Paul do you use Bio blend in your diesel. Most truck stops have a percentage of Bio mixed in. I have a 2019 3500 Dually and was told by my dealer that any bio mix in the fuel cancels the engine warranty. WhT have you heard?
Read p133-135 of your owners manual diesel supplement. Short answer, your dealer doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Here’s part of what it says. On a side note- if the diesel contains 5% or less bio, they are not required to post that information at the pump. Anything above a 5% blend will be posted at the pump. At the same time I have seen cooler temperatures in UT, CO, WY. Warranties come from the Manufacturer. A dealer cannot play games and change the terms of a warranty. When my wife bought her 2018 Ram 2500 with the 6.7L. The fuel from the factory was B-5. And the dealer topped off the tank with B-5 diesel fuel. The main benefit of additives is two fold. Getting rid of water. And providing additional lubrication for the pump. Of course the Extreme Clean additive, cleans the injectors and helps the DPF and Cat.
When I first saw the mega cab I knew that I had to have one. In 2006 ram developed a mega cab and it was available in a 1500 style for two years. What Ram did on the first year was put the 1 ton front end four-wheel-drive under a 1500 badged truck. It appears that they use the three-quarter ton rear end. After 2007 ram decided that why have a 1500 when they were building a three-quarter ton truck so after that mega cabs were only available in 2500 and 3500 styles. I found that 2006 mega cab in black Laramie with the hemi on the day before Father’s Day in around 2012. We still have it and no I will not let my kids drive it at this point we don’t want any harm to come to it. Using it for a hauling truck and an extra vehicle now that my wife has a new car. She drove the mega cab until she felt too old to climb up in it and about the sunroof leaking which we’ve yet to repair and fix the drain. In 2014 August we flew to Wisconsin and drove back to CA in a brand new 2014 Limited mega cab. It was the trip of a lifetime and to this day no regrets and we are up to 36,000 miles. Just bought an ARB fridge from your home state and it fits nicely in the backseat with one side folded down it seems like the ARB was made to fit that space. I looked at new crew cab this week at the dealer and it appears that that ARB fridge would not fit with 1/3 of the backseat folds down because it is only the mega cab that folds down with a 1/3 section behind the driver and because of the extra space the 64 quart ARB element refer fits that space perfectly and we so far are on a two week test of the reefer. Last trip of the problem was that the beer and the drinks were frozen so we are fine tuning it that we can keep ice in it for ice drinks plus not have the beer or the tuna frozen. The problem with the mega cab is the stupid 6’3” bed. Ram teased us at one point as far back as 2006 with the long hauler concept which was a ram 5500 limited in a mega cab version with a 9 foot bed. That would be the perfect answer to all the people needing to haul a cab over camper for what it appears the only suitable truck to do that legally would be a 5500 weight capacity truck. I am using my truck now without the arctic fox 990 camper and just carrying a rack with a boat and fishing and camping gear although I am dreaming of somehow to put on a flatbed and make that 8 to 9 feet long with built-in toolboxes without stretching the frame. All it takes is money and time and I just need to slow down and quit camping and do it. For those that do not know the issues of hauling an arctic fox 990 camper once you load it up with all your gear and 1000 pounds of family and dogs you’ll find on the scale that you are 16,300 pounds. That Dooley ram 3500 as a GVWR of 14,000.The truck will do that kind of weight and I even loaded the camper with 2000 pounds more of sheet rock to go to the cabin. Once you get your class A license though you realize that you need to stay within your weight limits and the truth is if you get in a wreck and are overloaded your insurance will not cover you. Welcome to the family of mega cab owners I say once you go there you will never go back to a small cab especially for the guys like me who like to bring way too much stuff with us. I also have three boys two of whom are way over 6 feet tall.
I won't consider a truck with the center console... Stick with the Limited and just add the center section. If you are buying an $80k truck ......what's a few more bucks to add the center front seat..... And you'll have the only Limited with a front bench seat 👍
Too bad Ram is slow about offering the 8-sp ZF Powerline transmission. You would be very statisfied if you could buy them. The Cummins VGT turbo is the best.
I made a tradesman into a big horn. Saves you 10k. I have all the power you can get and upgraded the axle and 50 gal fuel cell. I have a truck for a truck I don't need leather. I also have the 8.5" screen with apple and Droid play and there is no more tech that I need. I even have the trailer tow package that has 12 settings for your trailers. Only thing I wish I had was power seats but that's it.
The 2022s wont have 10 speeds they will have either a zf 8 speed power line , a 9 speed allison or both, GMs 10 speed allison is not a actual allison it's just got Allison's brand approval stamp. Who knows maybe they still will offer the aisin but knowing FCA they will prob keep the pos. 68rfe as the base trans, they seem to keep that pile around forever.
got to remember when they went with the new HO engine, they went cp4(bad) they have self adjusting valves so you don’t have to get the valve lash checked. it runs 5w-40 and although it warms up faster, my 40k 3500 4.10 burns oil. my 2018 same spec 180k doesn’t burn oil. 4th gen ftw for a reliable rig. 5th gen laramie in warranty for the newer aspect.

