My tack strip nails started chipping the concrete so I pre-drilled a pilot-hole with 1/8 inch masonry drill then a 1/4 inch bit inserted a 1/4 inch dowel securing it with screws. Used the same process for the transition board track and presto. I’m just a DIY’er doing my own laminate floors.

Seems to me that the carpet transition bump will get destroyed by foot traffic.
I’d be tripping over that edge all the damned time!

Agree this is a bad transition. The right way is a riser or have the vinyl floor match the carpet or carpet lowered, etc
