To be honest I'd be far more interested in seeing you do the projects that excite you vs the projects you think excites us.
Me too. BUT I think this will be exciting for both of us
@@thekingofdiy Exactly :)
Exactly exactly exactly!
it’s much more fun watching you tear down and rebuild, something you can do so well.
because let’s face it we all need change, change is good, and it sure keeps us on our toes.
(besides Joey, you get so excited you infect us all.) 💗
Say hi to Tamara 😂for me
Absolutely!! It's more enjoyable to watch if it's something HE'S excited about and enjoys building ! Most of us are going to watch regardless lol
@Joseph Carter agreed sir
5 months ago, when you built the hydroponic room I asked a question:
"So.. Longtimers, how long will the gallery stay this way knowing Joey?
Less than 6 months
More than 6 months but less than a year
More than a year."
It took less than 6 months.
We know you Joey, you don't like when things are static, they must change. It's who you are and I'm not complaining.
I laugh every time he says this isn't changing. 😂 love this videos
It is one of my complaints and I think one of the aspects where the fish suffer... the constant changes... (I think otherwise he does a great job at keeping fish, but I think for the animals sake he changes fish way too often)
Every couple years a new video of Joey stripping everything out and redoing the whole gallery shows up in my feed. He seems so excited every time. Best of luck Joey.
Years? It's about twice a year. "But this time I'm going to keep it like this, now it perfect, just how I want it." Sounds familiar?
I'm not complaining though.
It’s been a lot for sure. No denying that. That was never the plan… just changing scales and fish was. I suppose not everyone sets something up and keeps it like that forever though. Or sometimes change their mind. I think I’m in a different situation than most though. I hated that part about videos. With that said, we have never had 35 tanks in the gallery or this planned variety of aspects.
@@thekingofdiy It could be fun with some smaller more "normal" tanks in there too. Not everyone has the room or funds for a big aquarium. The first video of yours i saw was the plywood bottom tank you built out of two bigger glass tanks. It's ben a while. 😉
@@thekingofdiy joey can you please send me a link to which light bulbs you use in the planter pendant lights you built, ive bought at least 15 different bulbs that look nothing like yours. Please help.
I’ve just said the exact same thing
Feel like I've been watching you take stuff down more than anything else lately. Look forward to hopefully seeing you pick a direction that you like so you can be happy to stick with it for awhile.
True! It’s also been years since I’ve actually been inspired. I do like building things and showing how I do it, but I can’t let my hobby run based on what make a good video anymore. To be honest, doing these trips have clearly been the best thing for me. Getting back to fish rooms, fish clubs and spending time with hobbyists instead of taking pictures at conventions is exactly what I needed. Sometimes you have to go “home” to remember where you are from.
@@thekingofdiy I love this as someone who's watched for ages it's glad to see you move in a better direction. Not to say you haven't I just like watching your content. I can't keep tanks anymore for various reasons so seeing you enjoy the hobby kinda reminds me not all people are crap
I mean, he's called the king of DIY
Thank you I needed inspiration to keep my tank and do something new with it 👍🏻
Joey...how you felt seeing other places/hobbyists you visited, is exactly how we all feel watching your videos. So many of us use your tips/tricks/builds and make them our own when putting together our tanks. From all of us, thank you for your enthusiasm and passion for the hobby!
Never seen you this excited about the gallery in a long time, do what makes you happy, we're just here for the journey
Agreed 💯
There's been something missing for a bit, even though the videos were still great, a few seconds into the video I realized what was missing was seeing you so excited! This is so much fun
Good to see your passion restored and also inspired by fellow hobbyists. That’s what we are here for. Sharing ideas and introducing new ones. I hope you can visit us in Lancaster Pa sometime. I went to my first Fish swap at the Fish Place. Had a great time meeting other fish keepers. Looking forward to see all your projects. Ty Joey.
