Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney of The Black Keys are in Studio Q to talk about their latest album "El Camino" and their 10 year journey from Akron, Ohio, to the Grammys and beyond. - Hudba
New drinking game: take a shot every time Pat says "you know"
Damn. I would've never noticed if the people in the comments didn't say this. It's distracting, you know.
@@aMolleTargate In America, many wouldn't even survive it with orange juice. Lotta diabetics here.
"Even when we cover other bands it still still sounds like us because we always kind of mess it up" ~ Dan Auerbach
Love it!
You know Patrick is a... you know, a great drummer, you know, and Dan and Pat...you know are a awesome musical duo, well you know what I'm talking about
You Know
"Pat and I genuinely love each other and care for each other"......the secret of their success summed up in one sentence. Not just a lesson on how to make a great band, but a life lesson about friendship. Find good ones, keep them close, and don't mince words about your feelings for them!
The Black Keys need a reality show. They're such simple guys that probably have conversations about the most mundane and simple things. They also have been making some of the best music out there.
It's encouraging to see how levelheaded The Black Keys are in remembering where they came from and how focused they choose to be in making an honest, artistic, living with their music.
Nate Nemetz I agree.
"If they're gonna be exposed to music randomly, I'd rather it be our music" -- love them
Patrick and Dan are the coolest guys on the planet.
I love how the host was like "you can't just make a rap record" and Patrick is just like ae you for real. to any who don't knw they had a project called blackroc where it was rap but with real instruments its actually pretty good
Pat's "you know" count: 54
'You know' Count overal:96
He reminds me of Joey Ramone in the way he looks and also that. Joey would constantly say "Ya know?" Both Pat and Joey are fuckin bad ass!
Paul McCartney does that a lot too, you know.
yall go watch Dan on Joe Rogan. its over 1000 times minimum
funny how 9 out of 10 comments are about Patrick saying "you know" :')
dan has a very soothing voice when he talks
he should be a singer or something
Love The Keys!! Seen them a few times and will never miss an opportunity to see em again!!
lol i feel like pats just fucking around with the " I knows"
Akron, OH - Erie, PA, We're neighbors! Keep being real, guys! Love ALL your albums.
Cleveland right here.
LOVE the keys.
Love Erie, too
No I don't know pat
people didn't like El Camino?! I honestly thought it was their magnum opus, I loved Gold on the Ceiling, Lonely Boy, that whole record was amazing!
You must be Bluessludge1000
Stop stop Is my favorite song in that album, little black submarines, nova baby, run right back... A lot of good songs.
@@wilhemheider I just went on a binge at work of all their work pre 2012, so far I like brothers the best. El Camino is alright, I guess I just can’t feel the music as easy as I can on their other records. Delta Kream slaps.
Whenever Dan Auerbach says something off the wall Patrick puts his hands over his face like WTF are you thinking.... lol love these guys!
El Camino is an incredible from start to finish album!
Man they're so honest and humble
sir they are not boring! they simply are simple, humble people
Can not be unheard.
I think this interview just made me like them that much more....
This interview just made me appreciate this band even more
I think i know.
i think i know but i dont know
Wow, this is guy is a solid interviewer. I really enjoyed this like a lot. Thank you for not just asking stupid questions about their music videos and album covers, and except for the one slip on Blakroc, this was really great to listen to.
yes!!!
I think this was an awesome interview. The interviewer asked great questions, and the guys seemed completely genuine. Very rare to see this kind of thing nowdays.
I'm very happy for their success even if it did take 10 years for the world to wake up.
Dan says “you know” just as much lol
I love these guys...true normal musicians!!! how refreshing...
I subbed to this channel because of the interviewer. He is one of the best in the business! Keep up the great work and keep bringing in top talent!
Badass musicians
all the comments are about pat's "you know", this is so funny 😂
"You know" haha I love their songs.
Nice to see a band that doesn't let the fame go to their heads....
Thank you Pat and Dan for being real
Best black keys interview I've seen
Keep it simple because it is Authentic. I love your music because I can see your authentic. It a bunch of BS that artist should get paid for selling their music for adds, unless it conflicts with your sense of integrity. Stay Grateful, keep it simple and real like you have been. You guys are Awesome! Honestly, I saw you in Las Vegas 2012 New Year and I haven't been able to listen to anything else.
but now I cant stop hearing it
Best expression ever.
