  • Today I am sharing our four year infertility journey and the steps we took to conceive our baby boy. I was diagnosed with PCOS and went though a variety of fertility treatments including clomid, femara, HSG, and IUIs. I also explain why we did not choose to proceed with IVF. I know how difficult TTC and infertility can be, so I hope by sharing our journey through infertility and miscarriage it can encourage you to know you are not alone.

    The recurrent miscarriages are brutal. I've been trying to get doctors to give me progesterone without any luck. I don't understand why they hesitate when there really isn't any harm in trying to see if that's the reason for the miscarriages. Happy to hear about your happy ending. Wishing you the best in the future!

      Try and find another Dr or be persistent. Some Dr don't think the research is there to support a progesterone Rx for women ttc. I've had more mc than I can count and finally got an Rx after begging. I'm convinced the lack of progesterone was a cause for MC. Now I just need to get a BFP so I can use the progesterone to support a pregnancy. Hope the best for you

    I just found your channel from searching pcos ttc. Your story has really helped and encouraged me. My husband and I have been going through infertility for 4 years now and only in the past year have sought a doctor's help. We are also Christians and don't feel like IVF is in the cards for us. We just had our first TI letrozole cycle fail. The letrozole worked but the trigger shot didn't. I ended up ovulating later that cycle but had low progesterone and then no bfp. I was getting concerned because I was getting the feeling that our clinic wanted us to move onto IVF after 3 IUI cycles. In my heart I feel like 3 IUI cycles can't be the end of the line for us in trying in this way. Your story of multiple cycles of clomid and letrozole and going through failed cycles of IUI and then back to to clomid and letrozole only gives me hope and encouragement that that can be a path for us. That is really encouraging. Thank you for sharing your story. Infertility is hard period but it's also hard to be going through infertility and knowing that IVF isn't something we feel right doing. I have family also going through this dilemma but with unexplained infertility. My heart goes out to them as they feel like they have no options. I have read of unexplained couples having success with things like letrozole, clomid, metformin, or progesterone but for them, doctor's haven't offered these things. I hope others can be inspired by your story.

      I am so sorry for my delayed response, but definitely am thankful you reached out. I hate hearing that you are struggling with infertility as it's such a painful and lonely journey. If I have learned anything over the past four years it's that you know your body better than anyone else. I track my ovulation using basal body temperature charting and ovulation sticks. More months than not I ovulate 10 or so days later than what is typical. Doctors would tell me that I don't ovulate, when in reality I ovulate late. This could be the same for you! I also believe taking progesterone after ovulation helped me to stay pregnant with our rainbow. Please reach out if you ever need someone to talk with. Sending love your way.

    This is so brave for you to share and very sweet of you to offer to be there for others sharing a similar experience. Progesterone worked for me as well! After having 2 recurrent miscarriages, I was able to have my 2 boys.

      I don't think progesterone support is talked about enough, but I definitely know it can help. Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm so happy you were able to have your 2 boys. ❤

    Thank you for sharing your story. I have PCOS as well and have been able to get pregnant twice using letrozole, but have miscarried both times. I have gotten my progesterone tested both times and it’s been normal, but I’m still advocating to be put on progesterone next time. Did you ever get your progesterone level checked and have confirmed low progesterone? Thank you.

      Hi Rachel. I'm so sorry for your losses. This last pregnancy my progesterone was normal the day of my positive pregnancy test. The doctor didn't think I needed to go on progesterone, but a few days later I started spotting and my progesterone had dropped from 30 to 10. I went on progesterone at that point and ended up losing that pregnancy a few weeks later. From now on I'm going to stay on progesterone right after ovulation. Although my progesterone was never marked as low, I do think it's a factor in my losses. I would definitely advocate for yourself.

    I have a son (8) and a daughter(5) and I had my tubes tied at age 21 I got them Untied November2021 at 25 when I got my tubes tied my period got all messed up and ended up only coming a few times a year I thought untying them it would make my body go back to normal it did not I got diagnosed with PCOS a few weeks ago and I’m on progesterone and letrozole it’s my first round I want to have another baby so bad and it’s a whole new world I was able to have two kids no issues now I’m stuck on cycle day 3 according to my blood results me having my tubes untied it’s very important to get pregnant fast because my tubes can scar over and I would have to get surgery again and it’s not a cheap procedure. I hate feeling less of a women not being able to have a normal cycle and not being able to ovulate on my own. The only thing giving me hope is CZcams videos and my friend just had a baby and has had PCOS forever and she wasn’t on any meds. Weirdly enough all my ovulation test are positive sense I had my tubes untied so I don’t even know how to track if I’m ovulating with out having to go threw my dr

      @KatieDianne1  Před 2 lety

      Hi Taylor. Thanks for being here. When it comes to tracking ovulation, make sure the ovulation line is *darker* than the test line. Unlike pregnancy test, two lines do not mean a positive with ovulation test. Tracking cycles definitely takes some learning but gets easier in time. Wishing you all the best with your journey.
