- Today's game is Deadside - one of the hardest survival games I've played in a while & it's safe to say I tried my best to cause havoc. Deadside is similar in style to rust & dayz, while delivering a pretty similar experience too: suffering. It's obviously an open world exploration game powered mostly by pvp but also some pve with some AI patrols.

Well, if you don't already know, you'd be surprised at how powerful a shotgun is even at long range. Games making it only good for short-range are for balancing purposes. Shotguns are literally OP irl.
Youd need slugs rounds to pull off those sniper range shots right?? Or what kind shots would blast half your body off??

Well yea, except for ducks, cause while 12 gauge was invented to kill germans, 20 gauge is primarily used with birdshot, ducks are immune to buckshot because they aren't bucks but instead ducks

I know the spread on some special forces or some crap shotguns are very tight and I think it would be hard to miss someone at like 20 meters away unless using a slug...
tbf, the last 2 Modern warfare games' shotguns can one shot people at very long ranges. People call is broken lmao
@@guily6669 If the barrel squeezes at the end, it's using a choke. Also, a slug would make it much easier to hit targets at a distance consistently, not harder.
Whoever wonders if the game is cool: Yes it is. You can easily buy it and have some fun. It's like a Dayz light - You will find much more loot and it has no Zombies but bots (that will kill you easily). While Dayz is a hardcore survival game Deadside is more like a casual survival game and you will certainly find much more people + bots than in Dayz. In the save zones you even find people that can group up with you and do missions.
I definitely disagree on the loot part. I like Deadside, but there is NOT a lot of lootable items within the game world. The game could definitely use a lot more items to make scavenging feel more worth while, because as of right now it’s just mostly empty buildings and when you do find something it’s just one of the same 10 items you see all. the. time.
But the game has always had some good potential 👌

I never said "There are a lot of lootable items" I said "There are MORE lootable items than in Dayz" whatever that means... 😉 Actually I have this problem right now in SCUM, I had this problem in Dayz and Deadside was not as bad as the two but it is very much apparent that in those hardcore survival games loot is very rare. I remember in Dayz I was really happy about every apple I stumbled upon. I played SCUM today and did not find a single weapon in 1-2 hours. I am really not sure if these games are really for me because compared to PUBG or Hunt Showdown the gameplay really is a lot of "walking around and seraching for stuff but finding nothing"
@@brucekhamp6859 yea, most good loot items are in mission crates, downed heli’s and etc. not much on the ground other than basic guns and items.

@@josephpeters7076 my guy. No. 50m is the average effective distance for a legal legth shotgun firing buck. Standard 00 buck is only 8 pellets, after about 50 meters, or 65-ish on longer barrels, the spread loses itself and becomes unpredictable, as well as beginning to run out of velocity losing lethality. Shorter barrel means less powder burns accelerating the shot to begin with. Theres a reason people dont actually saw shit down that small unless its meant for in-home use only, or as a dedicated lock-breaching shotgun.

@@josephpeters7076im qualified as a squad designated marksman to be allowed to carry and proficiently engage targets with an M110 sniper rifle. im saying the likelihood of a 7 inch barrel sawn off shotgun dropping someone at 50 meters is next to nil. Because theres no barrel room for the powder to burn and accelerate the projectiles to give them lethal velocity or stable flight patterns enough to even resist the wind. Because sawing off a shotgun that short is fucking stupid. But if you know better than modern ballistic science please be my fucking guest and explain how its a skill issue.
Buckshot out of a stanard length barrel shotgun for hunting *buck* caps out its *effective* range right around 50 meters. If youre saying that you can hit and kill something at the same range with half the barrel length, please immediately sign up for the olympics because youre gonna win gold. You dont even need the shot to kill then, just to puncture some paper, should be a literal joke to you, right?
50m. Thats not the effective range of the shotgun, thats of the round, standard 00Buck. With magnum loads you might get a bit further. Out of a sawn off shotgun youre looking at around 18-30 yards max depending on the barrel length. Since this shotgun shown in the game was about as short as possible, that means 18 yards. Thats 16 meters. We'll say 22 yards if we want to be generous, which is 20 meters, since humans dont have as much flesh to get through as deer to reach vital organs.

