Hey Guy, just a heads up that the Battletech Clan Invasion box does not have the full starter rules… the Battletech A Game Of Armored Combat is the “base” starter box and comes with the full starter rule book. The clan invasion box is more of an “expansion” and comes with expanded rules for new tech and units introduced. Overall the game is a blast and not as hard as you’d think! And the new plastic models are beautiful!

Love to see some Battletech content from you in the future. As others have said you'll also need to pickup 'A Game of Armoured Combat' if you haven't already, and keep an eye out for the Mercenaries Kickstarter later in the year.

looks like fun! I did my first game convention last year at GenCon and it was beyond overwhelming. and I also picked up that same Battletech box! and waaaaay to many other mechs. would love to see some BT content on your channel if you enjoy the game. make sure your teeth are in good condition, cause its CRUNCHY.

Hey Guy, Thanks! it's funny that all these old boxes and models you show are things I have yet to do in my collection too! so it's inspiring to watch. I have just started my old box of 1990's Harlequins. And they are looking pretty cool with a modern paint technique I must say. And they have held up sculpt-wise too (blessed be the Goodwin - classic skill) I wish I had a way of sharing more of my stash with you too. I still have Tyranid Attack! :D (You are probably not lacking content but if you ever do.... it would be a cool feature. Guy paints my old "something" and auctions it... fer cheeeritty ... so it doesn't go to waste ;)

I had planned to try getting to the games expo this year, but I was in the end just not mobile enough. Maybe next year!
I have kinda fallen off track with the hobby since February when I managed to break my leg and ankle. Now I'm starting to regain some mobility I have been catching up on some miniature CZcams channels again. Hopefully soon I'll be on crutches and able to get to my work area again finally and get back to the models I was working on before my accident.

Wow if you get around to those interviews/painting videos it will be all time. Both the Naismith and Chambers vids were some of my all time channel favourites. Also, you bought second hand, even if unbuilt Warhammer, so that technically doesn't count as "new"!

Alpha Strike is a much faster paced version of the Battletech rules. Very fun. Looking forward to seeing BT on your channel.
I bought some Carnevale stuff from TTCombat, some Call of Cthulhu stuff from Chaosium, and some cassettes and a playmat for Escape The Dark Castle/Sector from Themborne.
But by far, my favourite purchase was a massive Burrito from the food trucks outside the hotel. 🌯

The nice thing about battle tech is it's rules and combat scalablity... So much so they released 3 beginner boxes each introducting uped in scale you bought the 3rd one with the most advanced rules... And the "Standard army" in battle tech is 4 mechs or it is beased on an afgreed opan battle value. Overall Battle tech can be worse then 40k but most of the time it's easier/cheaper.

The Clan invasion box is not a starter box for battle tech you need Battle tech game of armoured combat which is the correct starter. You can pick that up at shiny games and other games stores if available.
This a nice haul. Hopefully Hatty will be able to do similar paint jobs on the channel like painting the Christmas Goblin. Nice video. Keep up the good work.
Battletech does look very complicated on the surface, but it's actually surprisingly quick to pick up especially if you're just using Mechs at first. I'd stick to 4vs4 or 5vs5 while picking it up though.

I am heartbroken I didn't get to go this year. I went in 2018 (I think? Covid has blasted my Chronometer) and it was such good fun. I would have adored meeting the MWM crew there. Maybe next year

Was there Saturday I also purchased codenames duet ! And cascadia and a pocket game called tinder blox. I enjoyed it but was disappointed that a lot of big publishers where missing and no pre/early release available. Was expecting to find some good deals but wasn't anything different than shopping online.

You glanced over it in your opening footage of the event... you escaped the Horizon Zero Dawn stand unscathed...i did not...but the game seems fun, i've yet to give it a go but im gearing up to.... and the miniatures are interesting :) asides Tau i've never really painted a mech or mecha so it'll be fun. i got the main box, sacred lands and the thunderjaw boxes... the thunderjaw is amaaaaazing :)

That big bunny looks comical. I can thankfully say I don't need one for my own collection. Printed Obsession did a set last year titled 'Jerrys Circus of Horrors'. Which includes a Bugs Bunny looking magician pulling a person with an "Oh god how did I get here" expression on their face.

Cheers for the vid! You could try to reach out to Bob Olley (Iron Claw) if you want an interesting interview. He (like Goodwin) is one of my favourite rogue trader/oldhammer sculptors, he doesn't work for GW any more (although I wish they brought him back for the new squats). He used to be active on forums and had his own webshop (which sadly closed). He is really nice and tends to personally reply to questions and messages. I love his (space) dwarfs and ogryn, some call him the king of dwarfs ;)
You'll want to get the "game of armored combat" or beginner box to play battletech. If you like uno, try uno flip.
