or Old Spice. Here's looking at you, Tom Ford... 😒
