    This thing is an absolute weapon. You could build something similar in speed for about half the cost (with lesser components though), but the warranty would be entirely up to you lol. Grouse bike though. Looks to be a lot of fun.

      Absolutely not. This bike is positioned as an enduro bike. However, on technical descents, which is what an enduro bike is for, it is simply terrible. Moreover, he is also terrible on technical climbs. In addition, the Bafang company took the path of meaninglessly increasing the power and torque of engines, without bothering with the linearity of their operation characteristics, which is quite typical for the Chinese.

    Wondered if you'd come back. Nice to see you again 😊. Also, can you tell, what companies brick their unlocked bike. I think it's time for Australia to stand up against our Govts and demand a minimum 35kph legal street limit. Would you consider helping?

    • @EpiceBikes
      @EpiceBikes  Před rokem +2

      Bosch, Shimano & Giant are all making statements that they will brick unlocked motors with there latest units and software, All will also deny warranty if unlocked even when many of them come unlocked to 45km/h In other countries such as the USA. We certainly think 25km/h is too slow, Makes sense for some places but for commuters or riders on off road trails its far too limiting and in some scenarios likely less safe then travelling at higher speed.

      @@EpiceBikesI’ve just bought a Cube Reaction Hybrid Pro and I pick it up tomorrow or the day after. As you know it comes with the Gen 4 CX, and I’m gonna ride it for a couple weeks till I’m sure it’s all good, then grab a Volspeed 4 off you guys. Is your website still accurate in that it should still be okay with the latest update, provided I do as you suggest? I know you guys can’t control what Bosch does with their software, so I’m not gonna be a Karen and sook if it throws errors, but do you know if it’s still sweet with the latest update? Edit: Just noticed that it’s not the Volspeed, but a different chip on your site. Question still remains though.

    These companies need to ditch the straight cut gears in these mid-drive motors to reduce the noise.

    • @Poo_Garden
      @Poo_Garden Před 13 dny

      This motor is designed for cargo bikes. It's not an e-mountain bike motor but they worked with the manufacturer to try and adapt it to e-mountain bikes better supposedly.
      Personally, I don't mind the noise as a dirt bike rider, but as a former downhill mountain bike racer I really would like to ride the bike to see how the suspension design and geometry feel!

    You really can not put the frey beast in same category as the others. it's more motor bike.
    Now if you really want to test it against them go and find a tech climb not a basic path. Or try it down hill on some tight stuff. I think you'll find it's not great then.

      it's not a motorbike, it's only 1500 watts, there are 100s of bicycles i see on roads today in London with 1000 watt and 1500 watt hub motors, it's normal in today's time, you need minimum a 750 watt motor to be able to enjoy an electric, if you are going for an ebike, and you like fast riding, not to be dissapointed; just get a proper one, 1000 - 2000 watts and enjoy the power,

      not too faste mate, get 29 inch wheels, and a decent chainring, like 42T and it's not an issue pedaling, infact pedaling helps the motor out a lot, gains the speed much faster, I have bafang m620 48Volts and I reached just over 60km speed which is a little over 37 mph on flat road, with 29x2.6 thick tyres, If i had this 60 volts motor I would be going 40mph or higher, and on low speed climbs pedaling is still effective for me, not sure what gears you are using, maybe sprocket too small
