2TC enthusiast here, thanks for sharing your experience, interesting use of the Blake’s hitch, I have been using the JRB 5-2-3 hitch, two or then on the top tether rope for bridge she’s high loop and one on the bottom four a foot loop. But have replaced the bottom one with a garda hitch. Two on the top gives me a bit of adjustment for the thigh loop, which is actually part of my saddle. Thinking hard on making a rigid saddle!

When using my rigid saddle hunting , I tie off to the upper tether eye and it is fastened to around my waist. I always remember using a safety tie in whether it be a harness, belt or a soft saddle .

Great video Scott. I went a little bit different direction with my 2TC. I leave a 30 to 40 foot rope intact, and tie a opening loop in each end to form the 2 tethers. That way I have double connection to my saddle and can rappel from either end/ tether.

I actually like what you have done especially being tied in at two points. That makes everything that much more safer . Good luck out there in the woods this hunting season.

How do you (the first I ever seen 2tc to hunt) not have a Kazillion subs. I remember your video sitting there with like 50 views forever. Then finally it caught on. I think people just get jealous or something. I tried this yrs. ago, when I came across your first video. I am too heavy n unbalanced. So, I went back to drt, with my giant climbing line, n steps (for when I couldn't get that dern throw ball in a tree). I have since come up with some rope pushers. Now I can 2tc, if I want to go in deep with a minimalist set up. I just push my rope up with the TAD POLES. They are half the length of the others. Almost 4ft. long extended, 14in. collapsed, and 12oz. So, I can sit in my saddle while moving my tether. I haven't videoed it yet, but I will. I have made a video called One Stixing like a BOSS. You'll get the concept from it. I hope you watch and comment. Thanks.

Things Jeremy, it is the fastest way I know to get up a tree with the least amount of effort and because your tethered to the tree the entire time one of the safest.

How do you like the straight board for feet to keep both feet at tree the same height style?

    Scott ,
First of all.. thank you for sharing your tree climbing knowledge. I just started hunting a few years ago and from the start I found your videos and have been climbing 2 tether ever since I started hunting out of trees. Second , could you do a video on the leg loop? It’s the only thing I don’t use. I always just sit in the harness when pulling up the foot tether, but it would be nicer to have a leg loop. Also how long does it take you to get up a tree with rough bark like oak? Thanks

hey brother, 5 year tree climber here. I've had situations in a tree that are simply unpredictable. I would suggest always being tied into a system that allows for immediate repel to the ground in case of emergency.

Hi Scott. Was wondering if it's possible to see how you sew the loops and eyes on this setup. Been trying to research it and nothing useful is coming up

Scott, i have watched your videos every year, past two years. I was wondering what happened to you. I noticed your most recent video was three years ago. I heard you say you don't like to post too many videos. I was hoping all is well. I was watching yesterday and today your two tether videos again. They are saved in my favorites. I was happy to see you have a new video only 3 days old.
I have read many of your comments in the videos. I have a question, i want to buy the same rope and i want to get my rope sewed as you suggest. Do you have any advice on how i can locate someone who may be available, knows their stuff and can sew my parts of my rope so i can try this system?
    Thank you for your videos.

Right off I don't know anyone to recommend you to. I hand sew my own but there is some good videos on CZcams on sewing eyes in rope. It is not too hard but it takes a little bit of time and it is important to use a good tread and the proper amount of stitches. They make a sewing machine just for that purpose but I don't know anyone that has one.

Hi Scott. Thanks for the new video.
Can you tell me why you use a rigid saddle instead of a soft saddle and what you use for a rigid saddle?

    • @scottadkins3771
      @scottadkins3771  Před 10 měsíci +1

Its a lot more comfortable for me and I don't need a platform to stand on . I made my own from a design that I seen years ago. I actually made two of them and have been using for at least 20 years or more.

@@paulcrave3112 I don't but one of my older videos that I have out has a rigid saddle I use in it and if I am not mistaking rigid saddle is in the title. Here within 2 weeks I am going to put out a video with my new rig and how I use it with my rigid saddle and I will talk a little bit about how I make my saddle and some measurements.