DAN ( & Pat).... don't ever ever change!!! You guys are great because you don't have a f*-up Hollywood rock star attitude... cuz you have true talent!!!!
This interviewer is one of the best, compared to the others. You can tell the black keys likes him as well. He managed to pull out some really good comments from dan and pat, well done.
il put my hands up and say i only came across these guys when i heard lonely boy, but by got am i glad i did, this band fucking rules!!
HOLY SHIT CHAMP
agreed.
I know too.
Not the biggest Black Keys fan, but they seem like truly nice guys.
It’s funny hearing Dan say they feel uncomfortable wearing sunglasses indoors, when right now on the Ohio Players tour he’s never not wearing sunglasses
RIP every person that did that.
Magic Potion is one of my favourite albums by the black keys! lol.
the black keys are the best! El Camino is definitely different but in a good way
Definitely hungover, yes lads
This interviewer is great
Jian Ghomeshi is a great interviewer and I enjoyed his book, 1982.....go buy it folks!
Jian: "What's the biggest misconception about The Black Keys?"
Pat: "The way that we're perceived, you know, in general."
They've said before how much they hate interviews, they even said it to Stephen Colbert.
take a shot every time someone says "y'know?"
That just how real musicians act.
Because they are normal people, they're very down to earth.
24:30
Reminds me of one of my previous bands..
Black-youknow-Keys
Gtarz! Fuck yeah!
I think that show is on at 6 in the morning. That's going to bed time for musicians:)
I think Blur is one of the bands Pat was talking about when he said that some bands make drastically different sounding records from record to record.
These dudes aren't your typical rockstars
I think people are hating on Jian Ghomeshi cause hes actually asking pretty good questions that actually discuss the anatomy of the songs and song writing techniques unlike the usual interviewers who talk bullshit for fifteen mintues and throw in their sponsors name in a few times during the talk
OMYFUCKINGGOD THAT SHADOW FIGURE IN THE CORNER LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE ME IM NOT EVEN KIDDING!
So many interviews have "you know" in it, check out the Qtv Billy Bob Thortan interview for epic "you know"'s.
I KNOW
these are my favorite stoners
God these guys are modest.
I know now
you know you know you know you know you know you know yo know you know you know
somebody give these guys coffee. im slowly falling asleep
you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know
Man, if you don't know. now YOU KNOW!
"I love mayonnaise!" Patrick ♥
I'll be honest, I've liked the Black Keys since Rubber Factory and I never thought they would become anywhere near as successful as they have. I guess you just never know(Pat!). Good for them though. But my fav Black Keys record is still the Chulahoma ep :)
joey4track honestly, who didnt like it. It is the perfect example of what an Alt Indie sound is like, and I respect them for moving on from that and evolving in terms of the production quality and sound.
Chulahoma is, imho, the best thing ever recorded. If Chulahoma had Everywhere I go on it it'd be dang near perfect.
good music is good music.
fuck everything else.
Played the " you know " drinking game
Auerbach's voice is sexy hell. Damn, son!
Loving these comments, ya know?
'Depends on how many zeroes . . .' - At least they are honest about the sell-out
That's integrity!!! - (I would have taken the 200,000 quid).
Magic Potion is my favorite
At least one
I'd pass out within two minutes.
he said "you know" a lot on the colbert report too
those two guys are obviously jaded during that interview. cant blame them though. they had a hell of a year
14:58 "It's Bizarre." haha
i know
how many times does he say YOU KNOW ?
pat carney and robin pecknold, the apparent kings of 'you know' (watch the fleet foxes interview)
That's cause it's not just any interviewer, it's friggin' Jian Ghomeshi :)
I DON'T KNOOOOOOOW!!!!
Hey people we can count ...
i love that the interviewer is challenging them as opposed to kissing their ass.
WE ALL KNOW!
good job! you got mentioned :) lol
Dear John,
I love you.
Sincerely, Sumrandom Doode.
p.s. I wonder how many people counted for themselves to check your numbers...
i was keeping a tally chart for pats "ya knows"...couldnt take it anymore gave up at 10:15...came up with 28 ya knows from pat and 1 i know....a few ya knows from dan as well
