I preferred it at the beginning with the very mystic brown sky. you can really see the change if you pause it at 0:17 and 4:53 and flip back and forth.

The "brown" you are referring to is actually the underpainting. Doing an underpainting in oil allows you to wipe out the highlights so when you go in with color you already have these transitions and collisions noted.
