We have officially made it to South America! We are starting this journey in Bogotá, the high altitude capital city of Colombia. Bogotá is actually the 3rd highest capital city in the world sitting at almost 9,000 ft above sea level. In this video we are taking a trip up the beautiful Monserrate Mountain via funicular to see the incredible views of the city.

1. Boyacá little towns super cute and picturesque (Raquira, pueblito boyacense, tibasosa, santa rosa, Nobsa and iza)
2. San Gil and cañon Chicamocha
3. Parque Tayrona, Santa Marta Guajira , Cabo de la vela
4. Quindío, Salento , valle del cocorra , filandia, etc

My family and I lived in Colombia thirty years ago. I was just talking to my sister about how we climbed Monserrate and walk the station of the crosses at Easter long ago. It was great to revisit the beautiful mountain with you! Feliz Pascua!

We have been in South America for the past 10 months (slow travel) and Colombia was one of our favorite countries. Love the food you can eat in Colombia, not just Colombia food, but all other dishes from around the world. Colombian restaurants are awesome. Enjoy your travels.

Ajiaco is the beeest. Take this chance to try Lulo! It's a fruit that's not seen in many countries and it tastes awesome! For deserts an Oblea is a must as well and the mango biche in the streets with salt, lemon and pepper. ♥

We haven’t been but it’s definitely on our list for South America 👍 When is the best time to visit?
@@SammyandTommy I would recommend two dates: Carnival (18-22/February) and New Year. On Carnival you would be able to go to the samba school parade, a huge event. On the New Year you could spend Reveillon on Copacabana beach, with very beautiful fireworks. But both are high season dates and should be reserved much before.
If you go to medellin go to Guatape... it has a large stone that you climb
I do hope you go to Cartagena.. it's the most romantic ciry....full of history

Not really apart from Ajiaco I can't think of other Colombian dish with capers.
