I wish I didn't miss this. Been a long time follower. Keep it up man I love all your content.
Missed the stream but will watch it all. Looking to get started in the hobby
And once more, Lock Noob nails it big time! Kudos!
I really enjoyed watching the livestream. The thing that encouraged me the most was to see that you actually struggled a bit with some of the locks. I've only been involved with lock sport for a couple of months and sometimes it can be a bit discouraging to see some of the CZcams videos where they make it look so easy and you wonder why you're not advancing more quickly. It actually helped my attitude to see that even someone who has been picking for awhile isn't able to pick any lock within a few seconds. Thank you and I'll keep practicing.
The video you usually see are the 5 minuites it took on the occasion of a successful pick attempt, they dont include the sometimes several hours of filmed attempts that werent successful.
Very true when it comes to entry have several different plans of attack be ready for several types of methods.

Thank you for your videos. Being a machinist, welder, mechanic, and an electrician, I've waisted so much time drilling, cutting and ultimately destroying locks because of lack of knowledge. On the mechanisms used to open them. Currently i need to get on off a rented shipping container. Can't open left door to get wide items easily. Anyway its a huge well made lock and it will be my first real test to save a lock instead of destroying a precion crafted tool. If i have a problem, i will, I'll write back with lock brand and tools used to pick. Thanks i have a new hobbie and get to buy more tools.
We hear you loud and clear broski.. Im here 4 the 8 week training course 😎
Keep it up bro ❤️🙌🏼🙌🏼 love to watch you always 🔐🔓
Im so bummed I missed this! 😫💯
Hello thankyou for your videos. You have kept my mind going learning the sport of lockpick. Just a quick question with the new strong impact guns do you think they could twist certain locks around? Or would the cam or lock explode?
Thankyou for your time
I have a question I just started picking about a week ago. I bought the sparrows progressive training locks. And I can pick almost any 5 pin lock now. That does not have security pins the only issue I am having right now is on pins that are zero lift. I find it really hard to detect them And I always over set them. Is there a technique or a way to tell if a pin is a zero lift?
sorry I missed the live Ash mate awesome tho 👍😊😎👊🇬🇧

Hey there. I recently subscribed, cool video. I'm just starting with lockpicking (I've tried it in the past, its something I go back to now and again). I'm looking for a half way decent set. I checked out your videos on the subject and I quite like the look of the Sparrows Tuxedo, but I'm just wondering if you've ever heard of/used The Spirit set by Sparrows? It focusses on hooks rather than rakes (I'm not much of a raker, honestly). If you have come across The Spirit, what's you're view on it? Cheers, man. :o)
Hooks are better for learning from. Rakes are good for bad days. A mixture of both is what i usually do. I use a sparrows locksporters set city rake or wave rake (bogata) to set a couple pins, then go in with a hook to set the rest. Recently i bought the Dangerfield Praxis set, which has similar profiles in two thicknesses, but im finding them too smooth personally.
Oh, and dont forget its just as important to have a selection of tension wrenches too. The three standard Z wrenches known as wiper blade insert tools and the three Top of Keyway wrenches preferably the ones with the serations is a good minimum to start with.
@@penfold7800 Thankyou for both of your comments. Yeah, I don't really get on with rakes that well, I prefer using a hook. As for the importance of tension wrenches, absolutely. The reason I'm looking at the Sparrows Spirit set is that it feels hook-centric.
Ive just had a quick look at the Spirit set. If memory serves correct, those picks should be 23thou, which is the standard useful thickness. It looks like the same picks as in the locksport set that i bought from them, except for one slight difference (two differences if you count the posable stand-up case instead of this slimline one); My set has Short hook, Medium hook, Reach hook and a Half diamond instead of the Euro hook. The city rake is what i nicknamed my 'lock killer' as its slightly not as high as the standard city rake but has good points on it and I use it by inserting it fully, then wiggling it loosely between my thumb and index finger while 'bouncing' tension. It opens nearly all of my older cheap chinese and indian locks, hence my nickname. I get on best with the medium hook for spp. You will find that all these picks get in further than some others because the shaft is nicely narrowed down. I had a joyous lightbulb moment when I first got this set. I did cut back some of the coating on the shaft end of the handlesp, but thats just personal preference. Theres no filing or sanding needed. Theyre usable streight out the set as-is. They arent silky smooth though, like the Dangerfield Praxis set, but I really like that cos it allows for nicer feedback and stability on pins imho. I would only add that later on, getting the Dangerfield TOK 5xDouble-ended tensioners set is a next step for greater flexibility. Im not a pro, or locksmith. Just an old engineer with an interest in lockpicking.
@@penfold7800 Excellent. Thankyou so much for such a detailed answer. :o)
