I discovered your video and found your information to be very helpful. I am in Connecticut (zone 7a) closer to the shoreline. After moving into a new house a few years ago, I had two peony plants that were under a large Andromeda tree close to fence, they had a lot of leaves and only one bud that fell off, so last Fall I moved them to a more sunnier, dryer location (we have sandy soil) and was very excited to see new growth this year, hoping to get lots of blooms following your instructions.

Thank you for watching! We are so glad that you found this video helpful! Peonies like to be established and a little more mature to bloom- but they are well worth the wait. It sounds like you may see something this year, fingers crossed. Keep us posted!

Thanks for reminding us to fertilize and water at the drip line. I grow so many seedlings that need water right on their stems after transplanting outside from the indoor grow room , that I can forget and just keep on going the same on my established plants.

Hi Lisa, I have had peonies bud up, and then the buds just die. Is there any reason why they do that? That happened with one that I had for a few years and brand new ones I just planted this spring (they had buds on them and did bloom), but the next buds didn’t. The older one I have, this year it just leafed out with lots of red, not the usual pretty green foliage, and 1/3 the size it should be. I’m in zone 8B with clay soil if that helps.

Hi There! Ugh this sounds devastating! There are a few different reasons why this is happening. The easiest to start troubleshooting with is a soil test. Local extension offices typically offer that service, and the test is very thorough. Keep us posted, this topic would make a great video! 🤔 😊
