I love the decor but I really want to see it at night with the lights on. Lights in patios are beautiful!!
Yeah i was wondering how bright they were going to be, being more at eye level when sitting...
Good idea !
Yes!!! This turned out beautiful and so relaxing!!
I'd love a night update!
Yes we need a night update
Alexandra: welcome to my super tiny balcony
Also Alexandra: so here's the lounge area, and this will be the dining area
Me, on my balcony: so here's a chair, and this is the standing area
This outdoor area is bigger than my living room 😂
:D
Haha same!
"This is the standing area" 😄
Hahaha exactly my thoughts. 😂 This is a giant balcony in my book
i love how american and canadian people say "tiny" to absolutely massive spaces 😂
Right? 😂 My balcony has enough space for one chair, two if the people sitting on them are okay with their knees touching/overlapping 😄🙈
Haha, I thought the same thing but I live in Toronto (same as Alexandra) - her balcony is like three times the size of mine.
Right......
It's definitely relative. And honestly I live in Montréal and would love to have a "tiny" balcony like Alexandra - it's massive to my standards. Canada is becoming more urban while also having absolutely massive swathes of less populated areas. So in Toronto, I would say Alexandra's patio is actually really large, most of my balconies have been ~1m by 3m and my current patio is less than 1m wide and about 4.5m long. I was actually excited to have so much space! Meanwhile I always grew up in houses that had at least 3 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, etc, and were situated on properties with ~1 acre of garden and lawn.
Her balcony is the size of half of my apartment 😅
This video seemed a bit rushed. The final reveal would have been more impressive if you had been able to include the grill, additional plants, maybe a painted floor, a nighttime shot with the lights on and additional finishing touches.
I would love to see more repurposed furniture being used.
me too. more thrifting please!
Would love to see the patio at night time.
@alexandra I think I'd swap the plant behind the couch to the left, just because it would balance the green. The right side has the beautifull tree so I think in the other side it would pop out more. Also as a plant addict, that Window screams for more planters! and on the corner beside the table with the chairs too! Xoxoxoox contrats on the new house btw!
Yes definitely more plants needed
I love it! :) just wondering why you didn’t clean out the deck first? but then again I am a clean freak haha
My first thought too!!! Lol
I really thought she was gonna paint it! Maybe the landlord was like nah no paint so she just left it as is? To be fair leaves are gonna fall all over the place anyway because that’s how nature be.
Or at least power wash!
Lol. She doesn't clean up the floors not even when she is “decoring” for someone else either
How do you know it wasn’t? I can’t see any debris or dirt?
Omg! You should show us the lights on! It looks really cute
"Let's bring in the finishes touches!" Brings in even more pink.....
Adorable balcony makeover! The only thing that would have made it better was to have started with a deep cleaning and a fresh coat of paint on the floor. Paint usually needs landlord approval, but a good scrubbing generally doesn't. Cute and comfy design idea nonetheless. ❤
A deep clean for sure.... you are right.... it's all dusty
I agree! It bothered me the whole time. It is pretty easy to strip the paint off in a small area like that, then she could have stained the wood or if it was in bad shape choose a paint color of her choice.
I was surprised she left the leaves on the floor. A good sweeping would have helped.
I cringed the whole time...those dry leaves were bugging my OCD.
OMG I just wanted to come over with a leaf blower, a broom, and a bucket of clear stain. The wood looks so dry and rundown... it was begging for some TLC Also the pink chairs really no longer go with the new vibe ... I felt like they would have been great spray painted in black or gray to fit in with the new table and couch.
During the finishing touches *covers the pink coaster with the black and white one* 😂 I saw what you did.
Very cute makeover however I feel like those pink chairs would be more comfy with the cushions and a cute floral on the table.
Florals aren't fave for Most males; unless darker backgrounds are used..Like Navy, Black, Emerald Green etc...mix in stripes or paisley instead.
Can you spray the chairs black for unity with the frames of the seating area furniture and add color on chair cushions? I know you love pink, but black would look very smart! Envy the balcony...really lovely space.
