am gonna add a few tips on how to wider/enlarge your vocabulary.
1. Start adding new meaning to familiar words, as an example the word "still" has diverse meaning such as "stand still" (stand without moving) or "better still" ( even better). Same word but different meaning depending on how they are used.
2. get familiar with the phrases that are used figuratively ( the words/phrases that are NOT used with their literal/usual sense) as an example "having second thoughts" ( means : start having doubts about decision youve made) or " I was tied up" (I was busy).This part is dedicated for intermediate- advanced ppl only.
3. Grab a book and start reading. Make yourself flashcards and write down all the words or phrases that you don't understand or are unfamiliar with . If your goal is to pass toefl exam then reading an academic book is vital, for those who are struggling with English language ,and those who are considered as a beginner, then I recommend, as linguamarina mentioned in the video, books for kids.
Am not an expert, am still learning and trying to master this languge but everything what I said is based on my personal experience and the Oxford word skill book that has helped me a lot.

Thanks for your sharing. I often listen videos of english and repeat some patterns or questions in that video for improving my speaking and listening skills. Sometimes, i make up a funny story to help me remmember some new vocabulary more easily.

This video is super useful, as you said it, we need to immersing ourselves to adapt the ears, eyes and tongue. For sure I'll need to hire a teacher from skipe or any site web to practice my speaking, since now I only mimic and shadowing and this isn't my thing, I can't enjoy it.

Hey I love your suggestions in this video, they are very helpful! Btw I am not a native English speaker and recently wanted to improve my English in the summer holidays of university. Do you have any preference between reading physical books or On kindle? .i would also suggest for the learners out there that it's better to write down the new words that you recently learned along with the definitions,antonyms,synonyms,etc on a dedicated book for learning :)
