Yes, agree 100% with Premier Inn recommendation.. super staff and loved EVERY one I stayed in though my favourites are in Inverness and the one in Albert St, Belfast!

I think as we have bigger towns and villages and closer together our clothes are less rural down south but if we are out walking the clothes are the same. I didn't have to buy anything for the trip as its what I wear out walking here for instance.
I cant stand everyone says pack neutral shade for north UK holidays. I was born over there, am 73 yr old now and going back for a trip to see my family. Neutrals make me look even older, and drags the colour out of my face, so I am going to WEAR colours. The brighter the better. Not hiking, I've seen all the sights over here already. If people want to think I am too old to wear colours then b*gger them...lol. I'm going to have fun with my family, young and old. Bland colours = bland personality.

As someone who lives in Scotland I would say your choice of what to pack is spot on.