I don’t wanna see bigger and better. I wanna see 15 minutes out of your day loving your aquariums and doing what makes you happy dude! 💙
This is what we watch for, this is why I bought your digital copy of the book back in 2014. Your channel continues to inspire us all
As much as I have enjoyed this clean-looking gallery. I miss the days where you had tanks everywhere. I miss the days of having multiple tanks multiple ideas going on. I'm glad you're doing it with multiple smaller tanks. As much as I would love to run a 120 or 180. It's just so expensive. I have 6 40 breeders. Maybe you'll inspire me to switch things up a bit😊
I like how you're getting back to the basics of the hobby brother I love listening to an older person that's been in the hobby for decades upon decades just to hear their stories and where they started to where they are now it's truly amazing and so fascinating to learn from them truly inspirational
It’s great to see the excitement in your eyes again! Sometimes burnout happens and you have to go back to basics and remember what it was that made you fall in love with your passions…. I’m sure you’ll be finding happiness in whatever you choose to do with the future of your channel, hobby, gallery and other endeavors! Great to see you got your mojo back 😂❤
That's the Word MoJo .. it like we are seeing him again ..
Joey every time you say you gotta start doing what you love and every time we all say the same thing. "Do it!" We love what you do and your passion for the hobby gets so many of us passionate about it to. Do what you want mate we will be here to see it happen.
Hey man, I absolutely love the channel.
I love what are you doing now to rekindle your love for the Hobby. I really dig the ideas you’re having to make it more you. Looking forward to seeing what you’re capable of, you’ve already said a high bar!!!
This is so cool! I’ve been feeling the same thing but now I’m back on track and gotten my original feel for the hobby back!
My Redtail Catfish eat up both my Bichirs?!? One morning one was gone and then when I stood there watching the Redtail just swallowed the other halfway down and kept going! I could do absolutely nothing but watch and cry! So yes! MOVE the Bichir to the Stingray tank. 👍
I LOVE this video! Thank you!
Greetings from Sweden
That's one of those "can't win for losin'" days
I had a similar problem with my well. I had to put in a drain pipe so when the well filled up to a certain point, the excess water will run off into my creek instead of my basement.
Joey, I love seeing you excited about the hobby and people in the hobby. I can see your trip truly rejuvenated you. It's really awesome.
Your energy, enthusiasm and devotion in the midst of a minor disaster with the well is remarkable and appreciated. I already spend too much time and energy on fish-keeping however I think you’ve shown a useful example of “attitude” and mindset that can be injected into any aspect of life. You typically exude this positivity and “joie de vie” but this instance really drives it home. Thanks!
Honestly Joey, you should start a «build-an-aquarium-gallery-company». You can travel the world and build aquarium-rooms for people; you love building, working with aquariums and traveling; just go for it and document this on CZcams do we can follow your projects!
I really like the authenticity and raw thoughts of how you like doing the hobby again.
I’ve seen you over the years and you’ve grown and went thru so much.
Flipping tanks and experimenting with fish and seeing what you like and try.
It’s what the hobby is about!
Are you ever going to be in Orlando or Sarasota? Would love to go to one of your classes.shows.
Take care, Joey!
So glad to hear this news! I started watching your videos WELL before you built the gallery. And when you said it was happening I followed every step of the way because I loved your original plan for it. But somewhere along the way I kinda lost interest, and then had to get rid of all my tanks. I saw this pop up on my FB page and I'm excited again. Still can't set up any new tanks myself. But am super glad youre taking this route!
Those Bleeding Hearts you added to the Piranha aquarium are getting confident enough to go out in the open or becoming more visible.
Build a stack of tanks. Use sponge filters & aquarium co-op lights. Switch out the fish as much as you like. Easy peasy! Lemon squeezy? Yes!
I have been watching you since the early days of your channel with your old diy, it's so refreshing to see you get inspired again and to see your excitement. Glad the old Joey is back! Can't wait to see what happens next!
Your newly found enthusiasm is catching! I'm so excited to hear about the new plans you've got going now! The breeder tanks part will be as exciting for a lot of people, I think, as it is for me. Even if I'm not keeping fish right now, I love learning! Anyhow, can't wait to see the newly inspired Joey, and what he does. Glad it's something you want to do too! That's more important then making videos just for videos sake alone. Your enthusiasm keeps us enthusiastic! I've just been gifted a 5 gallon tank, so I might slowly..and more manageably for me, get back into the hobby. :) Have a great day!
Good to see you excited. I'll echo what I already saw in some comments - do what YOU love, instead of worrying about what WE will love. When you get excited about what you're doing, it gets US excited. Even if it's not something we'll ever do ourselves, we love watching your enthusiasm for the hobby and the creativity you bring to it. You inspire us by being yourself and being excited about what you're doing.
You are truly in an inspiration. I cant get enough and starting my fish yanks again after year's of no fish. I wish I had local clubs fish stores around here
I love the excitement in your voice 😊 You gotta do what makes YOU (and your better half 🤣) happy in your journey in this hobby.
