  • Hey everyone! It's been a little while since my last update, so I wanted to fill you in on what I've been working on recently and my plans for April.
Since the last video, I've been completely immersed in learning how to spin yarn. I picked up a spinning wheel a few months ago, and it's been such an incredible journey so far. As a total beginner, there's definitely been a steep learning curve, but the process of taking raw fiber and transforming it into yarn is incredibly satisfying.
I've been experimenting with different fiber types like wool, alpaca, and even some cotton. Each has its own unique qualities and challenges when it comes to spinning. Right now, I'm working on improving my consistency and being able to spin finer weight yarns.
On the knitting front, I've had a few projects going simultaneously which i'm keen to tell you all about.
Overall, I'm just having an absolute blast as a new spinner and experienced knitter. This community is incredibly welcoming, supportive, and creative. There's so much to learn, but I love being able to connect with passionate fiber enthusiasts from around the world. I can't wait to share more of my spinning and knitting adventures with you all!

Thanks for the recommendation about Yarn Etc. Next time I go to Harrogate I'll try to pay them a visit. Regarding a big shawl, I'm currently knitting the Hiraeth by Flossi knits. It's actually made with DK weight and you cast on all the stitches and decrease one stitch every right side row. It's a lovely design and really good that you decrease the stitches rather than increasing them 😊
