I'm a goalkeeper aswell and for me this is really inspiring. I broke my collar bone and fractured my wrist and I thought that it was tough to get back after 12 weeks of sitting out. I cant imagine what she went through after all that surgery and trying to get back into the game. I'm Irish but I am rooting for USA in the FIFA Womens World Cup Final tomorrow and I hope someday, to be as good as her and as much as a role model to other people, like she is to me.

@KhiyaLuv I hear you!! I played college ball when I tore my ACL and Meniscus. I also suffered degenerative quad and hamstring because of an immobilizer. Now It's been almost a year since the injury I'm working my butt off to be back in the cage! I'll be back this coming summer, and when I do, I'm coming with a vengence! @Tedsta101, because the goalkeeper of Brazil moved off the goal line before they kicked the ball, and the goalie HAS TO stay on the line until the ball is kicked. Then we got another shot, and made it :)

@Sersoke Goalkeeper injury. 150lbs of weight driving your shoulder into the ground for 10+ years can do accumulative damage. Hope's was way worse than they thought when they started the surgery, but they repaired it and she beat the odds and came back early from rehab to play through the pain with the help of cortisone shots. Golden Glove in the WC and not even at 100%. She's a beast. It still hurts her and it will likely be something she just has to live with from now on.
