    My current nighttime skincare routine is altogether no different than any of my prior routines I've shared, and that's precisely by design. It's been my experience in the nearly three decades of caring for my skin that, more than anything, consistency of routine is THE KEY to both efficacy and long-lasting success. The boringness of consistently performed positive habits, plus waiting to see results and staying focused on your desired outcome requires discipline and patience, but the return on your investment will be well worth it.

    Consistency of routine is THE KEY to both efficacy and long-lasting success (this applies to anything in life, in fact). The boringness of consistently-performed, positive habits, plus waiting to see results and staying focused on your desired outcome requires discipline and patience, but the return on your investment will be well worth it. Your future self will say, "thank you."

    I am slowly but sure changing my skincare similarly to yours (accidentally!) first, I was prescribed tretinoin, then I felt that I don't need my prescribed facial wash anymore, I chose to use Cetaphil fw. Soon, I found myself using vitamin c (it's also prescribed by my doctor), later perhaps I will use castor oil too lol but I'm still finishing my eye cream. I will however try to use amlactin for my bumpy skin after finishing my body lotion. Thank you for your videos, the routine and the product recommendation all works for me. It's easier to stay consistent and loyal to the products when it actually works!

  • @janelopez7010
    @janelopez7010 Před 2 lety +10

    Jennifer from my own personal experience, I have found that a really good eye cream is essential to preserving one's under eyes. Although you do not use an eye cream, you do use something much more moisturizing on your eyes than the rest of your face, which is the castor oil. I don't think one has to use an eye cream but even an oil will help. I personally use a very emollient eye cream and it has made all the difference. That being said, I absolutely agree with you on so many things. I also do not believe in getting work done, and I love that you do this consistent skincare. I have been using Retin A and I am just starting to get glass-like skin here and there after peeling, after like 9 months of use, but I can only use it twice a week at this time. It is actually better for aging to use the same ingredients and not change it up too much, which will disrupt the PH balance of one's face causing it to age more. Your skin is goals! So flawless. Hope you are well and so good to see you back on here! :)

    Your videos helped to convince me to talk to my doctor and level up to tretinoin, I have been using adapalene for 3 months and I wanted to try but was very scared. But your amazing results long term made me decide to definitely go for it! And I agree. When I bounce around with trying too many products my skin gets weird, when I stick to a product that is working I see better results. I have been trying to find a sunscreen that works for me lately though and that is hard I’ve tried a few and the only one I like so far is from Tula. Also for lips the cerave renewing night cream is wonderful, I also use it for my nostrils and tip of my nose, odd I know, but I live in a very windy coastal town and my nostrils get so dried and crack.

    A fun little thing: I've been on tretinoin for 1 year now, and my eye skin now tolerates tretinoin... This is from someone who used to struggle with eczema and broken skin a lot, even had a year ish long eczema flare excatly around the eyes because of a sunburn. I'm using Cordes Vas 0,05mg, which supposedly corresponds with 0,05%, and theres just not the same soreness happening as there was one year ago. That soreness was mostly the neck, but eyes really did seem off limits. Now i can put it anywhere in the face, next to no negative reaction. Did also probably build up tolerance having used 1%retinol arond the eyes during some of the process. Just an anecdote.

    hi jennifer! i've been following your channel since the start, and i just have to say a quick thanks for inspiring me to try out castor oil! -- i have since incorporated this into my routine. while it is extremely nourishing around my eyes and a blessing for my once over-plucked eyebrows, i've noticed my acne scars starting to heal faster, and overall the condition of the skin on my face has improved drastically. maybe it could be the help of other products i use, but castor oil really got the ball rolling for me. thank you again!

      You'd like Dr Dray's (dermatologist) channel. She's good at educating people about ingredients and not spending $$$, but instead $ on a few time tested dermatologist recommendations that are easy to find locally. She also has info on castor oil.

      My tretinoin is very hard to apply too and doesn't spread easily. I recently have been putting a very, very tiny amount of moisturizer on my face beforehand and have found that the tretinoin spreads much better after that.

    Hi Jennifer, Thank you for posting this! I really hope you can help with my questions. I noticed in your video, you don't wait for your skin to dry before tretinoin or the tretinoin to dry before you apply moisturizer. Is that how you really do it or is it back to back for the video? Also, do you put any tretinoin on your under eye area at all? Have you ever applied under your eyes? Do you just use moisturizer and castor oil for that area? I have seen people says tretinoin is good for under eye, but I feel like its not helping... please tell me what you do, your skin is amazing!!

    Looking for something else to try - recommendations welcome!

    Your videos are so lovely. Thank you. Do you massage/tap the castor oil around your delicate eye area? Just wondering, as I have used it for my lashes, but would have thought too heavy for the skin around the eyes, but your skin looks so well. Grateful for your reply. 🙏

    Hi Jennifer, I've been watching all your videos. I love them. Can you please tell me the manufacturer of the Atralian generic tretinoin you use? I am going to the dermatologist this week . I would be very thankful for prescribing information. I know you use the generic for the brand Atralian tretinoin gel 0.05%.