@@sandieedward8214 I was thinking more of a fresh flower display on top of the table.
Exactly what I meant by floral display= flower arrangements on table or wall containers... XOX
How would a floral on the table make the chairs more comfortable?
I love how even small things - like a large rug - bring you such joy -
Small but large😅
It would have looked better with new paint on the floor. Even the same color would have been an improvement. Maybe the landlord didn’t approve any changes, but it should have at least been washed.
I loved that even the tree flowers had blossomed to the transformation!
The kinds of conversations you and your boyfriend have about decor are totally like the one's that I have with my boyfriend! Decorating a space together is a compromise, but in the end it is so nice to have an apartment that represents both of us :)!!
Hmm, I'm usually such a fan of your outdoor transformations, but a bit underwhelmed by this one. It's mostly lovely and cozy, but honestly, the pink isn't adding anything. Would you consider leaning into the peach and rust as the accent color, painting the pink chairs rust? Also, maybe the deck floor really needs a sweep and paint job?
I have noticed she doesn’t sweep the floors not even when she is decorating for someone else
I’m kinda thinking those chairs need cushions. Rust cushion.
Ditch the overused pink and get some cobalt blue ceramic pots, and deep green chairs. What she's done looks pasty and cookie cutter. Where's the personality, the color, the life? Everything is pastel girl bedroom look. Knowing pink is a compromise, wouldn't you be considerate and NOT add more???
I Love Alexandra's minimal style, but in this case I felt it needed more touches, DIY planter w/ flowers, styling table w/ plates...it seems unboxing new Article furniture is getting repetitive.
I usually love your ideas and color choices but there’s something not cohesive here. I agree the deck floor needs to be cleaned and painted it looks dirty. Sometimes chippy could be a decorative thing but that floor does nothing for that furniture. 😕 sorry.
I assume it's just because you've been moving and haven't had a load of time, so I get it, but like... this isn't a makeover in the slightest lmao. Maybe a "decorate my balcony with me" or something. Setting out the furniture you already had onto your new balcony hardly counts as a transformation. The pink chairs also look kind of out of place? Maybe they read more "statement piece" in person, though.
@@cgurl Then call it 'decorate a balcony'. It wasn't a reno.
Totally agree. I was a bit underwhelmed. It was just placing some furniture outside and plopping a few plants around. Where was the reno? I'm sure inside will be, but this was a bit of a stretch. I wouldn't class that as even a make-over.
I feel like you guys are being a bit tough on someone who just moved and working on lots of all things in their new house at the same time as putting together this “Tiny, Renter-Friendly Balcony Makeover” for herself and her partner and her business. It’s a first step to her “My Rental Reno.”
@@cgurl are you a supporter of her or a critic? What do you really think needs to be done in order for it to be considered a makeover for a balcony?
@@cgurl yes, you can be both. But I’m wondering if you’re just being critical or if you are providing constructive feedback? Apart from repainting the deck, what do you think she needs to do to consider her patio video a “reno” in your opinion?
So so cute! Also find it so funny that you think that balcony is very tiny, because when living in Copenhagen that space is huuuge!! 😂👏🏼😍
I think she's exaggerating. I live in Canada and I'd love to have that much space.
I think some people are so used to large spaces because they have the money to buy larger homes and spaces. I live in america and would live to have a patio or ouside space any size lol
I think she may mean it's tiny in comparison to the patio she had at her previous apartment. That's my interpretation anyway.
@@loissaedder2214 I agree!
The discussion over pink was so cute🤣 you can tell Alexandra is trying to let go of pink but is having a hard time and he’s being a good sport about it😂😂
I am so EXCITED for this seriesssssssssss!!! Wohooo!!!!
I'd butch up those pink planters! Paint the stands black and accent the planter with black design.
I live in the US state, Wisconsin, and am so glad to have found you. I love your energy. Your DIYfriend, Dani is also a hoot. Thanks for being on CZcams.
