Agree love the Decades with Bill Waddington as Percy Sudgen,He was a Gem 💎 in this and Hilarious with Phyliss ,Fab Veteran Actors ,Sorely missed,Since 2000 onwards it's got full of rubbish and It's gotten more like Mean Streets with its Violent Plots ,Bring back the past episodes ❤️💎
Brilliant characters and more realistic down to earth characters.Jack,Vera,Percy and Emily Bishop to name just a few.It was a much more enjoyable show.
He always reminded me of Foggy from Summer Wine, both excellent English comical characters. Take blokes seriously like that at your peril 😁 We had one in my local boozer years ago, as soon as he walked in the pub I’d always loudly sing that Stevie Wonder tune “Here’s Mr Know-it-all” 😂 always got a laugh, and that’s what life’s about 😉
They were briefly in it together at the end of 1983 - beginning of 1984 and even shared a couple of scenes. But yeah the producers might have seem him as a long term replacement.

Loved the interactions between Percy and Phyllis, they made me howl.
Back in the days when coronation street still had a sense of humour before it became the boring and depressing pile of crap it is today..

Percy was just brilliant him and philis could have been a spin of series they were brilliant actors who played Phillips and percey

Human version of zippy . Little noisy and know it all, and a complete nuisance.
Hated this character along with Derek & Mavis.
I think a lot of people rather prefer Big Mo in EastEnders.

I thought Derek and Mavis were brilliant.Getting rid of Derek was the biggest mistake Coronation Street ever made.
They made Corrie fun to watch, unlike today. Plus the Reg Holdsworth waterbed scene is more funny than what actual sitcoms are today!
