The soundtrack is worth a listen in its own right. Sadly this show has only had one outing as far as I know which is odd as most other new adventures have repeated tours so good to see these clips for the many who never saw it live
I know very little about dance generally and ballet in particular; the only performance I ever attended was by a touring company from New Jersey; the stage was certainly undersized and the music was provided by CSs - but it was Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet," the music of which I had on LPs, and I was entranced. As for more contemporary dance forms, the few video excerpts I saw left me cold . . . but watching a video of a complete performance of Bourne's "Swan Lake" gave me a new appreciation for dance that seemed to be a melding ballet and contemporary. Matthew Bourne is a genius.
This was the show i watched for A-Level theatre studies and it got me hooked. Bought the dvd of Swan Lake, got to do a bunch of coursework on the shows. Man, you guys made me start to be interested in dance. I love this so much 💜
Wish I could see it!