To be fair mate I'm from Scotland UK. I absolutely love your content, you got me into the fish hobby. I have a 180 litre tank and a 240 litre tank. Only recently decided to go planted 😊 Thanks for all the hard work and information you have shared with us.
I feel like the awareness is growing lately that the community is lacking what it truly used to be about. Talking to and visiting and learning from others in this hobby is key! We are all doing what we love and sharing that with each other is so important. So glad you had the epiphany you did. If anyone can help bring the hobby back to its roots, you can.
Welcome back ,getting back to why you do what you love .I don’t have a fish room but I do have five tanks .I have 3 nano tanks and one 40 gal and one 32.5 gal .I would love big aquarium ,but at my age and terrible back problems .Can’t do it ,but I live my dream aquariums through you .😊 Over 25 yrs of keeping aquariums (love it ) .Getting back to your roots and why you are inspired again make’s me one of thousands of member very happy .❤ 😊
I started getting into breeding plecos about 3 years ago. And if it wasn't for people like you, OFR, and many other CZcams aquarists I would have quit. But I took the info I received and put it to use. First 2 years no luck in breeding, this year I have had 6 spawns from 3 different groups. Now I will be able to share with more people. Thanks for all the knowledge and glad to see you reinspired. It nice to have new visions to work towards. Look forward to the video with the master breeder. Maybe I will get some inspiration to try to become a master breeder myself. New visions new inspiration. Its contagious in a great way. 👍
It's easy to say it now but I never liked the aquaponics room with the tree panels, seemed quite cumbersome and just strange. I'm glad you're reinspired Joey, and planning some more of your mad scientist DIY things. More tanks and more fish, front and centre, is exactly your kind of speed. Good luck!
It's good to see you so pumped. Who knew that getting you out of the gallery would be so invigorating. This post just got me super fired up for the hobby. 🐟🐠🐡🐙
One of the best videos for sure 🔥
Been in this hobby 29 years next month. Took me 20 years to realize the best way to stick in this hobby is keeping everything as simple as possible. When I had my high-tech planted tank I left it neglected vs a tank with just a canister, heater and air pump. I took all of last year and didn't touch or mess with my reef tank other than feed the fish. Came back stronger and more focused
9:10 Joey.... sometimes the ideas you run with, you dont stop to hear us.... haha
You always seem excited when building stuff. But this video seems you have an extra spark! I get excited seeing up any of my tanks (all are well under 100 gallons) so I know the feeling. I think I prefer the process over the results hahaha. You might be in the same category brother! Looking forward to watching the process of changes. Take your time, catch it on video, and enjoy! We'll keep watching 😊
I think deep down what you want to do is knock it all down and start again. It's all about the journey and planning that seems to get you excited and that's really infectious
So glad to hear you found your inspiration back, I missed your video's and your one of the big reasons I just ordered my first real aquarium.
My tank will have cupido cichlids, silver dollar ore scalare red back, and a smaller jitter fish. The tank is 132 gallon and being build as a room devider.
I enjoy watching your enthusiasm and the projects that I can never do in my own small abode. I could of sworn we had a video (or two) that were about the need for you to do what makes you happy...I'm a bit confused that you aren't doing what brings you joy (with us along for the ride). I really want to see those videos. If you don't have something cool you want to change in your fish areas, (or need a breather) I have no issue with a nice feeding video and you just chatting about fish (or a break but I like videos so I'm a bit bias). Maybe you can tell us some fish stories. I hope to keep watching you and your enthusiasm.
Hi We are from Australia. Been following you for years . Will be great to see how these new tanks turn out . Can't wait to see it all set up .
Joey for the 8 foot table on top of the Frantoza tank instead of the wood veneer maybe a thick piece of plexiglass for the table top then u can see through the top while sitting down at it
I can feel your excitement and will be following closely. I hope you decide to dedicate at least one breeding tank to a nice L-number. Looking forward to seeing this reset happen, and the content that follows. Also, you’re on point regarding the larger fish conventions vs fish clubs, etc. 👍
Awesome Joey!!! Bro u got me inspired again.. with my koi room.. love ❤the new plans for the gallery❤
I’m so exited to see Al the change in the fish gallery especially if it makes you happier that makes better videos
I never realised how much of what you did was just for CZcams. I had a feeling, but, I'm glad you're doing more for yourself. That's why I enjoy watching CZcams. Seeing people enjoy things they love for themselves
Glad you are excited again! I'm excited to see you do smaller tanks...I have 3 -20 gal.and two 5 1/2 gal. Give some love to the black convict cichlids..lol. can you tell I have two! They are awesome.