• A maximum blend of 20% biodiesel meeting ASTM specification D-7467 may be used with your Cummins diesel engine. (Pickup models and Chassis Cab models configured with B20 Capability.)
• In addition, commercially available fuel additives are not necessary for the proper operation of your Cummins diesel engine. However, if seasonably adjusted fuel is not available and you are operating below 20°F (-6°C), Mopar Premium Diesel Fuel Treatment (or equivalent) may be beneficial to avoid fuel gelling.
• No. 1 Ultra Low Sulfur diesel fuel should only be used where extended arctic conditions (-10°F or -23°C) exist.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS 131 Biodiesel Fuel Requirements
Chassis Cab Models
A maximum blend of 5% biodiesel meeting ASTM specifi- cation D975 may be used with your Cummins diesel engine. If operation with biodiesel blends greater than 5% but not greater than 20% (B6-B20) is desired, the truck must first be reconfigured by an authorized Ram dealer and the provisions in the following section must be adhered to.
Pickup Models And Chassis Cab Models Ordered With B20 Option
Your vehicle has been validated and approved for the use of biodiesel in blends up to 20% (B20) provided that you comply with the requirements outlined below. It is impor- tant that you understand and comply with these require- ments. Failure to comply with Oil Change requirements for vehicles operating on biodiesel blends up to B20 will result in premature engine wear. Such wear is not covered by the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
Biodiesel is a fuel produced from renewable resources typically derived from animal fat, rapeseed oil (Rapeseed Methyl Ester (RME) base), or soybean oil (Soy Methyl Ester (SME or SOME) base). Biodiesel fuel has inherent limita- tions which require that you understand and adhere to the etc etc etc

I’m trying to play it by the book in case CP4 issue. No fuel additives either. Have 1994 turbo diesel for sale used fuel additives for that and a 2015 Kenworth T680.

Going by Crowley lake on US-395 in winter. I have seen +4°f. California has been very warm for the past 30 years. Have not seen minus temperatures along any highway in the state.

My MPG went down prior to the injection pump going out.
@@stevenberta940 what year is your truck
Absolutely best time to sell used truck or trade in is now and past few months....
Don't sleep on the 68rfe it's a beast.
Too bad Ram is slow about offering the 8-sp ZF Powerline transmission. You would be very statisfied if you could buy them. The Cummins VGT turbo is the best.
I'd rather have the Allison
Lookin at a 2020 big horn right now. Trying to decide if I want that or just a tradesman.
Only thing I wish I had was power seats but that's it.
why was the center screen off? Im talking about that long 15 inch vertical one lol I don't know how big it was, but why is it off? Does it not work?
No he just turned it off, there's a bottom to turn off the screen
@@fma1468 Oh ok thanks! thought there was something wrong I started to get a little worried lol
GM made smart move and dumped German garbage CP4 and is using Denso Japanese injection pump and injectors. Denso pump cost a lot less vs Bosch CP4.
My older truck had cp3 pump, lasted for 320 ,000 miles
@@glenparks5175 cp4 has completed different design than cp3.
You ain’t getting rid of it.
Agreed, console is for chic's. Flip bench is a good truck seat
I do like my bighorn interior
I want one whats it compared to the limited interior tho is it as nice or can you tell ones nicer
Lol the only reason I stopped at my Laramie case I also have 4 kids and wanted leather seats.
Mega, bench with long bed conversion??? Sign me up.
Way to go, Craig The wheelbase is actually longer in a crew cab with an 8 foot bed than a mega cab with a 6 3” bed. Yes I have measured them
water ?
got to remember when they went with the new HO engine, they went cp4(bad) they have self adjusting valves so you don’t have to get the valve lash checked. it runs 5w-40 and although it warms up faster, my 40k 3500 4.10 burns oil. my 2018 same spec 180k doesn’t burn oil. 4th gen ftw for a reliable rig. 5th gen laramie in warranty for the newer aspect.
Going to miss the information on this truck.
A mega cab isn’t going to allow you to seat a 6th person...
Durango Hellcat is a nice family vehicle 😁
I had a 2019 cp4 pump go out. Now i have a 2020 with aisin. See how this one goes.
Same pump i see a lot of guys hot shotting having problems with new ones.
My main bitch, too, PD. Why no bench seat in my Mega Cab??? And whats up with that catch all hole in the console? Love my Cummins but not too kean on it being in a Dodge.
Does this video have a point?
I heard of 2 different trucks loosing cam bearings. One guy on IG had 88,000 and lost an engine on his 5500. Have you done any research on this generation engine? Hydraulic lifters may be the cause?
Hydraulic lifters is not a new technology. If oil changed when it's bad lifters not an issue.
Buy a bighorn and get katskin leather put in it. They are so much better quality than the factory
Your back:)
How do you know the Laramie is different leather than the limited?
Because ram says so. Plus your assometer
Andy Hass where does ram say so?
@@Rangerdnger can u read? Can u use Google? Can u call a dealer? limited truck says it has seat covering only available in limited. Plus they come with a tag that says REAL leather. Special care must be taken.
I have never seen that tag. And yes the limited has seat coverings only available with a limited because it has a limited emblem in the seat. I was just asking didn’t need a smart ass remark because the research I’ve done on Google shows that ram uses real leather in the Laramie as well
The Laramie seat bolsters are pleather. I have one and they start to crack after a few years.
Ramble on.....sing my song.
get the limited and switch the bench. laramie isnt close to the limited. mega cab is the right move.
Replace it with an olive green megacab Laramie sport
Here in Texas that truck will.bring 50 plus
Lol 2013 Laramie longhorns with 45k miles bring 50k so would yes this would bring more then 50k in any state
What kind of grill cover is that??
The front grill
I have a 19 Lerami with the bench seat.. I’ll trade you

Honestly been thinking about that
I have a 2019 3500 Laramie Longhorn DRW not a single inch of "fake leather" lmfao I have real wood inside the interior aswell 🥴🥴

Why didn’t Ram cover your friends CP4 failure? What excuse was given? This is very bad news...
Bad fuel being used
I took a personal fuel sample prior to taking my 2019 3500 HO into the deals hip. The truck sat in my driveway prior to taking it in waiting on the results. I videoed everything from taking the sample to packaging. Once I took it in I informed them of the sample. Now being covered under warranty.
