Riding Nemesis All Day At Alton Towers | Can I Beat Theme Park Worldwide?

- Today has been a LONG day riding nemesis all day at Alton Towers as I try to beat the Theme Park Worldwide Nemesis Challenge recorded for Nemmy's 25th Anniversary back in 2019. Welcome to this insane Nemesis all day challenge!
After an E-Stop, heavy weather conditions nearly closing the ride, reducing the number of trains operating now and again and even my own chronic fatigue threatening to halt proceedings, we managed to persevere from 10am until 4pm.
I really hope you guys enjoyed this rollercoaster marathon.
With Shawn staying for the late-night riding I really had to run around and as far as spending time creating quality content, well, that thought didn't even cross my mind so I hope you can appreciate and enjoy the madness regardless.

I also want to deeply thank the Alton Towers staff who allowed me the couple extra re-rides and especially to Glenn who knew what my target to hit was all day and spoke to the ride ops to let me stay on the ride after closing until it was hit. Legend!
I also want to give a shout-out to Jay, to the Scottish man and his family and to the blue poncho tribe (we’re clearly not on first name basis) who did a few re-rides with me.
It was a strange feeling leaving Forbidden Valley at Alton Towers at the end of the day as I hadn't been anywhere else in the park all day!
If the rumours are true and Nemesis does get an overhaul and is out for a season soon it's safe to say I've certainly got my rides worth out of it in the 2021 season!

Haha I posted an Instagram status saying I want 64 just for a laugh and ended up getting exactly 64 aha. Charlotte sent me a message half-way through the challenge, ever so lovely. Shawn would have absolutely battered me if the day he went for Late night riding was just that bit quieter
we were there that day, rode everything twice and more. That rain was special on Wickerman.
The rain is always special no matter the ride.. like little daggers to the face haha
still the best coaster in the uk, the noise alone while in the queue is epic, still remember the first time i went on it back in 1994 and its still as good today.

In my opinion I think the smiler is the best sounding ride at Alton towers

@@jessiedavisx He definitely didn’t have walk on queues all day, plus he had some toilet breaks and interviewed John Wardley in the middle of that for 5-10 mins too. It all adds up. I couldn’t quite believe it either and I’d given up hope when the queues were getting bigger during the rain storm 😂 thought people would actively avoid being pelted with rain needles on Nemesis aha

@@amykempx if your harness is tighter than normal it usually stops the bashing around (usually) aha

I did nemesis for the very first time two days ago (as someone who hates rollercoasters) and I didn’t even know where I was the entire time as I was screaming 😂

@@LiftHillsandThrills it’s mental how many you got done. The fact that nemesis usually has a much shorter queue line to other coasters baffles me. On a day like that I’d just do laps on it (maybe not as many as you) but a good few and the fact people say inferno is better is just not right. Nemesis is the original and it may not be the world’s most intense ride experience but it’s certainly up there
@@JamesMusicCovers Yeah a few did today, Scottish family and the blue poncho crew did a few re-rides (hence seeing the same trainers and people in some extra ride shots) it was the perfect time to do it then the heavens opened and the queue suddenly got longer. What’s that about?! 😂

Well done!!! I wish i could be at the park on one of those quiet days! Not seen it that quiet since the early 00s!! If it ever opens you should see how many times you can ride the ultimate in a day. That will be a test for your body! :)
By the looks of it, it may never open again. All the signing has been taken down now so unless they’re planning to give it new signage I think it’s riding days are over

This is the day we were there how did we not see you? We got a ride at the end of the day at the front, just us! We then did laps on Wicker Man which was crazy in the bucketing rain 😂 we got 6 rides on that. I’ve never ever seen the park so quiet as it was that day! Well done! 👏

Well done for trying this challenge despite no toilet breaks and the rain pouring down you did really well I hope you do more soon? I'm thinking of doing some in the future but I want my challenge content to be different instead of doing the same thing.
It was having no food that did me in but I knew if I eat anything I’d 100% throw it up 😂 rain was horrendous, they were about 5 mins from shutting the ride down for a bit too which was annoying me greatly as I didn’t want a wasted trip 😂 yeah there’s loads you can do! LOADS!