So happy to see you excited again Joe! Can't wait to see this next build, sounds awesome! 👏
Get with the folks at "The Wet Spot" of Portland, OR, and come visit. Would love to come out and see you and it would add a bunch of new subscribers. The scene is actually pretty big here.
I love seeing you get so genuinely reinvigorated with the hobby
Your sounds awesome! Be fun to follow the progress.
I personally really liked when you had all those 120s. So cool to have a collection n variety of all the things you liked.
The way I look at it, do whatever you want that makes you happy. We're all along for the ride. It's like a fish club online and you're the teacher.
AW i love the random Bicher appearances lmao. Please name it sizzle :') I lose it whenever you mention him because he such a cool fish just doing his thing like an only child
Joey really just need a full crew to watch his gallery while he is out of town.
Was excited to see you at Ohio fish rescue, my 2 favorite channels to watch, and I had a feeling being there would set you off with new ideas. Cheers, can't wait to see what's coming.
12:30 "This will always be a 700 gallon piranha tank..." Sure Joey LOL. I can't wait to see the "new" gallery look. Looks like you had fun in Ohio and came back inspired.
Joey struggling to take apart his well made structure is hilarious
You can almost see him cursing his past self for being so well built
Thank you for all that excitement and energy! 😊 Keep doing what you love!
Remember, that's bound to be the most inspiring to watch as well. 😉
Not Joey nailing the join button location ad still leaving in him second guessing himself. Proof how transparent he is.
Hey Joey been watching you forever and gor a long time I didn't even have a rquarium. But you've always said you did this to teach and inspire people to learn and join in the hobby. Well brother you have inspired me cause now I have a 90 gallon cichlid inspired by you also 2 55 gallop one with discuss and the other with a variety of small fish. I so happy you made it look so fun cause I really injoy my tanks and I owe that to you. Thanks
I'm excited to see the finished project. You have a great plan much success to you.
I'm glad you're changing things up, I agree this configuration wasn't the best of them all, and what you've described sounds much better!
I just went back to my first auction in 3 years on Sunday with my fish club New England cichlid association and I feel you on being back as a hobbyist it was so nice to be back at my club
Love the brainstorming Joey. Motivating.
So glad your actually going to do what u need for your hobby bud. You’ll always have support of your followers as we just love you and your energy. Even your silly jokes haha 😛 Can’t wait for more videos. Good to see your inspired again 👍
That awesome Joey. I actually did make a skimmer out of a 1 gallon jug after that homemade filter video you made. It works so well and, honestly I can't wait to see what you do with the little tanks.
You’ve inspired me to break down and build my own tank and stand. I don’t come for specific material other than fish stuff. Do what makes ya happy and I’ll keep watching
This is the Joey we all love. Keep up great work. But most of all. We will watch U enjoy the hobby no matter.
Everything you do, Do outta love & Enjoy the hobby. Most of All Do It For YOU.
I will always be subscribed. And So will many others.
I like to hear that you enjoyed the well deserved break, almost sound like a fighter that retired, got that itch again, and is back better than ever, looking forward to see what the new drive brings you and in essence us, keep it up, long time fan!!
Six months from know I can see Joey say "I'm redoing the gallery (insert reason here)"😆
Hey man it’s been a min, always nice to see how much is changing, the plants look amazing
"..about to embark on something I can never change again.." Sure Joey. LOL 😂
I would place the discus higher than the floor, in my experience they like being eye level and not feel like a predator swims over them. :D Excited about the next phase :D
Hey, you filmed this on my birthday! 😂😂 I just realized.
I’m doing my reconstruction this month too. It’s gonna be fun to watch your progress!💪😊
To be honest i was never a fan of this "new" look and dearly missed the 12 rack tanks. But I never say anything because its what you do and that is good as well. So hearing you go back to more tanks again super excites me as well and cannot wait to journey with you on this one. The rack of 120's is what go me into the fish hobby. Good luck and an avid follower from South Africa
Haven’t watched a video in a few months.. didn’t even recognize the gallery.. I’m glad your ripping this version down, didn’t even realize it was the same gallery… big fan though!! Best of luck Joey!
