Hahaha! I was a restaurant manager for years . You wouldn't believe how many people will stop in the afternoon, order a drink and fill out their application. The minute they were done with the application, my bartenders knew to file that application in the garbage!

While some choose to think of restaurant jobs as not "real" jobs, I only hired people that had some amount of class and a person that comes to a business at 1 pm orders a shot, beer, mixed drink whatever, then asks for an application, not worth my time. I also didn't allow my staff to drink at the bars in their staff attire, and at times they weren't permitted to drink at my bars at all. Nothing worse than seeing the person that just served you dinner sitting at the bar drunk and annoying. Of course, the restaurant I managed was/is family owned , elite and seating by reservation only. My customers didn't want to hang with their server of the evening.