When I first saw the title, I thought: Wait, is she renting in Reno 😉? But now I realise that it's actually us subscribers who hit the jackpot 😁! Thanks so much for all your awesome work!
The planters are amaaaazing! And so is the entire makeover! Such a pretty wood railing too! Love everything!
I like the balance of modern and boho feel 🥰
Alexandra-
Just wondering if your landlord wanted you to return your makeovers of kitchen etc to before or if he was ok with leaving the sticky tile on etc
Me too, Carly H! Although, I remember the treehouse kitchen reno and Alexandra replaced the sink, the countertops, and I believe she also removed whatever tile was above the counter, so if she took off the sticky tile, it would leave an unfinished wall. Her landlord approved those changes. I hope she left the tile floor in the bathroom, as it was much nicer than the bricky floor underneath. I think I will find that kitchen reno and refresh my memory! ;)
I’m interested in this topic too!
Did you have to peel them fr the pink peel n stick tiles?
I hope the landlord has the common sense to know that those design features raise the value of that apt. If I lived there I would be thrilled, Dani 'said bookshelves.....those would be hard to let go.....so ......relationship rules.......pink is her thing....he will have something she "deals with" so accept or "deal with" that you have a wonderful girl, who likes pink....💞💝💝💝
She showed her kitchen in the last video and she removed the crazy paper from the fridge but left the pink.
Your boyfriend should be so lucky to have someone like you designing the space he lives in including the pink.
Those sofa cushions just look so dang satisfying for some reason 😂
Love it! Look what can be done when someone spends a little time or energy on patio. It's a great space to unwind.
It will be interesting to see you and Noah balance your styles. I can't stand pink for myself so I sympathize with Noah wanting to limit it, but I'm glad you enjoy it. I think I would have spray painted the chairs another color, black probably to match the table and the legs of the other furniture. I think the planters are a nice pink-tan color, but the chairs don't seem to match the rest of the colors as much.
Your patio looks phenomenal! Blessings to u both and may u two find joy in the journey of the next chapter of your lives!
Turned out great! We just rented an apartment in another city for my husband's work so this series will be so helpful!
The Chestnut Tree (at your porch) leaves turn an ugly brown as the chestnuts develop...I think the chestnuts suck the life out of the leaves but watching them develop from tiny little pokie balls into dark brown huge ones is very cool...and the Chestnuts in the fall reminds me of "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire" holiday feel...
The tip about having a round table in the corner is the advice I never knew I needed and is PERFECT to solve my patio conundrum! THANK YOU
Great job. I love all the colors used. The pink, black and brown. Again I love. 💕
LOOOOVE how quickly you're churning out videos and makeovers in the new space, AG
Love this! I'm a huge fan of blush pink and rust tones together!!
I suggest looking at the small, pretty grill Lone Fox used in his recent patio makeover. (And incorporate some black plant stands.)
Cute! My husband doesn’t care about girly colors and decor. Everyone knows he doesn’t have anything to say about it, anyway. And everyone knows I don’t have anything to say about the grill zone (which is sacred).
Cutest patio sofa ever
So cute :) I could never let my cat, Miss Minerva, out on a balcony, she'd be up on the railing and into the trees in a heartbeat :)
Love how the patio space came together!!
love how its a tiny balcony....to me it looks ginormous, if you have the luck to get a flat with a balcony where i live, its usually 1/3 the size :D
What a nice space!! Turned out really pretty!! It has to be good- it was kitty approved 😺
Minimalist and nice ! Thumbs up
I love your outdoor space!! I recently bought my first home and I have a long list of to-do’s so I will be taking lots of notes throughout this series! I have a 20 x 7 ft. covered front porch (it’s so awesome!!) and after watching this video I will be ordering solar lights. I also have a porch swing that has seen better days (needs new seat cushions) along with two rocking chairs. And lots of plants (some live, some artificial). Girl, you got my design wheels turning! Thanks for the continued inspiration! And I’m in the pink too as my house is a soft muted pink...😆😆
So exciting! Can't wait to see what you do with this place!
