@@drillingrigworklife Anytime, I like it up there but my feet wouldn't cooperate on the fingers. Best place to stay clean and literally probably one of the easiest jobs on the rig. No offense, it takes a good Derrickman to fill that position. I envy you, wish I would've been younger before I went to the Bakken Field.

I've never seen a derrick man sit down to run pipe...
I have a couple time watched a guy foot latch a stand from his butt. Had a Derrick hand that worked in Wyoming for 10 years and all he could latch was short pipe. We pulled a well and some of the stuff we had to put subs on to keep from falling out the Derrick. Henwas an ace at that but tall pipe?... didn't mater if the floor hand swung them and the elevators hit him in the hands at chest height he couldn't latch.
This huy had the balls of god with him
The goal is to go as fast as you can and never miss. 30 years and I miss it everyday.

good rig crews will run in 5th gear while others will go in a lower speed. Thats not a drill, the main blocks hanging by the steel cables are called blocks while the things that latch the pipe are called elevators.
