So this an honest question if I’m using cinematic mode on my native camera app can I use the tripod tracking feature and if not can I use the tripod without the app. Because I know one gimbal that do but it don’t got these ai features. Asking for a friend that owns a x2 and x3 and a gimbal that need an update

Having the phone grip end of the gimbal only by magnet & no locking mechanism sounds a bit sketchy- however I'd be willing to try if I have a more substantial phone case to record on. My phone gimbal fron Moza has trouble gripping the phone when in a case so that too makes a bare phone just as precarious state
Full frame ZV-E1 looks great but hoping the pricing can lock perhaps double range of the other ZV camera lines- tops, to sell like gangbusters.
The ultra low light sensor while stabilized should be the gauntlet to determine if I'd jump on the new addition camera from Sony

I started this vid a bit burned out from the 95 other ZV-E1 vids all dropping at the same time, you were the first to double whammy it with the Insta 360 gimble. You are one of the few also that actually get out and use the gear harder during a review that most others. That tells me I should stop two-timing and stick with being a potato. LOL
The ZV-E10 has been my daily driver for all my videos and streaming since 2020 and it is so crisp. This new ZV-E1 tho is a dream come true with that full frame sensor 😩

The sensor size is roughly 2.3 times bigger 🤯
While it is an A7C upgrade tbh, to $2200 unless you are into serious vlogging or have money lying around, makes sense. It won't cater to hybrid content creators with just a 12MP sensor. At this price, just get Sony FX30 or A7IV. These cameras offer almost everything this camera does except Dynamic Stabilisation Mode & Vlogging specific colors with a higher megapixel count and EVF. With FX30, Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 or Sony 10-18mm f/4 works perfectly. With A7IV, Sony 16-35mm f/4 or f/2.8 works perfectly.

Definitely picking up this E1 in the future. Loving all the features about it. Compact vlogging camera that doesn't have to be on a gimbal all the time to allow easy recording and easy handling. For the people that are complaining about this camera, name me a more affordable compact full-frame camera with amazing video features for less than $2,200 usd?
The E1 is aim at vloggers who wants bigger video qualities and amazing 10-bit colors without needing to color grade the footage in post-production. The a7iv & a7Siii are both not vlogging friendly as they're too big to carry around. Too many people here are comparing a vlogging camera to other cameras that are in different categories. I plan to get an E1 in the future for vlogging and video recording purposes as it caters to what i need it for. Thanks for the review Potato Jet.

I was so hoping this camera would be in the ZV price range as you mentioned, this is pretty steep for a consumer level. Overall, I like it especially with the ability to use catalyst.

nice surprise! I am prepping for a trip, first time w/o a camera and looking for a gimbel for my phone instead and Insta360 Flow came up and of cause I wanted your opinion on it. Though a lot was about the ZV-E1 and no you are not getting me to buy a new camera! I used your affiliated link and surprisingly they included a gift for each bundle, eg spotlight for the basic kit. Dude, (Australian here...) if you want your boomerang to return, you have to throw it INTO the wind, and preferably let it rip at 45 degrees of inclination to the horizon. Otherwise, well done. Very disappointed the Coast Guard (or Baywatch) were not required to rescue Dylan from the current, however.