Excellent. Noah thank you for agreeing too the pink.👍😊
Loved everything you done. 🥰and the kitty kisses. 👍🥰
Congratulations Alexandra on your new home. It looks lovely! You managed to make the balcony look very spacious and I can't wait to see the rest.
You have such wonderful ideas to make the most of your space! I have learned some great tips! Love your new porch decor! Also you are a joy to watch bubbly positive attitude!
Aw, the stylish stuff begins . I love It ! ❤️
Cute but simple makeover! Love it but agree with Noah about needing an additional end table to add to the other table. Always a great job!!
Love the fireplace behind you 😍 beautiful stain color
Beautiful. Hope your patio survived yesterday’s snow fall and rain well.
The outdoor space looks cute, of course Lottie adds more charm 😻 . If it was my space, I would add a stripped umbrella, if allowed, to add a little privacy from neighbors and the busy street/parking lot. Let’s see the space at night lit with those cute retro lights!
I'll be looking out for it. I'm totally fascinated. Gorgeous outdoor space
I thought you're moving in together. Why does it only say " My" no hate just curious really lovw your videos all the way from the philippines
I have been looking forward to seeing how you decorate your new home! I love the balcony - it's beautiful, comfortable, functional, and personal. Love the sofa, and those solar lights are perfect!
I love this makeover 🥰 the furniture is perfect 🙌
Love this space! Can you post a night pic with the lights on? I have a feeling it will look magical.
Great job.
I love how simple this make over was. I needed the inspiration!
The pink boho aesthetic still hasnt changed i see :P and its super cute! don't get me wrong, but excited to see more of a merge of your styles together.
those pink chairs she could spray paint it if they are budgeting plus it will be a nice diy touch in that area. the planters too. maybe in couple months later.
Looks great! Very excited for this season!
The balcony looks amazing! I can hardly wait to see the rest of the renovations! 😃
Thank God you moved !! NEW VIDEOS,MORE IDEAS ABD MORE INSPO !! 💕💕💕💕

You can get a 22" Blackstone Flat top that has a stand....it's the perfect size for that space....and you can cook amazing stuff on it! Bought one for my son's new place and it's been amazing!!
Love it. I finally just sprung for outdoor lounge furniture
So excited for you . Can’t wait until the next episode.
Looks great. Excited for this series
Beautiful outdoor space and best of luck and happiness in your new home with Noah
Love the balcony, especially the couch and chair.. You have definately given ius some great inspiration.!
Alexandra I was wondering if your previous landlord made you remove the pink tile in the kitchen and the linoleum in the bathroom? Why didn't you sand and paint the deck of the patio it's chipping and peeling? You could have put the smaller rug underneath the table. You could also get a umbrella that you can put up or down to control the sun.I hope you can get a grill that fits your space.
My side porch is about the same size so thank you for all the ideas!! 👍🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
That’s very subdued pink. Nice balcony.
That tree with all the blooms is stunning!! Great video, again!! What an adventure!! What a beautiful neighborhood!!
Love it ! It looks beautiful & so relaxing ! Loving the rug !!
Oh my goodness Alexandra, I love how your balcony turned out, and yes your treehouse one was amazing, but this one turned out so beautiful, and I love how Lottie has her own catio as well, she looks like she is really enjoying the outdoor space. I am super excited to see all of the makeovers you will be doing in your new larger space, it is also fun to see Noah. Take care, sending love and hugs, bye for now.
Congratulations for your new home!!! It’s beautiful and big! I’m so happy for you! I can’t wait to see the other changes! 🤩🤗🙋🏻♀️🇺🇾
And now it’s too cold in Ontario to enjoy it this weekend!
I can't believe that you found bricks again in the new house as well... So nice space. Ps. I would have loved to see how much light those solar lights do. Can't wait to see other make overs

Beautiful Alexandra!!!
Even the tree was decorated!
