  • I gave a talk about MLOps lessoned learned from building my brother and I's startup Nutrify (a computer vision powered app to help people learn about food). The talk originally happened in the MLOps Learners Discord and was livestreamed to CZcams. I'm reposting my section here.
MLOps stands for "Machine Learning Operations" and includes all of the parts around a machine learning model. For example, evaluation, data storage, deployment and more.

Dear Daniel. Don't waste your time on such bad startup ideas. Nobody needs a food recognition app. As a tip from a pro founder. I saw skilled mobile devs some 10 years ago coming up and trying one horrible startup idea after another. Recognizing generic food is easily and faster done by any adult unless it is a very rare fruit. The current AI hype will be over in 10 years, at least at the current level, so don't waste your time with bad app ideas. If you lack very good ideas, simply hire at a large corp for a while--no shame in that.

Hello Daniel Bourke, do you sometimes write machine learning algorithms from scratch instead of importing machine learning packages like Scikit-learn ,Keras ,Tensorflow?

Hey Daniel, I love your content. Do you think it's possible to freelance as a machine learning engineer?
