It's a shame he lacked wisdom in other areas:
"Jobs resisted his doctors' recommendations for medical intervention for nine months,[165] in favor of alternative medicine. Other doctors agree that Jobs's diet was insufficient to address his disease. However, cancer researcher and alternative medicine critic David Gorski wrote that "it's impossible to know whether and by how much he might have decreased his chances of surviving his cancer through his flirtation with woo. My best guess was that Jobs probably only modestly decreased his chances of survival, if that."[166][167] Barrie R. Cassileth, the chief of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center's integrative medicine department,[168] on the other hand, said, "Jobs's faith in alternative medicine likely cost him his life ... He had the only kind of pancreatic cancer that is treatable and curable ... He essentially committed suicide".[169] According to biographer Walter Isaacson, "for nine months he refused to undergo surgery for his pancreatic cancer - a decision he later regretted as his health declined""

40 now, and everything is paid for. Fortunately, I had a college economics teacher who taught me a lesson when I was 18 years old. That lesson was: you can't buy something else for every purchase you make. Having multiple sources of income is prudent, as is living within your means. I have a 13-year-old vehicle because it is all I need, I like it, and I can do whatever I want with it. My net worth is $4 million, and I can pay my bills without stress, but I don't live like I have that. I have no complaints.

The main difference is how many people would actually do something about it. I’m willing to bet that every 9 out of 10 people that watched this video took what Steve said on board, but just either lacked the stability (by that I don’t mean in a mental sense) or the courage to actually do something about it. Yes...it was very necessary! Nancy, The Lord Loves you so much he (The Lord died upon a tree, crucified by the Romans) for all of your sins past present and future on that Cross. He went to hell for you so that you wouldn't have to go to hell and the third day The Lord rose from his tome conquering death and hell once and for all for all those who believe and trust in Him and His word, The Bible!
Was it really necessary? Yes... A trillion to the power of trillion it was necessary... Let the truth rain!
The Lord Loves you so much...he died for you (Nancy)!

I was born and live in china, the intense culture conditioning brainwashed me to be the person what my parents wanted me to be, yet I felt deep inside I was caged with their expectation, from Steve’s speech, I found strength, I backpacked to many countries and tried so many different things (jobs and adventures), I finally realized life is a journey to discover your true nature, and be it, though it’s not really always rainbows and butterflies, yet in general I found Joy and Peace along the way. Thank you for asking, it reminded me how blessed I am to have this life.

I listened to it as a college kid in 2005, and fresh graduate in first job in 2007.. "Stay hungry, Stay foolish" inspired me to try entrepreneurship and do something of my own.....as of 2022, I can say that I have seen more failure than sucess, and today when I am re-listening to this speech , I still found new things to learn...stil it is as inspiring as 15-16 yrs back when I heard it first.
This is the speech of our generation. In 15 mins, Steve Jobs covered a lot of ground with a lot of impact.

It's impressive how many people mention that they keep coming back to this.
So profoundly inspiring, so easily relatable and intimate. All of this, in 15 minutes.
In a way that many books that are considered iconic will quite never manage.
For me it's a small gift to myself and my soul every time I come back here.

I keep coming back to this speech, it is so true.
There are many times when something that seems insignificant at the time, now looking back made such a fundamental change to my life. The key is, take opportunities, be open to ideas and make your own success - by doing nothing, you act actively closing doors to opportunity.

Steve Jobs is really a marketing genius. He doesn't use any complicated words or deep words. Yet, his speech is so deep but yet understandable by everyone. To make difficult things simple, is the difficult part.

Here's a man who found out what he wanted, and knew how to get it. Steve Jobs understood life. This is a true success story, to me. Even if people say he was a jerk, well, sometimes you have to be a dick to get what you want. If someone tells you that you can't achieve something, you give them a big "up yours" and do it. Never succumb to negativity.
