- There is a chance that you might not have heard of the brand until recently, but Jawa has enjoyed a cult following for decades. Back in the day, the brand had managed to hold its own among the likes of the Bullet, BSA and the Yezdi.
Now, Jawa is back with all guns blazing.
It gets a modern 293cc liquid-cooled engine developing 27bhp and a competitive price tag starting at Rs 1.55 lakhs. And with two production bikes and one factory custom offering the perfect balance of retro and modern, Jawa seems to have covered all bases.
But things aren't going to be easy, especially considering that it will go up against a behemoth - the Royal Enfield Classic 350. Until we get our hands on the Jawa, Aniruddha answers three questions that will clear up the air on where it stands.

When I was a kid, I used to sit behind, later on the positions interchanged (with my hero, the Gun Master....my Father) but the bike did'nt changed for more than three decades, first Jawa, second Yezdi & third Yezdi classic Cl-II. Currently using Honda but definately the 5th one could be Jawa-Classic.The recent launch revived the old memories & sentiments so nicely, only speech less here with tears. Mileage could be an issue, but hope the new journey of Jawa be a mega success, with a big salute to Mr Anand Mahindra & his team. Though I also have doubts too over some points.
So I decided to show this video to my dad to let him know that Jawa is bringing its motorcycles back and he had this big smile on his face like he found his favourite toy back from his childhood. He started researching on Jawa in such excitement like his dream just came true that Jawa has returned. I had always listen about jawa bikes from elder crowd like my Dad , grandpa and many more .The most common thing is that they have a positive feedback and emotional attachment towards jawa. Because it has the retro looks , it’s classy and eye catching and one more it’s value for money machine ... Jawa will definitely capture the market as compared to Enfields and some other segment motorcycles. Personally I would like to have this bike and it’s completely a great pack with mouth watering price. In back, when Jawa came to end , motorcycle enthusiasts were really disappointed .. but now after the rebirth of this joy machine people will love it as they have got their dead family member back.... lots of Love for Jawa 💖

I live here in Mysore where jawa factory actually was, one could see the craze for jawa and yezdi here as people still shine these bikes like new and carry them as a status symbol. As soon as it got launched I knew it will make it's mark on the market as it looks same as before and damn the marketing cause they launched 3 bikes not 1, thus appealing to all kinds of people.Long time monopoly in the much loved 300-400cc modern classic category is now broken.RE needed a competitor and it has arrived.
Jawa is not just the motorcycle it just an emotional and sentimental motor cycle. My father owns a yezidi b type motor cycle... For almost nearly 9 years it has been not used... Then I thought to repair it. My father said it's really waste of time
I said, it's my childhood I spent on this bike it's an emotion and sensitive part of my life to ride this bike for once having my father on back. When he said about selling o his bike I stopped him and said you don't have any knowledge of this bike. This bikes will be releasing soon... And finally Mahindra made it.. and my father is no more.. if he would be then I would have shown him these bikes and I felt very bad and felt happy for releasing the bikes..... Thank you so much Mahindra...

The JAWA boys are not in an age of driving it again. But they are happy to see it's back. Interestingly, the bikes that have come out is fully resembles to to old ones. Mahindra has done a great work. If it's able to give same excitement of riding It's going to hit the top spot in the category. Best wishes for JAWA.

All eyes on Perak, because this bike is something that the hipster millennial will have an eye out for. Also, the minimalistic styling gives me a good feeling about the Czech manufacturer. Harley is making a lower CC engine to fit into Indian market, which would only mean that RE has a competition and a challenge to win.
Damn! It's hard to control the heartbeat after watching JAWA but can we just sit back and think about the video editing for a second! No other can beat you guys in quality video production! From music to camera angles!
And thank god, now we have a real competition to RE! They literally stopped innovation in 300-350 category due to lack of competition!

Looks like something that would pinch RE where it lacks the most, customer service, and the pricing is cut throat too, the build quality is something like a ray of hope.... fed up RE enthusiasts now, need not think of getting back to activas.... :)
I am just waiting for the road test by you guys and if everything is on the positive note Jawa will have another booking. I want you guys to answer the following questions in the upcoming in depth review of the 42.
A) Does this Vibrate too?
B) Is having a rear drum really a matter to be worried about?
C) Is the fit and finish really worth the price they are asking for?
D) The gear shifts, are they clunky or smooth? (also including the clutch feel)
E) Lastly is Jawa going to be the Chevrolet for India if things turn sour?

For E really jawa has a really good fan base and mahindra being in two wheeler market for long time as of now this bike will sell like hot cakes and will revive the brand if you really want to buy this bike buy it after feb by that time if there is any fault in engine it will be optimized

My father was really a big fan of YEDZI JAWA and now i'm too....
I recently watched a movie ONE WEEK where the protagonist rides a 850 cc NORTON COMMANDO British bike.The longing for a same one week journey had one obstacle...availability of only Royal Enfield which despite good quality vintage value gives utter discomfort over long rides. I have rode almost all RE's but it became an imposed decision rather than a free choice due to monopoly.
JAWA you just came in time to save us from Midlife Crisis and long distance unwinding rides without discomfort and riding woes....Hats off to your makers....

I was amazed that Jawa gives 28bhp power with 28Nm torque with its 300cc engine beating the royal Enfield 350 cc which gives only 19.5 bhp and 28 Nm torque.
Moreover heard the same sound of two stroke has been restored ...
And they have launched with bs6 emission standard really it would have been a challenging task for them .

It sure will be. RE has a lot of problems. If Jawa is half good as it sounds, it will beat RE. And they deserve it for taking advantage of monopoly and treating customers with and like shit.

My dad use to have one of these back in time, Hopefully i am wanting to surprise him with the new one's by early next year. I see it as a right time to give him back for all that he has done for me in Past, Present and also Future. He will be watching this video next!! Expecting a road test soon.

RE bikes have always been a problem for a short guy like me but jawa has managed to solve that problem.

The Jawa twins have definitely increased competition in the 350cc Thumper segment. But apart from the Jawa fanboys/aficionados, it will take a lot on Mahindra's part to actually cause a dent on the RE sales numbers. However, if Mahindra had launched a Perak, and created two Jawa customs (the other way round), there would have been a lot more takers for that looker of a bike. I am pretty sure a lot of the viewers have the same opinion. #LaunchThePerak

PD . You've done it again the most apt first look video with just the right content. I owned a yezdi and have been crying for two decades for the lack of heartful motorcycles.i never liked the thumb of a RE because was used to the milder hum of a yezdi. Was the most ecstatic soul when I heard jawa are coming back and i want to gift my father his fav. Toy again . It could not get better than the jawa 300 . The nostalgia is high and I salute the classic legends does this amazing product. To the PD army . Salute to the respect you give to the vehicles and the content you come up with.

Don't know how to express my happiness. I have dreamt about jawa bike since my childhood. By getting older jawa reserved itself to vintage section and I always wanted buy an old jawa and restore it.

When I showed my Grandpa the video of the launch and the photos yesterday, I saw that 78+year old man almost in tears as if he had just seen someone being brought back from the dead, the gleaming look in his eyes , told the rest of its story itself, the story of how he sold his bike(his beloved black Jawa 250 A type) in order to build a house for his Family, needless to say the word Jawa is more than a name , it's an emotion, an emotion full of nostalgia and charisma.