Sounds like a great ideas. Your fishroom always looks great to me. Love your fish. I wish we had a local fish club or fish store. Would be nice. Very small population here though.
"This will always be a 700g planted piranha tank"
Joey we been watching ya for years, that tank will be in 20 different configurations by next month! lol
How about doing a living coral tank with fish in, about 120 gallons, nice and big for a long term project so we can watch the tank grow and mature. I would really love to see that.
i deff miss the old fishroom a rescape for each every month was and still is a great idea, good to see you exited!
Love to see you this excited about the hobby like you always were, I know it seemed like you still were but kinda noticed you were running out of ideas to entertain “youtube” this is Joey!
We are just here following your journey joey and to watch you do what you enjoy doing. Plus we all know you have adhd so know it will change 😊 xxxxx can’t wait to see what coming up xxxxx
Joey, would you consider doing outside DIY like ponds the same way you did with those goldfish before? But with some landscaping to match their environment? I would love to see projects like that from you and believe others will too
ever thought about maybe getting 1 or 2 turtles for that cube tank next to the entrace and fahaka puffer ?
sure this is a fish channel, but turtles are also aquatic (talk about water care and such)
i think maybe 1 or 2 slider who are personable and curious and want attention (food xD) would be a nice addition like a masscot or something
maybe a snapping turtle is also a good idea (but are kinda like logs and not as personable)
its just an idea, but maybe that something that is like keeping fish but isn't is maybe something new to look forward to
So happy that u got inspired again!!! Cant wait to see what u do with ur gallery!!!
brother Im actually looking forward to the rebuild i dident start watching till about 4 years ago when Frank broke the internet i miss the old setup but this is like old school mixed with new looking forward to seeing it all unfold
Here we go again. I knew you would end up switching it around again 😂😂😂 loving the idea
Hi Joe! Man, I think you are at that level when you don't have to please anyone anymore. Just do your thing, and the passion hobbyist will follow you, plus along the way we learn as well and inspired. I hear you, man, and I get it. I was out from hobby for a few years, but now I'm back and more excited than the first time. Keep up the good work.
Love the enthusiasm. Excited you are doing what makes you happy!
Surely fish biting is just an extra strength all over fish pedicure
I did a new project and would love to see your version of it. A glass box with air at the bottom of the tank bubbler to maintain fresh air, for the crabs to have a beach
Note I did find that the weight requirement is = to the weight of water displaced to keep it sink
I love this new idea, Joey!! Can't wait to see how it turns out!!!
This vid sums up Saturn transit into Pisces energy, and I LOVE IT!
I believe they could have potentially forgotten a backflow valve in the well that prevents water being pumped upwards from coming back down when the pump turns off.
Hey Joey, you know it's not going to be called the "Breeding Room" it's called the "Boom Boom Room" 🤣🤣🤣
I see you've caught the allure of a Macroalgae Marine tank lol One of us, one of us, one of uuuus 😂😂😂 Been watching you for a long time, do what makes you happy man!! We just love being along for the ride!! Can't wait to see what you do next!!
Yes!!! Started that months ago. Wait till you see just how much it is!! Seems like I can grow algae like no ones business haha
@@thekingofdiy Oh yeah, Love that stuff, I wanna find some of that blue dragons tongue or whatever its called, if you set up a macroalgae tank well like you have it always tends to look good, nice little island with sand around, gives the more tempermental fish some view blocking and plenty of hiding places for copepods Lol Also Macroalgae is becoming more popular since people are recognizing the benefits so maybe you can make it a side hustle for yoursel or something as well, just sell cuttings and stuff
For my part, I don’t care about the next big thing. Solid information and hobby tips, tricks, breeding, set up, planting, equipment info etc is why we watch fishtube.
All right bro you are an amazing fish tank guy. If it wasn’t for your videos, I think I would’ve quit the hobby years ago. I love the fact that you showed your failures and your success keep up the good work and I will keep watching and thank you for all the information you shared over the years.
It's a good move Joey! You gotta do what you love and I can't imagine too many of us complaining because you want to have more tanks in the Gallery.
Joey I been watching you for at least 10 years now. My kids actually watch you now. The chances of you keeping that tank a piranha tank is 0. If there has been one constant since I started watching you it is that you will change any and every tank. Lmao
