  • Finally put together a 2TC Video! Head over to www.customgearmodifications.com to pick your set up!
    Remember, the camera adds 120 lbs, and who trusts a skinny chef anyhow? The fat guys in the video make saddles to hold THEM...imagine what they can do for you!

    Appreciate the demo Jerry. I am really considering the 2TC this year as my primary climbing method and getting away from sticks for good.

    Interesting video. I am interested in whether you personally prefer climbing with the webbing foot tether or the Amsteel foot tether (both of which you showed). I am also not sure of what benefit the thigh strap offers. You hung from it but did not demo its real use/benifit in climbing.

    If you were to slip off the tree at the very moment you are raising your tether what kind of position would you end up in? Like as if your tether is now just sitting loosely on top of the bottom girth hitch.

    I like the idea. It's lighter than a climber, climbs the same limbless trees, costs more. For the money I'd prefer SRT and climb anything. I will say this method is lighter and not as expensive as every other method on the market.

    What foot loop is this?

  • @thomasliptrott3834

    I’d be afraid of dropping that foot tether while I was up in the air.

    • @haydenblake346
      @haydenblake346 Před rokem +3

      I would definitely tie some shock cord and a small biner to the foot tether and clip it to my belt loop to prevent this

  • @jasonard7227
    @jasonard7227 Před rokem +1

    that friction hitch on the foot teether is dame near impossible to adjust after weight has been on it I took the amsteel off and remade out of 8.5 mm oplux from a extra teether I had from an old saddle works a million times better and I added a tender on a schwabisch hitch instead of the prusik

    • @jasonruffin265
      @jasonruffin265 Před rokem

      I’m having the same problem. I can’t adjust the prusik at all after weight has been applied to the foot tether.

    • @jasonard7227
      @jasonard7227 Před rokem +1

      Make your own with bigger rope or buy another tether that has a loop on it and do the same thing they did just with the new tether and use a different hitch I can’t spell it but sounds like swab-ish hitch works much better then a prussic but it is directional good luck

    I'll give you guys credit for innovating, but yesterday morning it was 0 degrees on my hunt. I can't imagine messing around with those small parts and pieces in the dark at 0 degrees in my bib overalls and heavy insulated hunting boots.

  • @BenDownTooLong
    @BenDownTooLong Před rokem +4

    What I would like to see is for anyone to self film a hunt where they use these types of methods and mods in real world situations. Nobody doubts that you can climb using these sorts of set ups, it just seems like it would be impossible to do in the dark and cold.

      @anotheryoutuber_ Před rokem +1

      i use this now as an impromptu climbing setup cause its small, if im still hunting but want options. stiff boots make it much easier to navigate the near side of the tree for toe comfort. i have used it as a primary setup but ive mostly switched to two sticks for nasty weather or pre-scouted areas. never hurts to have more arrows in the quiver and this setup is fanny pack small in size but huge in terms of flexibility.

    There is absolutely nothing simple or practical about that unless you have a lot of gear to carry with you and not having steps would allow you to do that. Other than that one reason, I can't personally understand why anyone would go to all that trouble to climb without steps.

    • @jerrygrose468
      @jerrygrose468 Před rokem +1

      Have you tried it? I ask only because this seems to be the common response from folks making assumptions with no experience in the method. Not uncommon. As for "why", mainly for simplicity and laziness. Why carry sticks when a pocket full of ropes will get me there as effectively and efficiently. Just takes practice.

    This takes too long… By the time you do all this i am already up on on my wingman in 2-3 minutes w/ 3 sticks… imagine trying to make things harder when climbings sticks already take long lol… my self climber that i still use today from 10 years ago gets me up in 1minute 20-25 ft.

      @C_H_U_ Před 7 měsíci

      @@ThePhack3 You don’t know what you are talking about. I’ve been using climbing sticks for over 5 years and 4 sticks usually take me 5 minutes too… reason why I went to a 3 stick aider and can get up faster now. I’m sure at full speed this 2 tether BS would take longer. The only upside to this method is that you don’t have to carry 2 more lbs - also at the cost of safety lmao. Make it make sense lmao.

    • @ThePhack3
