  • In this Hour of Power episode, the congregation moves from the old church into the just -finished Crystal Cathedral at the end of the program. Note that the Hazel Wright Organ was not yet completed and installed at the time of the dedication of the Crystal Cathedral - it came later in 1982.

I was a member of the Crystal Cathedral in the 70's and 80's. I was a New Hope Counselor. I was there the morning of this Occasion, watching from the New Hope Tower. Beautiful to have watched. Connie J. Bruns.

What a joy of inspiration. Dr. Schuller will continue to touch the weary and suffering as long as these spiritually uplifting episodes are available. I pray they always will be.

He was a dynamic preacher, one of the very best, who's known for his "feel good motivations," in "positive thinking." This would also be their home (for the first time) before the Crystal Cathedral would be filed for bankruptcy, and much before the church's family would lose Dr. Schuller! It's been a year since then, and may we continue to celebrate the memory of him, while he's still R.I.P. (1926 - 2015).

The key words in this were 'possibility' and 'dream'. The key Bible equivalents are 'promises' and 'trust'. So let history record that now the possibility has become an impossibility and the dream has faded away, God's promises still stand and we can trust them.

I so miss Robert Schuller, I am not of his faith but I am God worshiping and I found a kinship with Dr. Schuller... He preached the word of God and was a wonderful example as a man, as a pastor, and as a teacher ... He is on the right hand side of Our Heavenly Father along with Arvella his beloved wife... Rest in peace Brother Schuller... We will all return to Our Heavenly Father some day....

The Widor Toccata is that song being played as they transition to the new sanctuary so I know that. But what is that hymn called that plays at 49:50 as the cathedral window opens to let in God? I've been researching and shazaming for that for years.

This has a film quality to it, not a videotape quality to it. It’s different.

Greg i’m curious how you got the info on the number for this episode. This should actually be HOP555 and was probably produced on 31 August 1980 and aired 14 September 1980.

Christopher Gagliardi From the ending, my guess is the Widor Toccata.

If you are talking about the very end when the credits are rolling it is Virgil Fox's arrangement of Now Thank We All Our God.