Hey potato! I'm thinking of getting the Sony ZV-E10 for recording lecture videos, especially at a distance of around 15 meters. Do you think it's a good choice for this purpose? If yes, could you suggest any specific settings or lenses that would work best? If not, I'd really appreciate your recommendation for a camera that's suitable for recording 90-minute lectures at a distance of 15-20 meters. My FX30 which is geared to cinematographers is 2200…with the XLR handle. 1800 without the handle. Sony is on crack to make that 2200. If you record audio externally, why even buy an FX3? If you don’t shoot 4k120 or 1080p240? Just get this. It’s like Sony releases a camera, then shots themselves in the foot making a better camera 6 months later lmao I don’t get it. I don’t really understand what you get for 2200 on this. The stabilize and product zoom? So is the same camera from A7SIII, A7IV, FX3, (sorta FX30, just super35 sensor), but for VLOGGING! With all of the features (and more…apparently), if Sony is gonna release 4k120 and 1080p240…would they lower the price of the FX3?? People have already been selling their FX3s fl have multiple FX30s…then they release THIS camera - which basically is an FX3 and the FX30s price. Why are you like this Sony 😂
I think that's exactly it. They're charging prosumer prices for "features" like a non-interchangeable lens, less features, less customization, and calling it "vlogger friendly" to justify $2k+. That is WILD to me. Seems like sony thinks they can charge this because "LOG AND FULL FRAME YOU GUYS!" when in reality no vlogger is going to color grade their vlogs and won't really care about a full frame sensor or even know the difference.
@@ChunkyJo that was my very first thought was "its because its full frame, isnt it?" When its obvious alot of film makers actually stopped carrying about Full Frame vs APSC if the FX30 literally made people sell their full frame FX3's to have multiple FX30s. You got the lenses to help with that crop? NBD. I didnt understand that either. LOG is one thing, but 10 bit? Thats a selling point to a vlogger? They wont be using qualifiers and davinci resolve to make their vlog look like a Michael Bay film...theyre slapping on a lut and calling it a day. Either Sony is just acting super weird, or they have sneaky tricks up their sleeves to make you go "awwwww man, you already bought the other camera 6 months ago that has less features? Sucks you cant return it for this one. Just buy this one and now you have 2....until the next camera comes out in 6 months again." Its just a very strange business model in my eyes by Sony. I hate that im loyal to them only because im already so invested in their ecosystem but its just becoming very strange to me. This camera is essnetially an FX3 inside the body of something like an a6600. Thats it. So anyone with an FX3 right now who doesnt care about higher framerates is probably going nuts right now.
I am crying inside while reading :( same sentiment. I am a poor bugger, no budget for gadgets. Have to save for a long time only to get the camera I wanted. Aim for FX30 and now they show this...FML

Why would a BEGINNER pay $700 more for this? They could get the R8, a good lens and a mic for under $2200. They learn how the shoot and when they’re ready to move up their in canons ecosystem.
This camera should’ve been $100 cheaper than the R8 considering it’s basically video only.
@@cjenkins79 You can get R8 for $1500, but you have to buy $1500 lens (rf 14-35) if you want good quality vlogging lens. For sony you can buy good Tamron 17-28 or sigma 16-28 about $800.

Hello, did you get a lot of jello effect when flying on cinelifter? I am asking because you mentioned that it has ibis which is usually bad for flying even when disabled.

Active stab has a 40% crop. This means if you use it there are not enough pixels left for 4k

If Sony made an electronic viewfinder to fit in the hot shoe, I'd buy it hands down. As you know, the LCD screen is useless for critical focus, framing and exposure in bright sunny days! Why Sony doesn't offer this expensive accessory for the FX3/30 and this new E1 is unbelievable.
I have the FLow Pro already but am buying the ZV-E1. You should more settings and real world use in you goofying off than most "how to" videos for ZV-E1.

I wish you would've tested overheating in 104F at 4k60. That is THE BIG QUESTIONMARK after all the initial tests came out and nobody really talks about that. 39min at 24fps sound worrysome when considering 60fps at that temperature. I'm thinking of Vlogging on Bali, Thailand or other hot places...
Tip - edit your video transcriptions before posting! Lots of people watch with captions. Unless there really is a "cinna vlad" mode 😆

I really think you need a comparison on the zv-e1, a7iii, a7iv, and whatever else in that same range. Doesn't seem to be an upgrade path I would take for my ZV-1 to ZV-E10 to ZV-E1. I'm actually thinking about switching to Canon RP, so I can use the stop-motion firmware, but that has nothing to do with video and wouldn't be a recommendation unless you are doing stop-motion.
