The BlackWarGreymon alternate art is my favorite too! I would argue it actually is a good card... as long as you can guarantee you're playing against Bloomlordmon.
Yeah it is actually not bad in particular match ups or even situations where you need more swings to clear a board. I have been in game I wished I had him lmao. Get two swings off and could not deal with the board and lose.
This was literally the card i thought they used for the concept of ace cards
Still love malomyotismon. Maybe with the newer ace myotismon he can sort of slot in again. The latter bt8 is fun but also slow
Hexeblau was actually my ace card in a chaos sealed event - somehow the more chaotic, incoherent nature of a sealed event really allowed that card to thrive.

1st ever tourney win was with Hexblau. As you pointed out, he did not do any damage, but with the Ulforce bt2 as the 2nd lv6, you can do good burst damage outta no where.
i think/believe that the new bt14 ikkakumon can help hexablau, inherited "opponent digimon with less digievolution sources than this card can not attack"

Played the hell out of Hexeblau when I first started the game. Felt like it actually did pretty well into Gabubond with Majira but struggled into pure swings like Jesmon. Definitely could've been a peripheral deck for that BT6 format, but was underexplored because the best decks were obvious

Thanks fam 😊 yeah ive been thinking of what kind of video topics to make, i honestly think Digimon has a lot of untapped potential, there are TONS of cards that deserve some love that havent gotten any.
DexDorugora has such good synergy with GranDracmon but until BT14 dark animal didn't have enough support to compete even on a casual level. I tried looking to see if there were any tops since on the JP side and haven't seen one yet. Hopefully they'll shine eventually.
The 5 cost didn't help tbh

I really tried to make most of these work too. Hexeblau especially. Always seemed like it was a set behind.
I'm a dedicated BlackWarGreymon player and I've been trying to make every single version of the card work. I've been trying to sneak BT2 BlackWarGreymon into as many traditional lists as I can but I always end up taking it out. It really always feels like copium. I tell myself the infinite attacks wins me the Belphemon, MetalGarurumon, and Chaosdramon matchups but it almost never comes up, or doesn't come up in a way where I couldn't have just won in other ways instead.
I found that the main issue is that it's inherently reactive; the whole advantage of infinite attacks is that you can take out something with lots of layers of protection, or a very wide board. That means for it to be useful, you have to have already ALLOWED your opponent to get a huge stack with protection, or a very wide board. BT8 BlackWarGreymon is more proactive as it shuts down tamers when digivolving, and of course X and Gaiomon apply tons of pressure themselves.
That said, I DID pull it off exactly ONCE in tournament against a Belphemon player to take out every single Gizmon that kept replacing themselves AND the Sleep Mode and it was the hypest thing; even my opponent was impressed. It was definitely win more, but at least I can say I made it!
I wrote this before finishing the entire video and I see you mentioned similar criticisms with Hexeblaumon. The raising area mechanic definitely makes control somewhat inconsistent
I am also a a dedicated blackwar player and I will say as a one of in bt15 will not be a bad choice. Melga is fast it will have protection guaranteed and board are getting wide no doubt about it. I believe a one of tech is not bad.
As much as we dont wana admit it, the 4 cost evo still hurts without an on-digivolve effect too... bt8 blackwar guarentees value if the turn passes but bt2 doesnt sadly :(
Having enough mem to go into him before the turn passes can still be a challenge
I agree, the 4 cost hurts a lot since you have to specifically set up boosts to not pass turn. BT8 sometimes 4cost is HELPFUL because you can start at 3, delete the memory tamer and then choke them to 1 haha.
It will be cool to see if it makes a comeback in BT15! I'm honestly surprised they haven't printed a new one yet. WarGreymon's already gotten like 3 more since the last time we got a new BlackWarGreymon.
It helped me win a store championship with my bwgX deck. I ran it as tech as a 1 of to board clear Vs bloomlord and melga by just beating over everything and the evolving into BWGx to control the table.
BT2 Agumon was used all the time in 1.5 Ceresmon, deck needed all the DP it could get to try and swing over the big boys in Red Omni.
Yeah, but that's about it. Green's history is so wonky, its had some of the most busted cards in the game history, leading to insane dominance up until sudden drop-offs due to bans 😅
At least DexDorugoramon has hope with SoC Dorugoramon line.

And now Rust Tyrannomon gets an ACE card. And I think the bt-2 Tyrannomon can still see some play in Tyrannomon decks. It can easily be a 1300 to 1500 monster with inheritables and tamer effects if you using the deck right. The green/black one might still be better just with how cheap you can get a 1300 (probably 1500-1700 with the same inheritable and tamer effects) monster.
Yep, I think sadly the ace is the final nail for BT2 rusty. Why attack one unsuspended digimon when you can instead suspend down the entire field, for cheaper cost, with higher dp, and a security trashing effect, plu the blast digivolve mechanic 😅 its everything BT2 rusty wanted to be but vastly improved.

Love my Hexeblau deck. It has a low win rate, but you feel so cool freezing out your opponent while you drown in memory

@@AvidHerpetologist promo Vikemon is a good supportive Ultimate for the deck, especially with BT12 Paildramon
I really hope hexeblaumon gets some support or a new card itself in the future, my absolute fav digimon and the whole reason I started getting into the TCG

I will say blackwargreymon could of been used in bt8 during armor rush as you can swing over all the bodies and control the board
I def tried at the time! I think a lot of people probably did, but not having a black to evo onto other than bt8 metalgrey was rough 😬
@@AvidHerpetologist yeah it was, I was playing a 4 bt8 metal and I believe either 2 or 3 ex1 metal but only 1 or 2 of the bt2 bwg as it was a tech to counter armors to clear the field. I have it posted on my channel if you want to check it out. It was a magical time

This maybe hazardous amount of copium but I Honestly believe bt2 RustTyrannomon will make a come when the new Ace Rusty boy comes out hopefully😭
Ive been trying out tyranno builds on the online sim and... im sorry brother, the copium cant sustain him 😭 the funny and tragic part is the ACE removes any remaining need for bt2 because why attack one unsuspended digimon when you can suspend down the whole board 😭

One of my favorite digitubers in the early days of the game was TrueChampionSteven, and he had me building the Red Tyranno Rush deck as my first ever deck! But given ya know, the state of the world at the time 😅 i never got to play it in person against anyone 😭 im currently working on a list for bt15 that yses the insane new Tento and Palmon though!! Green finally has some great generic bottom-ends that Tyranno can use
@@AvidHerpetologist bt14 and 15 definitely give Tyrannomon and Dinorexmon some new life. I remember Truechampionsteven from black then as well, tho to be honest I often found that in the Digimon tcg a lot of meta decks were just hyped up to be more than they were, or were very popular digimon.
@dinodude2597 bro that is 100% true, there were a TON of decks that got overhyped and underdelivered. And so many that got no love that could easily steal events 😂
The secret rare blackwar can definitely be used now I am going to run a one of in bt15.
Ive been testing hexeblau with the new bt14 stuff, its a fun deck, but its too slow and has no real way to finish games.
It's like a curse for all card games.
It's always the big guys that suck.
