It's very true what you said as to whether we actually have a choice in life. As a middle aged man, I have settled for far less than what I wanted. However, what I settled for was still a lot more than what a lot of people have in life. Life's pitfalls and poor choices can lead to disaster. In that situation being blessed with great genetics don't matter.
