  • Rodel Francisco arrived in Canada as an international student. He realized last minute that his course did not qualify him to secure a post-graduation work permit (PGWP) after graduation.
But he insisted on finding ways to stay in Canada. He ended up enrolling three times until he found an employer to sponsor him as a foreign worker.
    Ano ang kwentong Canada mo?

Hi Ms. Ina! Dennis po from New Zealand. Dito sa New Zealand, marami rin naghire na employer overseas including Filipinos at as per Immigration NZ, it will only take 7 weeks to wait ng approval! I would say New Zealand is better since 5.2 million lang population na napakaraming advantages compare sa 38.5 million so less competition to search for job, less unemployment, less crime, less pollution, mas malapit kung uwi ng Pinas kasi 11 hours lang, coldest temperature -5 degrees, hottest 34 degrees. Sana magising na mga Pinoy para kasi dito pag maging NZ citizen na, pede na rin magwork sa Australia without apply for work permit at after 4 years pede na apply for Australian citizenship!!

Let's not try to pit one country against another by saying X country is better than X country. New Zealand is a beautiful country but let's be honest immigrants use it as a backdoor to work and settle in Australia.

Now about student pathway, you have to know the history bakit naging mas prefer ito ng karamihan hindi lang pinoy but also sa ibang lahi like indians, chineses, european, africans etc.
Its alll about skilled work here in Canada. The demand before skilled workers are very high and if you want compete for this jobs you have to be here kasi karamihan sa mga company like banking, engineering, R&D, telecom, media eh hindi allowed mag bigay ng work sponsorship or ayaw magbigay mga work sponsorship. I think ganun pa rin case ngayon.
So yun mga nauna andito naging word of mouth na sya na after maka graduate at mabibigyan ng work permit sila and makakapag work sa malalako companies nasabi ko sa taas.
Iba pa ito sa menial jobs like restaurant, fast food staff and other non technical jobs.
Very complex Ang immigration and hindi sya basta basta.

@@teekbooy4467 True... but it isn't as straightforward as acquiring Canadian citizenship and then you can work in the US and be a citizen after 4 or 5 years of staying there which is the case with New Zealand where they can cross the ditch to Australia and work there freely without any work permit and acquire citizenship. Australians would often joke about it and say "Where do you find happy Kiwis? .... In Australia."

What happened is because of series of wrong decisions. However, glad he still making it. Please make it. Parang ako yung napagod. 😢 Hirap mag aral uli with the school work. Ang hirap din na mag LLMIA ka and will not have a freedom to choose an employer in the next few years. Kuya, I think you shouldnt have enrolled doon sa school after mong natapos yung isang course sa kanila. You could've studied 2 yrs na with a PGWP eligible program somewhere and I dont know if I heard it right but you are around Vancouver pa nakatira? Which is really high cost of living. I hope the employer will be all the way nice to you until you get a PR status sa Canada. All the best, yun nalang talaga masasabi ko. 😔
Guys, RESEARCH, ASK. Both are FREE.
Don't put yourself to so much stress by just relying on emotions and other people helping out. You should have plan ABCDEEEEEEE before you go here in Canada and spend tons of money.
