I’ve been getting seeds from my bolted Grand Rapids lettuce for the past several weeks. It is an eyesore, but it is producing so many seeds! And I’m anticipating what do do with my jalapeños, too. This video is so timely for me. Thank you!
This video helped a lot as I was just trying to figure this out.
Going to start my first green stalk, live in NJ, will be a great addition for growing!
I started my first Green Stalk last month, and planted swiss chard, sugar snaps, beets, carrots, lettuce, and radishes all direct sow. We are going to harvest our first Radishes tomorrow, and it is so exciting! I live in zone 8, so we're still in the mid to upper 90's every day. Despite those temps, everything is doing great...well, the lettuce is not, actually! But i think ill start some seeds indoors and have them ready for transplanting in a few weeks. 😊
Oh yeah 🎉🎉🎉 Looking Great 😊
Thank you 😊
I am in 7a. When you overwinter your greenstalk, do you keep it indoors or is it outside with a cover?
Hi, I'm in zone 7, too (VA), and I used large tree frost covers for my three greenstalks last winter. It definitely makes a difference.
I've kept them out in 7b all winter, with no problem. Last year I moved them into my greenhouse and the plants survived longer and I was able to plant earlier. This year I will also use the frost cover from Greenstalk to try it out. That's to help the plants grow longer, though, not to protect the Greenstalk itself. It's fine in the winter.
Tank top ....
Are these Greenstalk planters just for seed starting where all plants except herbs have to be transplanted to a bigger garden to produce?
No, the plants in the greenstalk grow and produce all in the planter itself.
♥️🇺🇸🌞
How many potatoes can you harvest from one pod?
Yield is dependent on several factors -- for me it's heat, which lowers yield in the summer altogether. But this video shows what I got from my spring planting: czcams.com/video/8ZMI8LPJopA/video.html
What type of soil do you use ?
Pro Mix mostly