This is insane!!! And for anyone who has ridden an invert knows it drains you and after that many rides I’m surprised your still walking
I had a few wobbly moments. It was the run from exit to entrance towards the end of the day that did me in haha but absolutely agree, I felt as though I’d done a hard days work after 4pm 🤣 zero energy. Nothing some egg and chips couldn’t sort out when I got home! 🤤

I have been on ride after ride at Thorpe today, pretty quiet and most rides 5 min queues. I grayed out on the back left seat on the Swarm today, first time that's happened to me. Probably dehydrated.

haha you get used to it after a while. Walking back around to rejoin the queue / the lift hill were the little rest bites that helped massively.

Me either buddy that last hour or two I was giving up hope especially with the rain somehow getting longer queues but then it emptied completely. I got VERY lucky

that is probably a high school on a 8pm close you could get 100 rides on it but it won’t be walk on on a weekend or half term
Yeah I think it was a bank holiday or similar on Shawns so the queues would have been in the 10-15 minute range more often than a walk on I’d imagine. It was nice having those last 2 hours and then in the last 90 minutes there was a maximum of around 6 people on the trains going around it was that empty.
This should become a thing now, who can ride Nemesis the most in one day. I might come up and try and beat your 64, lol. Well Done mate

I dunno about that man, I’m sure there’s some Batman type lurking in the shadows knowing they’ve smashed out more laps in a day haha after seeing that guy who was on the Big Dipper for 3 months you just never know!
I am Batman LOL - I rode it 64 times in a day about eight years ago - never knew it was a record really, I just considered my day out at Alton Towers as just a bit odd - back when I did it they had single rider queue available so I was getting off the train, exiting the station, and usually getting back on the same train - I really miss SRQ and indeed haven't been to the Towers since they removed it from Nemesis. Talking about the Big Dipper...I rode with Richard Rodrigues as part of his marathon at Blackpool in 2000...I just did 2000 minutes compared to his 2000 hours, but riding all night non-stop was such a unique experience (if a little wet and uncomfortable) - well done in sharing this weird record!

I can’t comprehend just how long that man stayed on that ride, it’s insanity. The Big Dipper experience was just crazy - I loved the daytime riding (there were four of us doing it as a charity fundraiser) and we were allowed to eat and make calls on the ride, and also rode with the lapbar tied in the up position! Night time however it rained and the tarpaulin over my seat leaked so it was a rough and wet night...I got to know and feel every bump on that ride but it was really great fun. I remain good friends with Mr Rodrigues and hope to meet up with him if he manages to get across to the UK again.

Well done, we did it 50 times yesterday for the wife's birthday, 5 hours solid, then went to work and did my evening shift.
So YOU’RE the mystery man! I mention you in the video (not by name of course) as the staff mentioned it to me but they said you did it in 4 hours and I was wondering How did you manage 50 in 4 hours?! Walking back around to the entrance alone cost me all those extra laps

Thank you man. I couldn’t believe how close I was getting to Shawn’s total but he clearly went on a busier day so when I told the ride ops and they give me that extra lap, such an insane feeling. No two rides were ever the same which is weird to say but it kept me going just like Wicker Man felt different and got faster throughout the day etc

I’m really not sure John to tell you the truth. I know there was Project 42 bloody drapes and other bits of theming around the doors and they’ve gone now so I’m honestly not sure. If Sub Terra returns it won’t be the Sub Terra we knew, I was told most of the insides were stripped out anyways so maybe another Scare Maze? 🤷♂️ honestly don’t know but there’s something happening!

now that is my kind of video well done mate i would love to do this my current record is 17 back in 2015 (when the smiller crash made the park dead for a season ) i need to give this a go one day now next challenge for you ride infusion for a full day and video it if you complete the challenge i will personally pay for your entry to the park because you would be more of a man than me lol.
Infusion all day?! See now at least with nemesis I genuinely had a smooth ride every single time apart from one lap where I left my harness out too far and that was brutal 😂 it’s always the same but infusion is mostly brutal regardless. I think if I bought some ear protectors or similar I may (just may) be able to do it.. 😬
When I went to Thorpe park one day I went on like 30 rides but it wasn’t on one coaster I did practically 4 to 7 of each

go on scarefest so u can ride from 10am-9pm with the top fastpass so u have unlimited fasttrack rides on most rides inlcuding nemesis
Would be a big investment to do that challenge but fast passing would essentially be cheating I feel. Unfortunately as of today Scarefest is also completely sold out which is insane!
