I planned these tanks out last year. Built them months ago AFTER I designed the scapes. All before I knew she was coming. She did great in what was planned for over a year and her o lay knowing for a few mins.

With the small tank with the 2 wood features you could put the larger of the 2 pieces towards the front of the tank and smaller 1 towards the back and it would create the illusion of a lot of depth

ya. i didnt know she was coming, but these tanks and scapes were planned for over a year.
Many years ago I had 3 large piranhas. There was never a problem putting my hands in their tank. They would just float to bottom of the tank on the sides. Only time I had to worry is if I came near your the tank with bologna. They would jump out of the tank to get it, but never for anything else

Joey I have a question; this may seem trivial but it’s the only thing stopping me from building a custom dimensioned tank that I really want to have in my living room. My house always runs really cold, summer or winter. What is the best (also safe) heating system to run in an aquarium in a room where the ambient temperature is always a littler colder?

Joey invest in a legitimate stepping stool, they are much safer and more enjoyable to have around for many purposes.

Moss to grow thick , does not need quite a bit of light ....... my lowest light tanks grow the most dense moss .
It depends, too low and it won't attach, but it can grow in a bucket just with normal room light (if nothing eats it). Joey has rather strong light on that tank and rather evenly distributed for a LED bulb. I could never get Java Moss growing attached to the wood in true low-light conditions.
When it catches on, then maybe, but starting unattached, it creates a huge mass of healthy moss (just not attached). I had the most dense moss in a tank with strong light, CO_2 injections and high fertilizer dosing, but it took months to get rid of hair algae.
As an Mbuna keeper (Malawi’s) I can tell you that no matter what plant you try they’ll destroy it, juveniles yeah,but adults no chance, they even destroy plastic plants 😅

Anubias and java fern/ moss is far easier to grow than any crypt ..... definitely a grain of salt .
Sometimes Crypts are easier, sometimes Anubias, sometimes Java Fern/Moss. Anubias can melt unexpectedly (some bacteria I think). I had Java Fern grow in a tank where all crypts died despite growing for years with no trouble (crypt "disease"), but when I setup nano just with Java Fern under water, all Java Fern melted during one hot summer week.
Lately I had Java Fern Trident almost disappear from a tank where Anubis, Cryptocoryne xWillisi, mosses and such grow with no trouble. Just most of the Java Fern died off (wrong spot maybe). With Java Moss it's (hair) algae problems or (younger) SAE demolishing all but few hidden "twigs".
