  • Sometimes I feel like a mom of two arguing kids when I bring Anders and Fenris with me; "Don't make me turn this Hawke around!" But we all know they only hate each other so much because they're so alike. Here on Sebastian's Act 3 quest Faith, Leliana gets to see what Hawke deals with everyday with their snide comments...
Note: Fenris and Hawke are wearing modded armor and Anders is modded.

Personally I romanced Leliana on nearly every play through of DA: Origins (with a few exceptions to Morrigan for character reasons).
My reason for liking her so much in Origins as a character, as well as a Romance, is that Leliana is a very understanding, sweet, loving and loyal person. Her only flaw being her unwavering faith in the Maker, which apart from the Chantry's teachings has no real evidence of existence. However she is never depicted as a zealot and has no issue with other peoples beliefs although she does challenge Morrigan a few times.
An example of this tolerance is if you play a Dalish elf I believe she shows an interest in your way of life and beliefs (I only played Dalish elf once so please correct me if I'm mistaken).
Her view of mages is they should be able to live comparable lives to the normal people of Thedas. Leliana says this when in the Fereldan Circle when talking to one of the female mages present with Wynn, who believes that magic is a curse and that mages should suffer. Leliana replies to her by saying she shouldn't feel that way because magic can also be a force for 'Good' and therefore a gift (understandably the term Good is subjective).
They completely destroy her character in under a minute in DA2 by having her say things like "we tolerated them", referring to mage fraternities who want freedom or saying if Kirkwall falls to magic none are safe.
A lot of people complain about how they killed her and then she reappears because bioware did a retcon without explanation, which is definitely bad writing, but another is if you convince her in Origins that she can be a decent human being without having to be locked inside a Chantry, why is it she is now so blindly subservient to the Divine.

Leliana never said "All mages should be free of the circle and chantry". Like Wynne, she respects wise mages and control, which the circle+chantry provide. If Kirkwall fell, the Divine would have to take action and the world would hate magic more.
This did nothing to destroy her character, nor is it bad writing to not reveal every secret. The resurrection of Leliana was on purpose, it makes as much sense as Wynnes resurrection.
Also, even if you do convince Leliana she can be outside the chantry: She is. She isnt in Val Royeaux praying, she is actively using her bardic skills to help the world for the Divine. And for you to say she is "Blindly subservient" is so wrong: Dorothea saved her life and has proven she is a good woman, anyone would serve her.

The First Warden is also very interested in how the new CotG in Ferelden manages his/her arling, and may potentially be invested in seeing the wardens gain more political influence throughout Thedas.

Before Justice, he just wanted to be left alone. After Justice, you're right, he didn't want peace. But he doesn't want every non-mage to suffer. Just those connected with the Chantry and those who subjugate mages. If he continues on the path he's on from the end of the game, though, he'll possibly become something like a magister and cause the world to fear magic even more than they do. :/

Justice -is- still a part of him, though. In Act II if you choose to bring Anders into the Fade, Justice is still alive and well. Or maybe it's not Justice, it is Vengeance who speaks, who has retained Justice's memories somehow.
The mages will never be free. Not unless they burn down the Chantry and all of its devoted priests, which will be nigh impossible to achieve when most of them believe in the Maker in the first place.

In which case, I don't really care if my character looks "combat-ready" to match her environment. Especially on the third playthrough and I don't see how wearing a low cut corset would make you equal to a prostitute, unless you're a Puritan or something. At best definition they are prisoners, and the templars their wardens. And it's not like mages arn't there for a reason, the circle holds a perpose, so don't go saying they should be let out unless you know of a better alternative to fade demons and blood magic. The Circle teaches them how to strengthen their will over such things.

He is the sum of Vengeance and himself, he is simply the host. I have no comment on whether or not he should be killed...Only that I know that he wants to be killed if you rival him because he realizes what he's become. If you watch my other video "Female Hawke convinces Anders to give up his plan" you'll see that he is taken over by Justice often.
