It's most likely the sound of the electrical current in your brain you're hearing. I know it sounds nuts, but my ENT said if your ears are ringing it's because the brain isn't blocking out the natural sounds of the body and brain that it usually ignores. I found it very interesting.

Yeah, you're right. I've always had tinnitus, but I've met some people who've had it from loud noise exposure. Those kids don't know what they're doing to their ears.

I hear a steady "eeeeee" when I directly face my stereo computer, as well as in the ear facing the computer speakers when I turn my head 90°. But when my is turned 45° away from the speakers, I hear a perfect rhythm of rapid "tick tick tick tick." Anybody know why?

I just found out that my mom has Tenitas and she was trying to make it understandable for me, so that I could have a better idea what she is hearing. She told me from the moment she wakes up until she goes to sleep.... every single second of every single day she hears the equivalent to this sound (she said that when I let her hear 6000hz it made it so that she would hear the noise going from one single long beep And the biggest problem is when she has to go to sleep, she explained. Does anyone know of any good ideas for her to try something that would help her with getting to go to sleep. Because I really feel bad for her. Thanks for taking the time reading this. Hi Marc, I have tinnitus on 6000hz as well, was using this video to show someone what I hear as well. Tbh there isn't a lot to do about it. What helped me at first was having clocks so I could focus on something else and having people with tinnitus to talk to about it. Are you from the Netherlands? (Assuming from your name) if so look up Insentis. I went to Breda and needed one talk there to feel better and at ease. It gets better overtime, the sounds is less prominent since I am so used to it and don't focus on it anymore. Wishing the best for your mom!
Hi, I have the same issue with tinitus. I went to a specialist and basically this happens because our brains compensate for this frequency. What we can do is train ourselves every day for 30mins to find noise that matches this frequency and listen intently for it with the tinitus to train our brain back to relaxing.
