I think people buy high end cars because they can. Sure a tuned GTR may out run a high car, but it will NEVER BE A HIGH END SPORTS CAR.

There are a lot of GTRs that is faster than this one, tho most of them are 1/4 mile monsters like ETS G, Alpha Queen, George's GTR, and the Alpha Logic GTR.

***** it's impressive that a 3.8L v6 managed to beat the larger engines that had enough power to peg dynos at their 2000hp sensor cap. conventionally, the larger diplacement motor would have more of an advantage had they been able to access the budget to get more either a quad turbo going or larger turbos. but apparently at a rolling start at speed, the lower rotational mass of the v6 and lower overall mass of the GTR might have played a role in the crazy acceleration when compared to the lambos

I do think that the gearing and shift time of the Lambo kills the race.
Those Lambos are tapped out at 2000hp. Most have went up in flames with that kind of power. The 1 in Russia had nitrous for top end boost. I think it was over 2100HP from what I remember.
So what? The alpha 16 is quicker. Remember it uses stock gear ratio. At 6400rpm 6th gear the top speed is somewhere around 193-196mph.
Even the GT R is tapped at it's extreme power level. I hear AMS has a billet block in the works. Yeah GT R maybe be quicker but engine did go on last run. My point is still inline.

This GT R puts the power down similar to the Audi UGR had out a few months ago. Those Lambo's are RWD because of tranny and drive train issues.
Traction seems to be a issue in some of the runs.

Agree. However, the Lambo is AWD some with E-gear some with Manual. The whole point is gear ratio. You can see, they both off the light quick while both hitting their max rpm. Once the Lambo shift to another gear, it drop then again and again. Same as Viper TT and TT Supra.

LoadingSundew4 I think the problem people have is the fact that they had to go drag wheels to fit giant MT ET Streets on it while the Lambos are on stock sized wheels and tires. The Lambos are true street cars, and the Omega is a one of a kind shop car with drag gear. Congrats to AMS just the same, but do it in a stock wheel and tire size configuration like the Lambos and that would shut a lot of people up.
Even haters have to love something other than UR won the event.....that just makes UR have to make a better setup. Better competition breeds better cars. That's a win for true car enthusiasts.
Curveball its a shop car developing the Alpha 20 Kit, last year the car had the Alpha 16 Kit and so on before that. You will be seeing plenty of them once all the testing has been done.
TurboGSR96 I know what the Omega is.....and every year you hear about a Alpha kit that is 'coming' and every year the UR cars were winning. It's a monster setup, and it's great they won with it.....I see it's win no different than I saw the Corvette that won a few years back......the point is though, that the Lambos are privately owned, and on true street setups for wheels and tire sizes....the Omega isn't. Put the Omega on stock wheels and tires sizes and see if it can compete against the Lambos. It winning on the drag setup by only one car against Duhawks Lambo on a true street setup makes me more impressed with the Lambo than the Omega.

I don't think that people are hating the GT-R in general. The price/performance of the car is pretty incredible, no doubt. Personally I don't like the design, it is basically a box on four wheels, but as I said that's just my opinion. Overall, there is nothing wrong with the Nissan GT-R itself.
The real problem this car has are the supporters behind it, read the comments here for example. Be just a little bit negative and you will get insulted by a bunch of retards. The whole fanbase around the Nissan GT-R is just so disrespectful and arrogant towards any other sports cars that the car itself has a really bad reputation.

The GTR comes forced induction, and labmo is NA so technically the lambo should have much more headroom for making power. In addition to having almost twice the cylinders and literage..
Jake Gelly Adding turbos aftermarket is not the same as enhancing one from the factory.(especially since the car was special for acceleration) Your engine aargumentis backwards. The GTR v6 pushing 2000HP is definitely the better engine than the v10? How can nobody understand this.
I wasn't talking about how it comes stock. Im talking about what is capable of after rebuilding the engine with lower compression so it could take more psi, new ecu etc. you could take the lambo further with unlimited money is what i was getting at. it is technically capable of more. the GTR just has far superior engineering, thats why it wins.

+Budd Joe - That is why a GTR is not my car of choice. Having the auto trans takes most of the fun out of driving a sports car for me. Don't get me wrong, GTRs are nice for sure, just as many Italian and German cars are. If absolutely the quickest acceleration is your choice, semi-autos or dual clutch transmissions are the quickest. I had a dual clutch but I personally prefer a proper manual for my sports cars. Most people that can afford the Italian and German exotic cars are middle aged or close to it and they prefer not having to row through the gears with a manual, now the semi-autos are available. That is why most manufacturers no longer sell manuals.

AMS builds the fastest GT-Rs in the world. There is more to come from this car. It just did a 7.7 in the 1/4 mile yesterday. And there is more power to be extracted from the platform.
