  • An American V8, muscle car from the seventies? This is the rarity we are going to face in today's video! A Dodge Dart that was abandoned for a long time! The owner of this car acquired it at auction for an absurd price and wants insane detailing to make this car new again, will we be able to do it? Because this car is a rare and old car, it has all the factory settings and this adds great value to the car! The owner wants to sell it for fifty thousand dollars! Do you think it's possible?

If the owner wants $50,000 out of that car. I recommend he gets a taxi sign to put on the roof and get to work.. it’s a nice car but the only way it would be worth 50 grand is if it had been vacuum sealed straight out of the factory and had 0 miles

There's a high demand for these cars here. Of course, they're worth much less in the country where they were produced in large numbers, like the US. To give you an idea, only 95,000 V8 Dodges were ever made in Brazil, and only about 6% of them are still around.

  • @MrZdvy

First of all, this is a 1974 Dodge Dart Swinger. The '73 and older models still had the tail lights in the bumper. The '75 & '76 models had a different grille with larger parking lights. Original paint? Forget it, this is not a factory color and they never came with a blacked out hood. Also, the striping was added when somebody repainted the car. The vinyl top has been replaced too. The small hub caps are correct for late '60s Darts, not a '74. Mid '70s Darts were not considered muscle cars, although a 360 V8 with 240 hp was optional on the '74 Dodge Dart sport. However most Darts produced had either a slant 6 or a 318 V8. The black paint on the firewall and inner fenders is not correct, this should be body color. The hood ornament and emblem on the trunk lid lock is not correct, that's something from the '80s.
The black paint (undercoating?) in the trunk is a red flag (this should be body color as well), no question it has some rust issues. Washing the trunk floor with water and soap is not a smart thing to do, it will accelerate the rust that's hiding there. Also, there is something weird with the trunk floor, there is supposed to be a round 'tub' for the spare tire. Looks like somebody made some sort of plate there. It does not have the optional power steering and power brakes, so it's a pain to drive. No way this will bring 50 grand, especially not when it needs rust repairs. My guess is 10 to 20 is more realistic, even that is pushing it. I don't mean to complain, just some common sense...I like Darts, but I would skip this one. Good luck.

You might try using instant boat hull cleaner, that contains plant based oxalic acid... I used Star Brite to remove 10 years of oxidation, stains and sap from my older chevy pickup... You can either use it straight wiping the finish down using a sponge or applying it with a sprayer as per instructions or dilute it with some water as it is a strong cleaner, rinse thoroughly. Other things to try are mineral spirits, kerosene, and hand sanitizer... WD-40 and Turpentine have also been used but these can damage the clear coat... If left long enough tree sap can damage the clear coat leaving a permanent stain or discoloration behind... The only way to fix this is to sand the clear coat/paint off and refinish it....hope this helps

After that it was all downhill. When they went to this tail end verses the earlier in bumper lights, they blew it on the styling. It probably hasn't been abandoned all from looks of it. Somebody would have stolen hubcaps from it for the right vintage of car. For 50k you could buy a whole flock of Beaknose darts, feathers and all.

Its got a ton of bondo in the rear quarters. Probably in other areas too. Could really start picking it apart. Maybe $18,000.00? Its rough.

you guys did a very very nice job bringing this car back. but seriously $20000 or $25000 is what he's gonna get. Car still needs a lot of work to be in the $40000 range. I think I saw rust bubbling on left quarter panel. redo the stripping to original specs and a little more. missing a radio ... not a bucket seat car...but still a nice car. definitely not a ' 70

Unless it was left on a public street or on a hwy, it's NOT abandoned. Rare doesn't mean cool.
When I went to school for auto body, I was taught to do the inside first, remove the front seats and door jams then wash the outside including taking the tires off for cleaning

$50000 usd, for a shiny dart , with no proof of it running, good luck with that, but saying that you guys done a good job of making it look presentable 👍🇦🇺

  • @darcybrawataakaontariostac6835

How original is it. Has it had any rust repair? With that much bubbling on that rear quarter panel how much more rust is hiding? And were those vinyl stripes original.
