Thank you for joining my live stream! It’s was a great fun 2 hours 😃 it ended when my battery died. Sorry about that!
New to lock picking and found your channel and i thought going into lock picking id be deterred by how complicated all the different locks are and such but your channel has tough me so much and gave me the confidence i just recently bought a kit and picked my first lock and i just wanted to thank you because im now hooked😂 i love this hobby and plan to stick with it for years to come
Fantastic! Happy picking!
@@LockNoob The title of this video is called clone wars those companies that made those same locks are now at war The name sounds familiar it sounds like it came from the Star Wars franchise.
I dunno why, but these simple, squared style padlocks are my favorite.
So i just started picking a couple months ago. I am a H.V.A.C.R. tech and lock out machines frequently. So I've always owned multiple Amer. Lock 1100's. Was surprised to learn about their love in this sport. That being said i picked mine first time an hour into it and have successfully picked it many times have to admit still working on consistently doing so. Love your content keep it up sir.
I'm getting back into this hobby after a several-year break. I have a few American Lock 1100s but I remember from my last time that they're quite hard to get in the UK. I'd forgotten about Federal so thanks for the prompt about that brand. I'm still hopeless at picking any of these but I think learning some skills on these, with strong spring tension and smaller keyways, will help as I hopefully progress and diversify.
New to picking, and I really like this format. I feel like it is really informative, and its good to see you work through them out loud and in real time.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed. It was fun going back to them like seeing an old friend
Currently binge watching all your past live streams. I'm new to lockpicking, and finding them very informative. Just before your battery died, you were showing your windscreen wiper blade tensioners. I tried scavenging a wiper blade but the insert was really thin and flimsy. Is there a certain brand I should be looking out for?
Glad to see the Federal 500 getting some love. I love my one with a Yale core after figuring out how to set the 4 highest positions, and I've got another coming with...whatever a Corbin L4 is in it.
I hate how the Sparrow monkey paw pick has a massive handle. I wish they made a monkey paw inn regular pick size. How do you make them yourself? What tools would I need?
The monkey paw now comes in all sorts of sizes and thicknesses 😀
Thank you. So much to learn . Hands and skills like a surgeon.much thx.😊
True value hardware. Brand and store front. Ok gone to lunch, back to it in abit. 4 hours of great content so far. Lol wished I could’ve hit like on em all😂😝
I use my city rake 80% of the time successfully, even on Euro Locks with six pins.
True Value is a chain of hardware stores in the U.S. Along the lines of Ace, etc. they often use common low cost padlocks and have them put out their locks with their name on them.
Interesting thanks 🙏
What would it take to get a set exactly like yours there except the custom made one? Also how much would it be in USD?
Also exception for the stuff that's not made anymore
great live stream Ash mate really enjoyed it🇬🇧😊😎👊👍
Where did you get your case?
Kasp 14040 is one of my favourite padlocks to pick, also love the Yale 210 series for the pick in hand comfort, wicked video mate, shame I missed the live!
No worries, thanks for catching up on it!
Hi Noob, where did you get the pouch for your pics please, i would like to add some heat shrink to my picks. Sure they wont go back into the Multipick pouch when done. Thanks for the great vids.
I use a sparrows Sherman case
Thanks Ash. As nearly always, I missed the live stream. But it's been very interesting to watch the replay. The fact that you left it online is appreciated very much, because we can all learn from it. There's only one 1100 clone in my small collection; a Sepox, donated to me by Deadlocks. I've raked it open a number of times, but only SPP'd it once, and quite quickly. Off-camera, of course. 😁 The tolerances feel really sloppy, to the extent that the pins wobble sideways off the pick. So I made a thicker pick, to restrict that effect. It worked, the one time, so far. Maybe the spring is fooling me, as you suggested earlier in this stream.
Thanks! Yeah Sepox are a little janky
Loud and clear
Pity the video ended halfway through you picking a lock. That beefy chubb looks nice. If I had one I would like it better with a MulTLock core in it tho.
Yeah, I was surprised the batery lasted even that long TBH. Wish i'd been able to go on longer!
Missed the live show, and only watched a segment of the recording so far. (Wow. That's a long video)
But much interested in clones of 1100 series.
I have 2 1100 series locks with identical markings on the bodies, but the cylinders differ. One that seems genuine is marked with "A", and the other has a "K". I never noticed until I bought a lishi "AM5" that they have different keyway's. The lishi fits in the "A" but not in the "K". Are these 2 different keyway by American? Or is one a knockoff clone?
Sorry, i don't know about the Lishi
@@LockNoob OK, but does American have cylinders with different keyways the same way schlage does, or is one of my 1100s a fake?
Great vid! Missed the stream but nvr miss a vid ;) good show
Thanks!
Just watched the video, missed the live stream.
I thought you were going to say that your wife looked at the kids and said, " Oh look, dad's changing his name to David and going slaying giants".
Then one of your kids replied "He's not a confident giant slayer mum".
To which mum replied "Oh why not dear"?
Curious child says, "Well just look at the size of those things mum, he's trying to gain as big an advantage as he can".
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sorry LN just couldn't resist that, it came to me as you told the story. Judy want to say that you are a great inspiration, many thanks.
lol Roy
I can hear you
Haven't even watched the video but awesome! I love American lock only because its an actual somewhat decent lock in America we aren't spoiled for choice its ML trash everywhere you go
AL make GREAT cores
@@LockNoob oh yea, tap them and throw the pins back in is a quick way to advance the puck resistance
1100 core spring comment got me right in the feels lol :) cheers m8
It still gets me sometimes!
@@LockNoob Funny I'm just about to post a video of my pick n gut for later belt submission. lol Keep up the content. Thanks for all your videos. Cheers :)
Dang it! I missed the live! Sounds like #LOCKFORCE was represented at least.
Yes, really was, it was awesome!
Mini Noobs....
That was funny!!!!!
:-)
Kasp needs top of key way tension
i'll try that
@@LockNoob only ones that fit are the multipick champion tensioners
All good
Thanks!
As I'm watching this at 1:18:32 that you're not also a mechanic. I'm like, why isn't he using C-clip pliers in stead of that 'bloody' sheet of metal. Oh yeah.... Everyone isn't a mechanic & spends 30$ on specialty pliers you need once a year. As an American it felt wrong to say 'bloody'.
Hello brother
Hey locknoob
