    Dear Terry,
    What a marvellous contraption, perfect also for seeding your vegetables in your garden too!!! Great work. Kind regards.

    Wow, that appeared to work awesome. I've rented smaller ones for short electrical runs for some lights and they seemed like a waste. That larger one is the way to go but sadly in central N.Y where I am there is way to much rock. Love your videos and I'm envious of your beautiful spot you've created.
    Take care

      Hey Bill, it was effortless to operate that thing. Well worth a little extra expense.
      Thanks you for the compliments. This is a dream I have had since I was a child. I always knew that some day I would build my own home and have a small farm/homestead. Its been a long time coming. Having my son and daughter in law along with my wife and myself is icing on the cake. We gave up a lot of the frills of life and saved every chance we have had. Now it gonna pay off big time. Being debt free and having everything new at this stage in my wife's and my lives is gonna make for a great start to our senior years. Bring on the chickens, lol!

    Nice job. I rented one probably 20 years ago to install a gas line to my house. Man they have come along way from yester year. The model I used was with rubber tires it did a good job but wasn't nothing compared to the Bobcat brand. Take care Terry and Brian. Have a good week👍👍👍

      Thanks Dean. Yeah equipment has become high tech these days. It ran so smooth and Brian did not have to push or pull at it even once. Very simple operation. It costs a little more than the basic walk behind model to rent but the savings on your body when trying to do all the work we are doing is well worth the extra. You have a good week as well. And check back often, we are about to step things up a notch and start building soon!!

    Do you guys have a video of putting in your underground electric? Also did you hit any rocks doing this? Great video!

    • @ForestToFarm
      @ForestToFarm  Před 4 lety

      No we did not get a video on the electrical install because the power company ran it when we were not there. There is a video on installing the temporary pole though. Also we hit some small rocks but nothing big.

    I have got to trench a water line about 450ft through the woods and I was wondering if I could do it with a trencher with all the roots. I reckon I can! 👍🏻

    • @ForestToFarm
      @ForestToFarm  Před rokem +1

      We got it done 😁. Still planning of eventually removing any trees either side if the water line run within about ten feet or better. Don’t want any trees setting on top the water lines. Good luck!

    I’ve got a nearly half a mile of trench that I need to dig for my water line. I’ll need the ride in for that long of a run. Good job on the trench. You running pvc or hdpe roll pipe?

    • @ForestToFarm
      @ForestToFarm  Před 6 lety

      Actually we are ran Pex pipe. We ran 1" from the road and will eventually go into the houses then drop down to 1/2" to each outlet in the house. We plan to do a manifold with a cut off for each outlet under the house and then make a straight run to the fixture so far less connectors accept of course under the house which if there was a leak would not be the end of the world.
      The walk behind is a breeze to operate. We did about 300 foot in 2 hours. You could likely do close to1/2 mile in 6 or so. Good luck!

    Great vid and great channel. I have am wondering what kind of lapel mic setup you are using? Wireless?, and what you record to? Thanks.
    I am looking at recording video while operating equipment and you seem to have a good setup/balance.

    • @ForestToFarm
      @ForestToFarm  Před 4 lety +1

      Hey Andrew. The mic is a Tram TR-50. We run it into a voice recorder. Its a cheap recorder but being digital its all 1's and 0's weather you pay $1000 or $35. The recorder is a Sony ICD-PX333. It is no longer available but there plenty more taking its place. The mic is where its at. That mic will pick up your voice even when running a chain saw. Good luck!!
