One time I was at my job and I found a banded pigeon in PA and I tried my hardest I knew nothing about it I called like the game commission and everyone to help me find where the pigeon came from because he was so tired he was just resting at my hotel that I worked at outside he let me pick him up and everything so I knew he was somebody’s bird it was such a cool experience and ever since that moment I wanted one or several lol

I’ve attempted to trap wild pigeons in a barn before with no success. Is the trap specific to pigeons, is feed your using the key to success or can I use wild bird feed? When I’ve tried this not in the barn, we only catch Magpies. How many pigeons should I have to train one puppy?

Not hard if they are hungry. Open your traps ans fill them with feed!

Can I just trap pigeons at my parents farm and train my GSP with them? I just don’t want her to get sick or an infection of any sort?? I’m new to the GSP life of hunting! My GSP is 7 months old. I want to start training her in the field this spring.

I’m looking into birds for upland in Alaska, I would eat normal game birds I can use up here like quail and pheasant when killed over a dog for training. What do you do with the shot pigeon to dispose of it?

It sounds like you are asking what we do with our birds after we are done using them in training. We usually donate them to a falconer here locally that uses them for his birds. But due to the medications we give them in their water to help keep them healthy for training, even the game birds like pheasants and chukar we wouldn't recommend eating.