Shotguns with the right loads at the right distance will physically take a chunk of sh!t off the enemy and throw that sh!t on the ground.
This game works by this. Also the best body armor is not getting hit at all. Doesn't matter how good your stuff is you get hit you're gonna feel it.
Lol when the netcode allows for it to work. I have point blanked people with shotguns on numerous occasions and just end up getting one-framed with a shitty little scorpion SMG or some shit. Simply due to net-code
They have extreme penetration rounds for the Makarov Pistol now. Add a little Teflon, and take out 3 guys with one shot.

Deadside is fun, I’ve played it on and off for a while. The game has PvE servers and PvP servers (PvP servers still have bots in them, like you see in this video.) the devs for Deadside are constantly updating the game too, they recently added duck hunting and they said they’re gonna add drive able boats soon. Then hopefully they’ll add cars as well
so just rust with a graphics and realism update

Great video. Deadside is great the PVE mixed with PVP is a lot of fun. I recommend starting with easy missions though, the AI and players you'll run into won't be so juiced out.
Also, that dude in the base that was talking to you was most likely the one being raided and didn't trust you lol. You probably made him freak out.

@@rustyshaklefurd4700 It's more of a "DayZ lite". The PVE element and missions kinda act like the Hunt:Showdown formula a bit which draws players close to each other, so there is a lot more PVP going on in this than in other open world survival games.
It also has a 'no offline raiding' system which a lot of people like which none of the other popular survival games offer. So it's a bit more laid back in that regard. Your base only comes under threat if you put yourself out there enough.
I know people that come from both DayZ and Scum that play Deadside as it's just a more chill experience with more PVP focus. You can get geared with decent stuff pretty quick and jump right into PVP.
Haven't laughed at a Deadside video in a while, this was pure comedy i hope to see another one out soon bro!

I enjoy this game a lot , when I don’t feel like trying to hard or putting a lot of hours on dayz I go to this it’s like dayz little brother who isn’t that bad so you let him hangout sometimes.

love that u bring this game to the people.
Dead side looks great and plays well, the survival is pretty minimalistic compared to other games. Unfortunately it’s not a very well known game with a small player base (at least from what I’ve seen) but even as a solo player it’s still fun to run around shooting bots and doing missions

People seem to forget that shotguns have a lot more range than you think. That dude was only 20 yards away, which is still pretty lethal.
That's why most games only make it short-ranged, even if it's unrealistic

Shotguns have more range than people think. That was actually a great example of how a shotgun works.
Used to fire our double barrel at tagets 20ish meters away and still had a fairly close spread on the target.
Just got this game last week and it's super fun, especially with friends!
This seems to be realistic with the firearms considering that you were able to hit him the shotgun.

Most shotguns have an effective range of 50-100 meters depending on what you have loaded. Remember, the human body does not like getting several steel BB’s rapidly injected into it at high speeds.
I would love a single player version of this

Well if they were to release a solely single player version of the game in its current state it would be no different to PVE besides you not seeing any other players
deadside is actually pretty good. It needs a lot of polishing and gameplay smoothing but its features are actually pretty decent. they have mixed pve and pvp quite well. I tink the problem is the current state of the game and the fact that you have to pay for the game. I'm not sure if the devs are going to fix the game but if not I can understand its bad review.
They can't fix a game as it's not broken. The game is just being developed, I played around half a year ago and I still had a lot of fun, even before some of the new major updates. I'll come back to the game when they add vehicles and such.

Slowly beomcing one of my fav games...It's like a fast paced DayZ. They've found a way to streamline that DayZ feeling and it's amazing. It also has parts of RUST mixed in...amazingly fun

Love the Makarov! 30 years ago, when the Berlin Wall came down, I snapped up a minty East German one for $105! I amped it up to Ten-Round Mags and got an Israeli grip for it. The rounds were kinda anemic as far as power, but they have extreme penetration ones now. Nobody knew what they were back then, but since they are in every video game now, everybody knows. Great Detroit Gun!

I've only ever played Deadside a few times but I did enjoy it, it's defo easier for a new player than say dayZ which I also love. I need to hop on it again.
I played this game when it first came out and people would body-block you in the safe zones and force you to just log out.

shotgun pellets don't stop flying after 5 feet.
The only thing to contend with is accuracy.
Depending on the barrel length and various other factors, pellets can be grouped closer together or further apart.
Increasing or decreasing the probability of pellets hitting a centered target at distance.

Nice video me and a friend made a few videos on deadside his channel is b wild gaming. Deadside is a very good game but is lacking something to keep its player base up. I will be defo playing it again after the boat update. We saw the map 10/15 times over and done all the missions. I feel PvP keeps to game fun
