I has to come back to this video after hearing about his passing. My dad showed me this when I graduated high school in 2014 and any time I struggled I would come back to watch this. He is such an inspiration and this speech makes me feel like anything is possible. Hawaii will miss such a beautiful soul. Rest in Love uncle Billy, a hui hou, mālama pono ❤️

Billy Kenoi was the most dynamic and inspiring politician I have ever met. Unaware of his illness, I was hoping that one day he would run for national office. I'm very sad tonight, and condolences to his family. Aloha.

I was at a United Way celebration on Hawaii Island a couple of months after my wife and I moved to Hawaii. Billy Kenoi was there, he had never met us in his life. He walked up with a great big smile, introduced himself stuck out his hand, then gave my wife a traditional Hawaiin kiss on the cheek. I will always remember that act of kindness. He had no reason to even talk to us but that was how he was full of aloha. RIP, you made the world a better place.
On Hawaii island, we are truly blessed to have a Mayor and leader that flows from ALOHA, with ALOHA and to ALOHA US ALL.

He's an awesome speaker!!! Billy needs to run for governor. He wears his heart on his sleeve - the opposite of all the other politicians. Plus, he's kind of an outsider on O'ahu, which is good for shaking things up at the capital where hardly anything really gets accomplished.
Love my Mayor. Since he's been our mayor he has fixed up all the children parks and even built new ones. He's added grills to some beaches. The county now keeps bathrooms and trash pretty well maintained, than before. He is down to earth and a family man. He is a blessing. I can go on and on. He banned GMO companies and truly cares about the environment. We are blessed. I adore him.
I still listen to this speech and no doubt will for years to come. Billy Kenoi rocks. He was articulate, thoughtful, and funny. You are missed Billy! But his inspiring and kind nature live on!

Great comments from a Hawaii original. Too bad he's in a State where the zeitgeist isn't what he preaches -- but it's good to see a local deliver a conservative message in a state (and increasingly the nation) that badly needs to hear it. And it's long past time for Abercrombie to crawl in whatever hole from whence he emerged and for Billy to be our Gov.
Billy has qualities most politicians lack. He is humble, doesn't BS and he's a great communicator.
